"What is it?" Marlin asked
"Is there anything else that I need to know before we do this? Anything from my past that I don't already know?" Freen asked
Becky and Marlin looked at each other.
"What is it??" Freen continued

"Well... You know how I said that the reason I killed you was due to the influence of purple genies. I wasn't the one who was under the influence of purple genies when I killed you. It was you." Becky said
"What?" Freen said
"Yes, Wilden had targeted our family due to our renown and power which he saw as an affront to his philosophy. For genie and humans to be teaming up again was enraging to him." Becky explained
"The influence of purple genie is usually brief and erratic but Wilden was in possession of the genie crown which amplifies the power of the genie king." Marlin said

"So what he forced me to fight you?" Freen said
"No, he planted a seed of influence so deep into your soul that it took root and turned you mad. You turned into a psychopath. You began to kill animals and livestock, then children and eventually ripped through entire villages in one night." Marlin said
"I became a serial killer?" Freen asked
"Yes." Becky said
"Wow." Freen said
"The day I took your life you nearly killed our son. I had no other choice, we had tried everything." Becky said

Freen took a deep breath in.
"And you still want to save the purple genies? That's so you." Freen asked
"It's not their fault." Becky said
"What happened to them historically is not their fault but what they've done with that pain since then is their responsibility though." Freen said
"I will only attempt to bargain with them once." Becky said
"We both know that's not true. You'll try everything you possibly can to help them." Freen said

Becky sighed
"Don't worry Sarocha, this time I won't let her sacrifice more than they deserve." Marlin said
"Ok. And don't call me that. It's weird." Freen said

Freen left the kitchen and went up to her room. She fell to her knees sick at the thought that she had killed so many people and nearly killed her own children in a past life.

Marlin peeped into the room from the doorway.
"Can I come in?" Marlin said
"Knock yourself out." Freen said
"I can see you're taking this hard." Marlin said
"It's hard to understand. Purple genies are to be feared, if this is their power, if this is the repercussion of their power. Am I wrong for thinking and saying that?" Freen asked
"No." Marlin laughed
"You're laughing?" Freen asked
"Sorry it's just that we've had this conversation before." Marlin said

"We have?" Freen asked
"Yes, except I was the one saying what you just said." Marlin said
"Oh." Freen said
"Do you know what you told me?" Marlin asked
"You said, 'The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story. They erase individuality and innocence which destroys individuals and the innocent, and so the cycle of misunderstanding continues.'" Marlin quoted
"Doesn't sound like me at all. Lol. Anyway... You're right." Freen smirked
"You're not so different from the Sarocha I knew." Marlin laughed

"I feel sick knowing what I have done in my past life. I wish I didn't know." Freen said
"Becky didn't want to tell you." Marlin said
"She was trying to protect our family and me." Freen said
"Yes. Also why she wished for you both to reincarnate." Marlin said

"What do you mean?" Freen asked
"Do you know why people reincarnate? To atone for their past sins. On the one hand reincarnation can be filled with guilt if you remember your past life but it doesn't have to. It can be a chance for a new and redeemed life again and again. Atonement ends suffering it's not supposed to prolong it. Don't be trapped in a fate worse than death, continually mourning your losses and dwelling on your mistakes. You  didn't even have any control over it. You must believe in your ability to release yourself from that fate. You must go on."
