The following morning, Y/N woke up to Sihtric shaking her playfully.
"What is the meaning of this?" She wiped the dust from her eyes as Sihtric pulled her legs towards him.
"Greeting my wife, with a kiss." Sihtric's hand came up to the back of her head, bring her forward to plant a gentle kiss.
"And to please her." Sihtric breathed out, watching her, "if she will let me." His mouth, ghosting across her neck. Y/Ns head snapped to Finan's, who had started to wake up.
"Don't worry about me." Finan watched attentively, as Sihtric bunched up her tunic. Sihtric carefully, kissing her breasts. Paying attention to each one as he licked his way down her stomach to her core, pulling down her breeches. Y/N watched Sihtric kiss the inside of her leg, paying attention to her new scar, before kissing her core. Finan hissed at the sight. Kissing her neck, as his hands played with her breasts, while Sihtric pushed his face in deeper, his nose nuzzling at her clit. The woman didn't know what to do and thrashed, finding one of her hands in Sihtrics hair as the other grabbed Finan, pulling him into a kiss.
"Fin. Arg. Siht." Finan chuckled as he nipped at her breasts, as he squeezed the other.
"Cum for Sihtric." Finan begged, knowing she was close. Shitric worked faster, humming to himself as she came.
"Good girl." Finan whispered, stroking her head gently with a smirk. Sihtric placed one last kiss on her thigh before kissing her lips, getting off of her so he could get her clothes.
"Uhtred wishes to see us down stairs. He has a plan." Sihtric, handed her some clothes, watching her with an amused expression. Finan chuckled, quickly getting dressed, before following Sihtric down the stairs.

Y/N smiled at the Lady Gisela, who held the woman's arm in worry as Sihtric handed Uhtred a note.
"So. What does it say?" Finan asked impatiently.
"Erik has enough oath men to crew his ships. Three nights before the first is when the first of the metal is too be delivered. We will make our way down the river to Beamfleot and kill the man who stands guard over his ships. And Erik and Athelflaed sail away. And Wessex is saved." Y/N looked at the Lady Gisela, who had the same thought.
"How many guards?" Gisela asked.
"Eight or ten. On the ships." Sihtric said plainly.
"That is all?" Finan asked.
"Yes." Sihtric said, slightly irritated.
"Then it's as simple as that." Finan said, slightly patting the table.
"Erik is in charge. His men guard the Lady Æthelflaed. The ship is ready and in waiting." Y/N frowned, not trusting the situation. "Why go by river and not horse back?"
"If we go with the tide, it will be faster." Uhtred answered looking at Y/N, who accepted the answer.
"They will follow you." The Lady Gisela stated, but Y/N knew what she meant. They will follow Æthelflaed.
"Is Y/N ready for another battle?" Uhtred asked, getting up.
"Of course, Lord." Uhtred nodded.
"Good."

Finan got up, attending to their horses, while Y/N went to find Clapa.
"Uhtred says we are to leave." Clapa nodded, playing with his sword.
"Finan or Sihtric." Y/N shook her head.
"We said at Cookham."
"We've been to Cookham twice." Y/N huffed, returning to her husband.
"Sihtric!" She said to Clapa. Sihric peered his head round the horse, curious to know why his name was mentioned.
"Finan. Your list of complaints is getting longer." Clapa laughed at Finan, who crossed his arms.
"What other complaints are there now woman." Y/N shrugged, touching his arms, "there are no complaints, dear husband."
"There better not be." Finan allowed Y/N to kiss him before looking at a confused Sihtric.
"And what about Sihtric? Any complaints for him." Y/N tapped her foot pretending to think.
"He keeps leaving his wife with a poor teacher." Clapa snickered, causing the woman to panick. "I meant with. Ugh. He's a bad swordsman teacher." Finan laughed, pulling the embarrassed woman into a hug.
"Finan, you can't keep being soft on her." Sihtric muttered, walking over to help Y/N onto her horse before getting on his and riding to Cookham.

Once they reached Cookham docks, Y/N helped Sihtric load the ships up with weapons, ignoring The Monk, who approached.
"Don't even think about finding an axe." Finan looked at her, as he noticed his wife listening in. Y/N looked up innocently before placing another shield in a boat.
"He's right. You'll get it suck and you know won't know how to get it back out." Sihtric said, kicking the rope into the corner.
"Thanks for the confidence." Y/N said, looking at the two.
"Oh I have confidence. Just not with you and an axe." Sihtric stated. Finan held his hands up, refusing to answer. "I will not argue with him." Y/N shook her head at Finans words before getting into the boat with Sihtric.

