After the funeral was the wake. Everyone came and stayed only a while before paying their final respects and leaving.
"So sorry for your loss" Noey said as they greeted us.
Freen, Nam, Toey and Lux followed closely behind. They all gathered up near Freen and Noey's car with somber looks on their faces.
"I heard all Khun Sa's underground operations are being raided and heavily pressed." Lux said
"It's only a matter of time before everyone can feel safe again" Nam said
Noey and Toey were staring at Freen.
"What?" Freen blurted out.
"We need to talk to you. In private." Baitoey said
They all stepped to the side for a moment.
"This may not be the right time or place for this but we can't keep this from you any longer." Noey said
"What is it?" Freen said
"It's about Becky." Baitoey said
"Your girlfriend?" Freen said
"Freen, you know as well as I do that me and Becky were never together." Toey said
"Whatever. Spit it out." Freen exclaimed
"Becky is dying." Noey said
Freen stepped back as if she momentarily lost consciousness and had to catch herself.
"What?" Freen said with a puzzled expression
"You know how Chen was close to their family. They were basically siblings, he told me, we were talking when the wall exploded and he seemed like he wanted to tell me something urgently. I don't know what he was going to tell me but Becky may not have much time left." Noey said
Freen instantly turned around and headed back inside but Toey stopped her.
"Freen, this is her brothers funeral. Although I understand how you may be feeling I think it may be better to wait. After all there may be a reason she didn't tell you." Toey said
Freen caught her breath for a moment then got in her car and left.
"So... I guess I'm going home with you?" Nam said
"Yeah get in." Noey said
"What did you two say to her" Nam asked "mind your business Nam" Noey said

The following day Freen went to the office. She didn't expect Becky to be back at work but every time a door would open she looked over in hopes it was her.
Freen's phone began to ring.
[OVER THE PHONE]
🖤: Hello?
🤴🏽: Sorry to disturb you.
🖤: That's okay. What is it?
🤴🏽: I wanted to let you know that we've destroyed all the Mukhtar underground links successfully thanks to Richie's software and have just captured Butcher. They'll be interrogating him shortly but all of the Mukhtar's network and money is gone. The only obstacle left us Khun Sa who it will be difficult to reach now with his budding political career. But don't worry, he can't go anywhere near you either.
🖤: What about Becky?
🤴🏽: We've set them up in a safe house for the time being.
🖤: ah ok.
🤴🏽: We'll handle it from here. Let's get back to planning our engagement party.
🖤: Right.
Freen sat in silence for a moment. She was so worried about Becky that she couldn't move. She wondered why Becky had kept it from her but also didn't because she hadn't been so inviting of forthcoming with her own thoughts and feelings lately either.

A week had passed when Freen finally got the news that Becky and her family were coming home because Khun Sa was deemed harmless now that he had lost his criminal enterprise. Freen was still a little unsure they would be safe but trusted Billy enough by now.
It was the day before her engagement party and she made sure to deliver Becky's invitation personally. Knowing no one was home Freen slipped the invitation under the door. She needed to see her, to speak to her and hoped she would come.
After dropping off the personal invitation Freen rushed into the city to meet Heng for coffee. He planned on flying out soon to Singapore so he could finally move all his stuff back to Bangkok now that the Muktar were no longer a threat.
"Speedy!" Heng said
Freen caught sight of Heng. He was sat across at a small table just outside the coffee shop.
"Hey!" Freen said as she sat down.
"I got you a vanilla latte" Heng said
"Thanks" Freen said checking her phone for the 3rd time since she walked into the shopping plaza.
"You were waiting on me hand and foot when I was injured but now you don't seem to care about me at all. I miss those days." Heng said
"Lol shut up" she replied with a smile.
Shortly after the coffee arrived Freen went silent again. She seemed to be lost in though and Heng noticed.
Heng had been watching Freen jolt her phone on and off the table in front of them checking for a text message from Becky.
"Are you excited about tomorrow?" Heng asked
"Yeah." Freen said
"I guess you're really going through with it then." He said
"Yeah..." Freen said
Heng took a sip of his coffee.
"Is Becky coming?" Heng asked in a cheeky manner.
But Freen ignored Heng.
