"Ah!" Sara let out a small breathy scream, jolting upwards, tears flooding her eyes as they fought to escape.

Hearing her yell and feeling the weight of the girl's head lift off his chest, Oliver's eyes opened and he leaned up slightly, propping himself up on his elbows and looking at her. Sleepily, he watched her breathe heavily for a moment until he noticed large tears rolling down her face endlessly.

Immediately his eyes went huge and he sat up the rest of the way, grabbing her shoulder gingerly making her whirl her head around and stare at him breathing raggedly, on the brink of hyperventilating, "woah, hey, what's wrong Sara, are you okay?"

Trying to choke out her words, Sara spoke shakily, "I-I, dre-ea- I-I'm-"

"Shhh," Oliver quieted her softly, then saying gently, "hey, hey, calm down, let's get out of here, you've gotta feel so trapped."

Nodding quickly as tears continued to flow down her face as sobs rang out from her back of her throat, the blond boy helped her clamber out of the fort. As soon as they were out, they stepped over the debris of their night and quickly walked back to Oliver's room, him with a tender arm around her shoulder as she took wobbly steps forward.

After a moment, they made it to his room and he sat her down, then going and shutting the door as quietly as he could and turning on the light, going to sit down next to her.

Rule #3: No being alone behind closed doors. Broken.

Settling in place, she continued to breathe heavily as she let out stifled sobs with her hand over her mouth and her eyes shut tightly. Quickly, her eyes bolted open as if she remembered something, and she suddenly started crying even harder, bending over a small bit as she sat her feet on the edge of the bedframe, bringing her knees closer to her chest as she wrapped her arms around and hugged them.

"Hey, everything's okay, everything's fine, you're alright, breathe, breath with me, watch me Sara," Oliver said to her, bringing a hand to the side of her face, making her look at him with her wide eyes clouded with tears as she brought her hand down from her face.

Bringing his hand up and down as he breathed slowly and exaggeratedly, Sara followed his lead and tried to breathe with him, though she spoke out with sobs interrupting her words at the same time, "w-what's this d-doing-g?"

He answered her as calmly as he could as to keep her calm, "when you're able to take nice, deep, slow breaths like this it's a signal to your body, because you can't breathe calmly when something's wrong, so being able to breathe like this tells your body that everything's okay."

Nodding as she continued to breathe, she soon managed to stop sobbing though salty tears continued to fall from her eyes. Bringing her feet up from the frame of the bed and crossing her legs instead, she relaxed a little more as she sniffled, looking down as she fidgeted with her fingers in her lap.

"Sara?" Oliver asked towards her gently, and when she looked towards him, "are you okay?"

Blinking as more teardrops rolled down her face, she leaped over and hugged him tightly, clutching on to the fabric of his shirt as she no longer fought to muffle her sobs from the crook of his neck. Quickly, he hugged her back, placing soothing hands on her back as he pulled her in closer.

Rule #2: No hugging. Broken

"Oh, Sara..." he said in sympathy as she cried into him though he still had no idea why she had been so upset.

"I'm sorry, I-I just had a really bad n-nightmare," she spoke in broken words as she pulled away, wiping her eyes with a closed fist.

Looking at the poor girl with sad eyes, he asked her carefully, "do you want to talk about it? It may help you feel better."
