Talent Show

(Kai's POV)

My eyes remained glued to the clock at the top of classroom, ignoring whichever teacher was trying to teach us, only 2 more minutes and this school day will finally be over! I swear these days are getting longer and longer......

A sound of static suddenly came from the intercom speaker in the top left of the room, hurting my ears with a loud shriek, argh they've got to fix that thing! I don't know how much more my ears can take!

"Before the school day ends I wish to make an important announcement that I hope all students will be pleased to hear" Principal Andreasen's voice sounded from the speaker, once again hurting mine and everybody else's ears, if he's announcing a new speaker system that would be great! "The Great Devourer attacking our fair city no doubt caused us all a lot of stress, so to hopefully relieve some of that stress I am proudly announcing that tomorrow we will have Ninjago City High's first ever talent show!" Principal Andreasen seemed to say enthusiastically, it was pretty hard to tell with all the static

A talent show? Huh, I guess that could be fun, I mean hey if it gets us out of doing class then sign me up! I looked around the boring classroom to see what everyone else was thinking and it was mostly silence and groans, of course Chad and all his cheerleader friends were excited, those guys will take any chance to show off

"I hope that every student will participate, the winner of this talent show will receive a gift card to Chen's Noodle House so make sure your talent is the best!" Principal Andreasen informed us before finally giving our poor ears a break and turning off the intercom, only for our ears to once again be under attack by the bell, dismissing us for the day

As usual everyone hastily grabbed their things and bolted for the door, I wish I could have joined the human stampede but thanks to my ankle still being a little damaged I had to take my time in grabbing my crutches, slowly standing myself up and making my way towards the others who were patiently waiting outside the classroom, the nine of us left the school grounds and waved goodbye to Seliel before deciding to make the trip to Nya and I's place

"So, anyone gonna join that talent show tomorrow?" My sis asked everyone as she joined us in the living room, tossing me a can of my favourite soda which I gladly cracked open and enjoyed the cold taste of as I relaxed on one of our red couches "Seems like it could be a bit of fun" She said, sitting down on the armrest of the other red couch, taking a sip of her own soda

"I don't know, being judged by everyone in the school doesn't seem fun to me" Lloyd shrugged from beside Nya "Oh come on Lloyd, you out of all of us should enter" I started to tell the blonde teen "With everyone loving your father now you could use that to win the gift card and treat us all to a nice meal" I chuckled, earning an eye roll from the Green Ninja

I felt a sudden nudge from beside me, being from my beautiful girlfriend Skylor who smirked at me "What about you hot stuff? Why don't you enter that hair of yours as a talent? Nobody else has hair with that much height" She teased, with the other Ninja laughing, I couldn't help but laugh myself. I guess she got me there

"Actually, I think I'll enter the talent show" Cole said from beside the fidgeting Jay "Really? What would your talent be? Your muscles?" Skylor teased Cole like she did to me "Well I could do that, but I've been looking for an opportunity to show off some of my DJ skills so this seems like the perfect chance" The muscular teen told us

"Y'know what" Nya suddenly said as she jumped off the couch armrest, looking very excited about something "I'm gonna enter the talent show too!" She happily shouted, punching the air in excitement "I've been dying to ride my motorcycle some more so why not enter myself into the talent show with some awesome motorcycle tricks!" My sis told us all