The closer they got, the more she started to dread it. Her head was filled with empty thoughts, but her stomach had started to turn. Y/N refused to be a coward, she wanted to prove her worth as their wife, but she currently liked the role of a coward. Though, it was already too late to turn back now and looking at The Monk, he was more afraid than she was.
"Twenty guards. Sihtric, you said there would be no more than eight or ten." Y/N's stomach turned, looking at Sihtric, he would have never gotten it wrong.
"He cannot count." Clapa stated.
"No Lord. There has never been more than eight or ten." Sihtric stared up ahead, trying to recalculate another approach.
"Ryperes will strike first from the water. They look to the river, and then kill them." Uhtred said, cutting up some dry grass.
"But Lord, we are just eleven." The Monk said, being overtly pessimistic.
"We will attack at dark." Uhtred said.
"Y/N, can you swim?" Uhtred said looking at her.
"Absolutely not." Finan said, knowing Uhted wanted to send Y/N with Rypere.
"I asked Y/N. Hild said she was a strong swimmer." Sihtric wanted to challenge Uhtred, but Uhted would not hear it.
"That is true." Y/N said dreading the new plan
"Go with Rypere." Uhtred said. "Now." Y/N shuffled back to the boat quickly. Not getting a chance to say goodbye to them.

Y/N headed to Rypere telling him the new plan, that they were to emerge from water.
"You ever fought in the water, girl." Y/N shook her head. She knew nothing.
"It is difficult, but only if you can't swim." Y/N took the bamboo like grass and followed Rypere.
"Swim. Pull in to the water and drown." Rypere hit her arm before swimming under the water. Y/N followed, putting the bamboo in her mouth, swimming under the water, using the bamboo as a form of breathing aid. Trying to make sure she wouldn't go too high up so she wouldn't draw attention to early. As soon as she heard Rypere, she shot up, stabbing the man in the stomach with a spear and pulling him underwater, before launching herself up on to the piere and unsheathing her sword. Striking the men that came at her. The strength in her body came back as she fought, occasionally kicking the men into the water. Y/N noticed Rypere struggle with a man on top of him, causing her to jump on the man and pull him into the water with her.
"Y/N!" Rypere shouted as she fell back into the water, struggling to drown the man. The woman kicked, trying to grasp for air, as she grabbed his neck, paralysing him. The woman panicked as she watched the man struggle, swimming back towards the Pier still staring at him. Y/N panicked when she felt someone grasp onto her collar, lighting her out of the water. It was Uhtred.
"Thank you." Uhtred nodded, pointing to the Monk.
"Take Osferth, back to the boat." Y/N nodded, finally realising The Monks name.
"Osferth." Y/N grabbed his arm gently, pulling him back to the boat, allowing him to cry.
"Do not cry. You were not ready, Osferth." The woman gave him a slight awkward hug, causing the poor young man to fall straight into her arms. Y/N almost laughed. It reminded her of how she would cry into Hilds arms, afraid, and now someone had done the same to her.

Y/N shushed him, slightly rocking him.
"You are no coward, Osferth." Osferth whipped his eyes, looking at her.
"But I am Lady." Y/N shook her head, he wasn't. "I'll tell you something Osferth. The first time I held a sword I dropped it and ran in the other direction. It took years to gain that courage and I am still gaining it now." The woman held his hand with a squeeze, reassuring him.
"Lady. I-I saw you. I saw you fight like a warrior." Y/N laughed, shaking her head, she wasn't a warrior.
"It is true, Lady. I saw the way you dragged him into the water. The water wasn't your weakness." Osferth panicked when he saw Finan and Sihtric approached, dropping her hand. The woman grinned automatically, causing the two men to shake their heads.
"The baby monk is right." Uhtred said. "Y/N is a warrior. I saw her in the water, too. That takes a lot of strength to fight in the water."
"At least we found something Sihtric is good at." Clapa stated, walking alone, no Rypere in sight.
"And what is that?" Uhtred asked, still not happy about the increase in numbers.
"Humping and teaching Y/N." Clapa stated, causing Finan to roll his eyes.
"And what am I good at." Finan asked, still feeling insulted by their earlier discussion.
"Being a good husband." Clapa said plainly.

Uhtred silenced them so he could think of a new plan. Erik hadn't arrived yet, and they were beginning to worry.
"Something is wrong. Why increase the number of guards?" Uhtred spoke aloud.
"Do we care?" Finan spoke up, commentating on the situation.
"We go to the fortress." Uhtred said, getting up.
"We do?" Sihtric asked, they where all becoming tired, but they had to free Æthelflaed.
"We came to kill the guards." Osferth said.
"Bastard, you will say nothing." Uhtred spat, not linking the situation either. "The guards will soon be discovered missing. When they are its over. We cannot wait."
"Lord. We have lost our men. There are hundreds of them, both inside and outside the fortress." Sihtric stood up, giving up with the idea of breaking in Sigefrid's fortress.
"And a few more men will not be noticed." Uhtred said.
"I am not sending my wife to her death." Sihtric said angrily, looking at Finan, who looked to the ground, not saying anything.
"We go to the fortress."
