Long ago there lived a family ravaged by poverty and war. They had no home, no name, no country and no privilege. The head and mother of this big family, Rebecca, called upon her ancestors to save her family from death. They heard and sent her a Genie. A supernatural being that is an embodiment of an aspect of humanity.
That Genie's name was Marlin. Marlin was charged with saving this family but he had grown tired of the wickedness and whims of man. Genie magic was said to be the product of strong Human emotion and a Human's promise. They once roamed freely across Earth Land but humans grew scared of Genies and genies weary of humans.
Marlin had trauma. He decided to test this family to see if they were worthy enough to conquer him and command his power. Rebecca was cunning and kind and mighty and had no problem passing Marlin's three tests; the test of time, fortitude and empathy. Marlin made a contract with Rebecca's lineage and then stored himself into an object. He pledged to appear every generation to grant them 3 wishes but if the object ever fell into the wrong hands the Genie magic would be corrupted and their family would suffer.
With Marlin by her side Rebecca protected her village and it's lands and became well know around the area. She utilised her three wishes very carefully in order to secure the safety of the family she had created. Many envied and cursed her and her family even other genies around the area envied her friendship with Marlin. But Rebecca never raised a hand to exact revenge on them. Eventually Rebecca realised that genie magic was something that could make and break a life.
Marlin granted Rebecca the ability to reincarnate, blessed the work of her hand and gave her the fruit of the womb. "You are the best humanity has to offer Rebecca as you are Strong. In mind, in heart and Armstrong" Marlin said as he granted her final wish before returning to rest in wait for her next generation.
When Rebecca died the villagers who had seen her benefit from the Genie's gifts plotted to wipe out the rest of her family and steal the Genie. They nearly succeeded.
