During the days Y/N lived with Thyra, she had helped the woman pick out a nice wedding gown for the ceremony. Thyra had shown Y/N to face each day as it came, telling her not to fear the glances or the threats. She looked up to Thyra's strength, hoping to embody hers one day, but for now she spent it in her hooded cloak, avoiding the eyes. Her face had blackened in bruises, as her muscles felt sore. Y/N had even begged Father Beocca to not inform her sister of her injury, but knew it wouldn't last, as the bruises on her face where getting darker and darker. There was no way she would be able to hide them from Sihtric and Finan, nor avoid them. All she could was wait with Thyra for Uhtred and his men to return.

All her worries seemed to dissappear when she heard Sihtric and Finan's angry voice.
"Y/N?!" The two men, burst through the door, frantic faces filled the room, with an apologetic looking Beocca.
"I'm sorry. I had to tell them." Beocca sighed, raising his hands in frustration at the two men who rudely broke into his house.
"Lord!" Finan grabbed Y/Ns face glaring at the markings.
"Who did this to you?" Sihtrics voice was harsh, every bone in his body tensed at the bruised faced women before them.
"Answer him?" Finan said, tugging up her sleeves, checking her arms.
"I don't know. Some blacksmith. Thyra killed him." Sihtrics face relaxed. He came up behind her and hugged her, gently kissing her neck, Finan still holding her hands.
"I take it Father Beocca does not know?" Y/N shrugged at Finans words, unsure of the answer, she wanted to forget about what happened.

Finan sat back down on the chair, pulling the woman close to him, embracing her scent, trying not to touch her face.
"Did the dead man rise?" Y/N asked the two men, wanting to distract them from her bruised face. Sihtric poured himself a drink before explaining that Bjorn was a man pretending to be buried to spook Uhtred.
"Did Fin fall for it?" Finan grumbled, snatching the cup from Sihtric, who laughed. Sihtric did fear that the prophecy could have been real but normally prophecies and curses came from the living.
"Uhtred was a fool for even believing it for a moment." Sihtric grunted, not taking his eyes from hers face, it pained the two men to see her like this.
"I'm fine. It is only my face that hurts." Finan kissed the back of her head, squeezing her tightly before glaring at her pained face.
"That's it. Every man is a dead man." Sihtric nodded at his words pulling the woman up to gently lift up her top to find a dark bruise.
"We are not letting you out of our sight again." Finan agreed before storming off.
"FIN!" She called out, but Sihtric told her to let him go and clear his anger.

Sihtric, took the dagger that he left behind and smirked at it before looking at her. Kissing her bruised cheek gently before pulling her hair back, taking out the plaits before sitting her down.
"What are you doing?" Y/N felt Sihtrics hands brush through her hair before he started gently pulling at her scalp.
"Keeping the hair out of your face." Y/N sat quietly, feeling him pull and twist her hair, occasionally hissing as he tightened parts of her hair.
"SIHTT." Y/N hissed as she felt her head being pulled to the side so he can look at her. Quickly placing a kiss on her lips before carrying on.
"You look like a Dane." Thyra said, as she walked in with a basket full of food.
"I hope that is a good thing." Thyra nodded, nervously preparing lunch before her wedding.
"Will Finan join us?" Thyra asked, checking on how much she needed to make.
"If we find him." Thyra nodded continuing back to her work, while Sihtric added some beaded things in her hair.

"SIHTRIC IT HURTS." The woman cried out, she didn't like those metal beads, she would rather Sihtric have them in his hair and not hers.
"It is meant to hurt." Thyra explained as Sihtric waited patiently for the woman to calm down.
"Not the way he is pulling at my hair." Y/N tried to playfully bite Sihtrics hand, causing them to laugh. Sihtric turned her to look at him before kissing her softly, patting her head.
"Thank you Thyra. For looking after her." Thyra smiled at Sihtric, watching the two interact.
"It is no problem." She replied awkwardly. Sihtric grabbed Y/Ns hand pulling her up, taking her to find Finan. Sihtric's hand never once left hers.
"Tomorrow I will teach you to fight." His voice was blunt but he meant it.
"Finan will not agree." It was true, he would definitely not agree with Y/N learning how to fight.
"He must." Sihtric muttered.

Clapa noticed the two first making a comment about who the woman got into a fight with, but Y/N shook her head, only for Finan to walk passed with a bruised face.
"Who did you get into a fight with." Y/N remarked at Finan who had a light bruise on his face. The woman approached him lifting his head up with a smirk, amused at what Sihtric had done to her.
"Someone had said something about yu and I took action." Finan stated. Clapa shook his head, stating "it was not that bad." Finan frowned, kissing the woman while Sihtric glared. Finan pulled Y/N to his lap, while Sihtric gently rubbed her shoulders, trying to distract her from those who gossiped and stared.
"You're drinking water?" Y/N glared at the cup of water, surprised that Finan had chosen that type of liquid.
"Uhtred had asked us to stay sober for the wedding." Finan huffed as he looked at her, feeling incredibly guilty that he had left her alone to defend herself when they were not there.
