"Patrick," Sara sobbed over the phone after the boy picked up, hoping for some much needed emotional support.

On the other side of the line, Patrick's eyes widened when he heard the sound of her crying, "woah, Sara, what's wrong, what happened?"

"He-he doesn't like me, Patrick, it hurts so bad," she choked out, covering her mouth with her fist to muffle the sobs escaping her lips.

Immediately, the brunette was infuriated, also feeling pity for his best friend, "he WHAT? That good-for-nothing Subway Boy.... He better hope I don't see him," he muttered, anger fueling him before he said firmly, "I'm coming over with movies and ice cream, I'll be there in 20."

"Thank you," she said just before he hung up, feverishly getting things together to leave for the night, not even bothering to explain where he was going before he screamed bye to his family and bolted out the door.

After a quick run into the nearest convenience store, he continued running to Sara's apartment, not stopping until he was standing in the middle of the elevator, barely breaking a sweat as he was completely powered by adrenaline. Pressing the button a few times in hopes it would make the elevator go faster, it soon came to a stop on the fourth floor where he quickly speed-walked out, only to come face to face with the good-for-nothing Subway Boy himself.

Emotion shifting from sympathy for Sara to rage at Oliver as they met eyes. Seeing the fury in Patrick's expression, the younger boy grew fearful, appearing to shrink into himself slightly through the faint tear stains on his face that Patrick had not failed to notice but gave no pity for. Wishing he could back away but knowing he couldn't, he looked away from his angered eyes as he stepped closer, pointing a finger and placing it on his chest.

"Listen, I don't know what your game is Subway Boy, but you hurt my friend and that is the only thing I care about. I have no idea why you lied to her like that, but she is hurting so bad right now because of you, and you are so lucky she cares about you as much as she does or you would be on the floor," he growled with venom, eyes going dark with intensity as he leered at him.

"I-I... I'm sorry, I jus-" he stumbled out at a near whisper, backing a step away from the boy who, despite only being the tiniest bit taller appeared to tower over him.

"Save it for someone who cares," Patrick hissed at him, "if you're really sorry tell that to Sara Lin, I am not her and I am definitely not telling her for you."

Pushing him out of the way and walking passed him, glancing back with a glare just after he knocked on Sara's door, "now if you don't mind I have a heartbroken best friend to comfort, no thanks to you. Now please leave before she has to see you and feel even worse."

Quickly walking away, feeling guiltier than he had already, he didn't even bother to wait for the elevator knowing there wouldn't be enough time to get in and have it close before she came to the door.

Seconds after he had started walking down the stairs, deciding to go on a walk, Sara had showed up to her door, tears still rolling down her face, but as soon as she saw Patrick at her door she leaned in and wrapped her arms around his waist, crying into his chest as he hugged her back, murmuring softly, "it's okay Sara, it's okay, he's a jerk anyway."

She then brought him inside and over to her room, and sitting down on her bed, she let out a sobbing laugh as Patrick handed her one of the pints of ice cream from the plastic bag on his arm, "thanks for coming, I didn't even have to ask, you're the best."

"Don't mention it, just tell me what happened," Patrick said, opening the container of ice cream in his hand and digging a spoon in.

"So after I got to the building," she sniffed, "I saw Oliver going in, and I tried to keep up so I took the stairs up, and when I got up I said I wanted to talk to him about something."
