Becky came out of the shower feeling refreshed. She entered her room with a smile on her face and a new zest for life.

"How are you feeling?" Marlin asked
Becky's eyes lit up as she rushed to hug Marlin.
"Thank you." Becky said
Marlin smiled.
"So that's it? The curse is broken?" Becky said
"Yes, left up to you we may never have broken the curse." Marlin replied
"I would have done it... eventually" Becky replied
"Well, we're even now Rebecca." Marlin said
"What?" Becky asked
Becky leaned in.

"Nothing. Now about your wish. I know you're eager to save your friend's.. uh more than a friend's...brother. But first I have to explain the terms and conditions of genie powers." Marlin said
Becky sat on the foot of her bed and leaned back onto her elbows.
"Terms and conditions?" She said

"There are the three cardinal rules of genie magic. You already know them." Marlin said
"One, You can't kill. Two, You can't make someone fall in love. Three, You can't bring someone back from the dead." Becky replied

"And you know the blessing from those three wishes is usually sustained in every generation." Marlin said
"Yeah, you said Rebecca wished for the ability to reincarnate, the fruit of the womb and blessings on the work of our hands which is why we're lucky." Becky said

"Yes, but there are more tricky stipulations to follow also. Things which are less specific to me, and more general genie know hows." Marlin said
"Okay..." Becky listened harder
A scroll appeared in Marlin's hand and he opened it up to read.

"Let's see, where should I start...
1. You cannot usurp genie magic. If you do manage to acquire the powers of the genie, you will most likely also trigger the transfer of a curse.
2. All wishes are subject to the interpretation and whims of a genie. While we can understand humans, a genie's world view and priorities differ." Marlin said

"Urmmm... wait so there are more genies that exist in this world?" Becky asked
"That's your takeaway?" Marlin said
"What? So where are they?" Becky said
"None of your business." Marlin replied
"You made it sound like our family was special when all this time you were only a small drop in a mighty ocean?!" Becky said
"Not my..." Marlin said
"I'm just asking" Becky said

"Anyway.. this next one is important:
3. Not all genies grant wishes. And not all wish granting genies will grant three wishes. Some may grant any number of wishes. That depends on the genie." Marlin said

"So instead of 3 wishes... can I..." Becky said
Marlin rolled his eyes.
"Focus." Marlin said
"I'm listening" Becky replied

"Right...
4. There are 4 genie kingdoms and so 4 different lineages. The four types can be identified by their colour; pink, blue, green and purple. Watch out for purple genies. They hate humans." Marlin said

"I'm feeling a little more unsafe than I did before I acquired this knowledge. What if there are purple genies roaming around me?!" Becky said
"I'd be able to sense them" Marlin replied
"Oh" Becky said
"Can I finish?" Marlin asked
"Go ahead" Becky replied

"Lastly,
5. Wishes that can be granted cannot exceed the powers and capability of the genie in question. If a more powerful genie has made a wish happen one way, you cannot have a weaker genie undo that wish." Marlin said
"Right" Becky said

Marlin giggled, "anyway, are you ready for your first wish?"
"Yes!" Becky said
"...go on" marlin said
"I wish that Heng was found safe and sound!" Becky said

Marlin closed his eyes, snapped his fingers and shook his head.
"Done" Marlin said
"Wait really?" Becky said
"Really." Marlin replied
"That easy?" Becky asked
"That easy." Marlin said
