Chapter 37

"Laura! Laura wait! Wait!" He shouted to catch up with her. She ignored him completely and continued to walk away. "Please wait!" He said finally catching up and grabbing a hold of her. "I have nothing to say to you." She said and walked the other way. "I got you out of the mess. Isn't that what you wanted?" He asked her. She stopped and turned around. She looked at him. He had a bruised lip and a little black eye. Nothing major. But just looking at him made this unbelievable hatred start to boil. She reacted without thinking. She slapped him as hard as could and bit the flesh on her lip to relieve the pain. Her hand still stinging from the impact. She took a deep breath before she said anything but her throat was too dry for her to even say anything. Anything at all. So instead of saying how she felt, her face became heated and her eyes started to cloud over with tears. Little by little the tear escaped from her eye. She blinked back the rest that were threatening to fall. He was shocked. He didn't move or say anything so he just stared at her.

"You were gonna send me off to the same person you wanted to keep me away from!?"She finally spoke. "It was the only way. I had to do what I said I would do." He said. Her heart was nearly hanging out of its socket as she stared at him. "You just don't get it do you!?" She asked ripping the tears away from her face. She was done. That was one thing for sure. "What those promises you made me!? Huh!? Do they not mean anything to you!?" She shouted at him. "They do! And now I can focus on all of them because there's no threat coming." He said like it was the most simplest thing ever. "You have no clue what any of this means do you!?" She asked. "This means I am able to make it up to you." He said calmly. This made her blood boil. "Can't you see what's wrong here!?" She shouted at him. "Your right anyway. I'm sure you won't need me on anything because I quit." She said and started to walk away completely. He took hold of her wrist. "You can't quit." He said. "Oh yeah?" She asked. "Watch me." She said.

It was a struggle but he set her aside. "Your not quitting. That's not a choice you make." He said. "Then its simple as it comes, I'm not associated with this anymore." She said. "Its not a decision you make. Its a decision I make. And your not doing anything unless I have directed it". He said. She crossed her arms and looked at him. Her eyebrow raised. "You don't own me!" She said. He got in her personal space. "I'd back the hell away from me if I were you right now." She warned him. "Last time I checked, I do." He said. She pushed him away from her."You don't own me! I want nothing to do with you anymore! I deserve better!" She shouted but more like at herself. "I told you baby the moment it happened." He said. She pushed him off. "Shut the fuck up." She said. He scolded her. "What did I say about that type of language?" He asked her. "I don't give a fuck Lynch. Your not the boss of me and I certainly won't be any part of you anymore." She said. He grabbed her and held her tightly.

"Let go of me! Let go of me!" She shouted. "What did I say about such disobedience!?" He asked. Well growled. She laughed bitterly. "What did you say? What did you say huh?" She laughed once again. She didn't move at all but it was enough to make him angry. "What's your problem?" He asked her. "I don't think I have a problem. I'm just dealing with an emotional crisis but somehow my boyfriend doesn't seem to get it!" She shouted. "You know so! You knew! You always know everything! And I'm like your own little fucking puppet! You toss me around like I'm nothing! You sold me to a couple of drug dealers! You made me out to be a whore! A whore!" She shouted finally cracking. He looked at her in shock. "Where did you hear all of this!?" He asked her. She pushed him off her and slapped him across the face. He cringed as he held his cheek.

"You fucking fuckshit! I hope everything comes crashing down on you! You clearly don't care about me like I care about you! You don't care about anyone but yourself! How can I be so stupid?" She asked herself. He took her in his arms and comforted her. "I trusted you. I believed you. I loved you. And still do." She said. "I'm sorry. I had to do what I had to do. There was no other option." He said. She took a deep breath and totally ignored him holding onto her. She closed her eyes and took deeper breaths. 'Don't kill him. Don't kill him.' She repeated to herself. He carefully picked her up and took her up with him. She didn't move at all. She relaxed her muscles and remained calm.

He placed her down on her feet. He turned around and she opened her eyes. She seen him looking away and quickly dashed away. She didn't know or understand where she was going but it seemed like that place was calling her name. "Laura!?" She heard him call in the distance. She continued to run even faster. As fast as her legs could carry her. Once she reached the destination, tears rolled down her cheeks as she dropped to her knees. She hugged herself tightly as more tears fell out of her eyes. "Its been a while....mom". She said wiping off her cheeks.
