Y/N kept her promise and stayed at the camp in Beamfleot, but she did not stay inside the tent. Instead, she sat on the ground outside of her tent, watching the open field. Waiting for Sihtric and Finan to return all covered in blood. Except they weren't covered in blood. They were completely fine. Y/N went to approach, but Finan pointed at her, telling her to stay put, and she did. She stayed in that same spot holding her sword tightly as her feet began to stick in the snow.
"It's too quiet." Y/N mumbled to herself. The longer she waited, the more uneasy she felt and decided to approach when she saw Hæstens men. Deciding now to approach them, not caring about the promise she made to Finan. She would fight. She had, too. There were too many men.

Finan and Sihtric looked at her with disappointment as they saw her with her shield and sword, but neither said a word.
"Sheilds up." Uhtred commanded. Y/N placed her sheild up as she scanned the area. Dread filled her stomach, but it was too late for her to regret her decisions.
"Surround them! Give them no escape! And then we kill every last one of the bastards." Hæsten shouted. Y/N realised then it may be too late for all of them, as Hæstens men circled around them. Y/N gripped her sword over her shield, watching Hæstens men carefully.
"Give up Uhtred, and the rest of you will live." Hæsten taunted. "All I want is the Dane slayer!"
"What yu will get, Hæsten, is my sword up yur hairy arse." Finan shouted. Antagonising Hæsten.
"Where is Alfred's army. Why are they waiting." Sihtric asked. Their was fear in his voice. He knew they would not make it without Alfred's army. Y/N shook her head, accepting whatever fate had in store for her.

As soon as the Danes started to attack, Y/N dug her heels in the ground, standing firm, until a man struck her. She blocked it with ease before lifting her sword to stab them. Her heart raced in fear and anger, but she kept pushing forward. Striking them.
"SIHTRIC! NO!" Y/N stopped for a brief moment when she heard Osferths voice until something sliced her shoulder, bringing her back to reality. Causing her to drop her shield in pain, but she kept her stance. Even though her shoulder was screaming at her and blood started to spill in her mouth as she bit her tongue.
"Sihtric." Y/N whispered as she saw him struggle on the ground. With a grunt, she threw the man off of him, pulling Sihtric up with her good arm. Once Sihtric was up, she moved  back to slice the men that came towards her.

"Lord. It is Edward and his army." Y/N relaxed when she heard the cry of one of Uhtred's men.
"She's why we're here, Lord! Take her!" Finan shouted, knowing they were close to the end of the battle. Y/N tried to keep going. She tried to keep fighting with every bone in her body, but her legs were beginning to turn weak. The pain in her shoulder got worse. Making her sick and dizzy. She tried to hold her position and swing her sword, but she couldn't. Her legs could not hold her, any longer. Her legs gave out.
"Y/N!"Sihtric called, running towards her. "No. No. No." Sihtric panicked when he saw the wound on her shoulder. His arm touched the wound, trying to put pressure on it.
"You're going to be okay." Sihtric promised as he picked her up, awkwardly flinging her over his shoulder.

Sihtric scanned the area, looking for an opening so he wouldn't have to fight with her on his shoulder.
"Arrr." Sihtric grunted. There was no way through. "Y/N you need to hold on. I'll get you out of here." Sihtric swung his sword at the men in front of him. Trying to keep as much of her body safe as he pushed through, until he got to tent.
"Y/N." Sihtric tapped her face to keep her awake. Y/N watched in discomfort as Sihtric ripped her tunic before applying a wet cloth. Sihtric quickly sat on her, knowing she would not like what he was about to do.
"Bite on this." Sihtric placed another cloth in her mouth before she could even comprehend what he was about to do. Y/N shook in pain when she felt the needle go through. Her legs kicked out as she tried to push him off her.
"What happened." Finan gasped as he carried Osferth, placing him on the bed next to hers.
"Tend to Osferh. She is fine." Sihtric said as he concentrated on Y/Ns shoulder.
"Fin. She doesn't look fine." Osferth blurted out, as he saw Y/N thrash underneath Sihtric, who paid no attention to her discomfort, until it was completely stitched.
"It is done." Sihtric slid himself off of her before taking the cloth from her mouth. His hands reached to brush the blood and tears away from her face.

Just as Sihtric leaned forward to plant a kiss on her lips, Uhtred approached them.
"Y/N. Osferth." Uhtred leaned over to Y/N, patting her hand before doing the same to Osferths.
"Their alive, Lord. Maybe next time we'll be lucky, eh?" Finan said light heartedly. Y/N noticed Sihtrics glare and reached for his hand, making him look at her.
"Did you see me fighting, Lord? Though I hope I killed no man." Osferth said.
"You gave many a sore head. As did Y/N." Uhtred said, looking back at the woman who looked slightly uncomfortable. "Well, she might have killed them for you." Uhtred said in amusement. Sihtric rolled his eyes at the same time as he squeezed her hand in comfort.
"Sihtric." Y/N coughed out. Sihtric leaned over to help her sit up, his head brushing against hers. Y/N pushed her head slightly forward to place a kiss on his lips. Sihtric did not respond, only getting up to stand at the end of her bed, confusing her.
"I am I to die, Lord? I do not fear it?" Y/N looked at Osferth and then to Finan, who shook his head.
"Yu dare die baby monk, and I'll kill yu myself." Finan said before he got up to sit himself next to Y/N.
"We will return to Æthelflaed's Estate. Both of you will rest and recover there." Uhtred said.
"Yu hear what he said, woman. That means no moving." Y/N smiled at Finan and was about to respond when Sihtric spoke up.
"What of Skade?" Finan shook his head in frustration at Sihtric.
"Sihtric, it's a bad time." Finan said.
"She's been taken by Hæsten." Uhtred spoke with disappointment, not looking at any of them. Sihtric looked at Y/N before he looked at Uhtred, "then nothing has changed. We remain cursed still."
"I am cursed, Sihtric." Uhtred said.
"It touches all, Lord. It continues."
"Sihtric." Y/N coughed, trying to get up, while Finan held her down. Sihtric ignored her and continued to mention the curse.
"Sihtric, will yu get out." Finan shouted as he held his distressed wife.
"Sihtric." Y/N begged, but he refused to listen to her. Leaving her with Finan.
