A few months had passed, and Y/N had gotten bigger. The infant in side her belly kicked and wriggled more as each day got closer. Y/N could not wait for the child to be born, but she feared her new life. Uhtred had promised that she would return to Cookham to bring up her, Finan and Sihtric's child, that Alfred had granted her, but Y/N still had not left Winchester. She still remained in Beoccas home with Finan and Sihtric, who never left her side, to the point they annoyed her with their constant worrying. Though the times had changed and the days became uncertain when news of Alfred's death reached them all. No one knew what that meant for Uhtred. What it meant for Y/N and her unborn child. She could not travel with uncertainty with her child. Not knowing where she would end up without a home. That was not a life for her child.
"I will not leave Winchester, I can not." Uhtred said as they tried to come up with another plan on what to do.
"Yu can, and yu must. My wife needs a home." Finan stressed, he had been promising to sort it for months. Sihtric had even suggested selling his arm rings to buy another home for her to settle.
"Not until Edward is King." Uhtred said sadly. He did not want this either.
"You promised Alfred this, as he promised Y/N to go back to Cookham." Beocca looked at Y/N, who stared into space as she rubbed her belly.
"If the promise of the pardon does not stay, then you can not stay and wait to be imprisoned and killed." Finan urged as he looked at his wife.
"Uhtred came here for a reason. For Ragnars blood." Thyra interrupted, trying to bring a purpose to them.
"Yeah! And watch me give birth on your bed." Y/N spat.

She did not mean to get so upset, but she had become frustrated. She hated it.
"Not another word, Sihtric." Y/N said. She could hear Sihtrics footsteps behind her. Sihtric placed his hands on her shoulders, rubbing them up and down.
"Let us go for a walk." Shitric suggested as he edged her forward. Y/N looked back at Finan with a huff before walking out of the house. Sihtric followed her silently. He knew she was fed up, but he did not know what else to suggest. Alfred's death put so many obstacles in place.
"Sihtric, I can not live like this." She spat, "I hate it here." Sihtric placed her forehead against his as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Tomorrow, we will return to Cookham!" Y/N pulled her head against his. "What?"
"I will take you away from here, and we will go back to Cookham." Sihtric repeated.
"But what about Finan?" Y/N knew Finan would stay with Uhtred. She would not blame him. "I will talk to him after the funeral. That you have to go to." Y/N turned round to see Hild waiting patiently for her.
"What about you?"
"I will wait in the Alehouse with Osferth. Do it for your sister."

Y/N followed Hild to the Church. A place she now did not feel comfortable in. Finan looked at her softly about to whisper to her when she spoke first, "your God hates me." Finan silently chuckled. His hands reached for hers as they watched Alfred's family enter.
"Stay with Hild." Finan whispered as he walked off in the direction of Steapa and his men. Y/N looked at Hild, who shrugged. Y/Ns eyes looked around for Thyra, but she couldn't find her. A knot started to form in Y/Ns stomach, telling her to leave and find her, but her head told her she was safer in the church. Her mind became conflicted. She knew if she left, something would happen, but her stomach kept telling her to move.

The God's were telling her to move. She could feel them push her forward, out of the church. As if they forced her to walk. Y/N picked up the hem of her dress and scurried out as fast as she could. Her body moved towards Beocca's home.
"Oh Lord." Y/N gasped when she saw Beocca's home on fire, "no. No. No" Y/N ran fast as she could to the Alehouse to find Sihtric.
"SIHTRIC!" She shouted, her hand fell towards her forehead. She did not know what to do.
"Y/N?!" Sihtric ran over concerned when she forced him forward, pointing to the flames.
"FETCH THE WATER! NOW!" Sihtric ordered as he pushed Y/N out of the way, but Y/N grabbed him. "She's inside, Sihtric. You have to get her out." Y/N croaked out. She felt helpless as she stood there and watched the house burn.

"Y/N! Oh good Jesus!" Finan shouted as he quickly looked at her before telling Osferth to find Beocca. Y/N held on to the gate in pain, her eyes watered as she watched.
"Sihtric? Is Thyra inside?" Sihtric nodded as he fetched more water. Finan gasped as he ran his hands through his head. Y/N yelped and fell to the floor, clutching at her stomach.
"Finan!" Finan grabbed her, trying to help her. "Y/N yu need to stay there." Finan went to move away when she grabbed pulled him back.
"Finan. Their coming! The babe is coming!" Finan stopped, his eyes widened when he realised what she said.
"I got yu. I got yu." Finan whispered as he picked her up, cradling her as he tried to find a safe place.
"Yur going to be okay, Y/N! Just hang on!" Y/N yelped out. Her hands clutched at his shoulders as she cried.
"Osferth!" Finan called. "Find Hild and tell her Y/Ns having the child now! Tell Sihtric." Finan growled.

Finan was becoming more stressed as he tried to find a place to put her down.
"Finan!" Y/N cried out when Finan placed her down, putting her back against a wooden fence. Finan looked at her worriedly. He had no idea what to do or how to make it better.
"Yur going to have to spread yur legs." Finan said as he shuffled her legs apart and pushed up the skirt to look.
"Finan. Let me look." Hild said as she pushed Finan out of the way to look.
"She is close." Hild said as she wiped Y/Ns forehead. "You can do it Y/N." Y/N shook her head. She did not want to.
"Thyra!" Y/N cried out. She wanted them to save Thyra. "Save Thyra." Finan grabbed her face harder than he intended. "Yu will not do this alone. Sihtric is there. I am not leaving yu Y/N." Y/N looked at his eyes. His muddy brown ones.
"She is already gone, isn't she." Y/N whispered her eyes, falling upon Hilds.
"Finan distract her. Her body will reject out of shock." Hild warned, "she needs push."

Y/N had not responded. Only staring blankly at Hild, causing Finan to panic.
"Y/N!" Finan croaked, "yu really need to push now!" Finan was sitting to panick.
"Y/N!" Finan shouted, causing her eyes to snap at his. "Yu've got to push woman! Now!" Y/Ns face scrunched up in pain as she gripped Finans' hand.
"Finan! I can't do it!" Y/N cried out. The pain was worsening. She could not do it.
"You can Y/N! The God's will help you. They will!" Hild promised as she stoked her leg. "The God's will." Hild grabbed Y/Ns free hand to place it on Sihtrics necklace. Y/N nodded, trying to push again. Until she stopped.

The pain had ceased, and a cry came through. A tiny little cry. One that only belonged to her child. Y/N looked up to see Hild wrap the tiny little child a blanket.
"It is a boy. You have been gifted with a boy." Hild said, placing her son into her arms. Y/N held the tiny little frail boy in her arms. Her eyes watered at the sight of him. Finan sat up on his knees impatiently to see his son.
"What will you name him?" Hild asked. Y/N wrapped the cloth tighter around her son, placing a kiss on his forehead.
"Cynlæf." She blurted out. It was the first thing that came out of her mouth.
"Cynlæf." Y/N repeated as she looked at Finan, who eagerly held his arms out, wanting to meet his son. Y/N carefully placed Cynlæf into Finans arms, who looked at his son carefully, a small smile spread across his face.
"Yur going to be a little warrior like yur mother."
