For months on end, Y/N searched with Hild to find Uhtred and Halig, who was sold by Guthred to become a slave. She travelled north to Northumbria to find Ragnar back down south to Wessex to Alfred. All in the name of finding Uhtred and Halig. No one would rest until they found something, anything, that would lead them to Uhtred and Halig. And one day, they got closer. Sihtric found a lead in Eoferwic, telling them to head there, and that is where Y/N and Hild went, taking Steapa and Ragnar with them.

They found a small slave camp on the outside of Eoferwic, set up with women and children. Very few men were seen.
"What sought of slavery is this?!" Y/N whispered, feeling naive at what she saw.
"They will be sold as pleasure whores." Ragnar said plainly, as he looked towards the slave owners.
"We would appreciate some water, for ourselves and the horses." Ragnar stated to the man in front of him before he climbed off his horse to help Y/N climb down from hers. Y/N followed Ragnar with anticipation as they approached the man, they believed to be called Jonis.
"You are Jonis?" Ragnar asked.
"I am." Jonis walked forward with a young boy, no more than ten.
"I have been told you took a man, a warrior, from Guthred of Eoferwic. You sold him as a slave." Jonis looked at Ragnar nervously.
"I see the faces of so many creatures."
"I'm not here to open your belly, Jonis." Ragnar interrupted as he pulled out a small bag. "I'll pay you."
"You will not feed the slaves." Jonis shouted at Hild. Y/N looked over a worried look on her face. Feeling frightened by those around her.
"And you will not back like a great fat hound!" Hild retorted, causing Ragnar to snicker as he pulled a coin out, tossing it to the young boy.
"A warrior slave called himself Osbert." Ragnar looked at Y/N, who nodded. Uhtred's father was called Osbert, which meant Uhtred must have used the name to keep himself hidden. Ragnar tossed another coin at the boy, waiting patiently.
"There was another man, smaller, Saxon." Ragnar looked at Y/N and Hild, who sighed. "A sea trader named Sverri took them both."
"Where's Severri now." Hild demanded.
"Wherever the sea and promise of silver takes him. Life at the oar is hard and short." Jonis looked at them closely before suggesting. "Sverri will return, I am sure. To refresh his crew."
"When?" Ragnar asked.
"Autumn and Winter will pass, come sprung. The first full moon after Sigr Blot, we will gather for business at the beach. Sverri will be there, I swear." Ragnar sighed angrily at Jonis' words. Sverri could return anytime or never.
"We will wait." Ragnar said, and they did.
