California was hitting different as the West coast really moved Robert as he saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time.

There it was, the huge enormous ocean was before him as he stood on the cliff almost being blinded by it's majesty. Fortunately he didn't have to share this view alone as he had his friends with him to gaze onto it. The travel to California was long treacherous and even growing for one of them.

Oscar had a bit of a growth spurt in the travel so now he was at least big enough to ride a horse. Though he had to learn on the go how to ride one. Since it took many weeks to reach California it had made Oscar adapt on the go as he was taught how to ride under Landon and his brother. So when he turned 11 years old he had a new horse bought for him for his present, a light brown Tennessee Walker he decided to call Quinn.

Old girl, Quinn, Zeus and Chief. The horses that belonged to Robert, Oscar, Shane and Liam stood eating the grass on the ground as the 4 of them gazed their eye's onto the open ocean.

"First time for us all right?" Liam asked, being utterly bewildered by the sight.

"The Pacific Ocean man, feels weird to see the sea again." Robert stated as he took a sip of gin from his flask before sharing it with the others.

"Fucking hell, I ain't see any ocean at all till now. It's beautiful...."Shane complimented.

"Really Shane?" Liam asked, not realising that only Shane had been born on the North American Continent whilst the others got on the boat over to it.

"We got the boat here, he's the only one who's born on this land. Just different country." Oscar explained.

They were in the Northern part of California where it was more deserted and where hardly anyone lived in the King Range region. Landon had reached out to a ranch that was seemingly deserted and yet there was plenty of canned food, rooms and a barn for the horses to stay. He said it was something that he had used every time he was in the north of California and that anyone who needed the place could stay but as long as they made the place replenished for the next person to use. It weren't meant for anyone to rock up and live in permanently, it were only meant for the best gunslingers to stay in.

It was called the Eagle's Rest as it faced the Pacific Ocean that was near a beach. They talked about how the training would go but it weren't how they expected it as Landon kept it to himself.

Many weeks had passed as all were under Landon's teachings learning about their guns. All started with him telling them the components of a revolver. This all had to be done being written as to remember. This in turn made Liam and Oscar very resentful as they were still behind Shane and Robert. Even more so when Landon made it where every friend is only as strong as their weakest link. So for a while Shane and Robert had to hold back on teachings till they had the O'Malley brother's knowing the components of other guns.

Then he taught them map skills and basic geography. This was where Shane struggled as when he was in Quebec public schools he hated learning Geography as he often kept getting confused whether to learn it in French or English. Robert wasn't much better as he only knew how to use a map from a city or what the Natives had said about living off on certain lands. Though whilst slow at first learning Landon knew to keep them updated and insisted the boys to continue reading books to keep learning well. For now the lessons were ongoing.

The gun shooting was what they all were looking forward to as they knew what to do and that they knew how each other could do. Another shooting range was constructed with the boys being the ones told to set it up as Landon had to get the bottles. This was done on purpose by Landon to see how they'd do together as a team. When he found it constructed by them he was proud but he instantly got them to shooting soon after.
