Freen burst out of her office and turned to her secretary "AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO WARN ME ABOUT THINGS LIKE THIS?!"

She stormed down the corridor to her grandmother, the CEO's office. Her grandmother looked up displeased at the commotion so after greeting her with a bow Freen shut the door.

"Grandmother, have you seen this?" She asked holding up the latest issue of positioning magazine the leading business magazine in Thailand.
"Freen Chankimha, from the most promising business mind of her generation to a kept woman" she reads trying to hold her composure in front of her grandmother.

Her grandmother got up to grab a bottle of water from her mini fridge. She took a sip and giggled.
"Freen do you know what they used to say about me?" She mused
Freen stared at her with intensity, she didn't understand what was so funny.
"They called me the steel woman. Said that I was unfeeling and ruthless. Said that I was supposed to be born a man." She continued

Grams made her way back to sit behind her desk. "That's the world of business child, pay them no mind Freen, you've proved yourself several times already", she said
"Hmm, but once we're married, will I become a kept woman?" Freen asked sincerely

"No granddaughter of mine is a kept woman in any sense of the word" Grams replied without looking up and with a tone of certainty.

Freen's grandmother was tough and unfeeling but if nothing else she was an incredible motivator.

Freen exited her grandmothers office throwing the magazine in the nearest bin as she made her way back to her own office.

She had not sat down for up to 5minutes when there was a knock on her door. It was Nam.

"Fee! What did you do? The girl outside is crying." Nam said while letter herself in.
Nam sat infront of Freen and crossed her legs.

"Anyway, Todays the day! Are you excited?!" Nam said letting herself in while making a lot of noise.
"Today?" Freen asked
"Yes! Your dress fitting dummy!" Nam confirmed
"Oh." She replied

"Oh?? Freen this is the day I've been waiting for and all you can say is oh?!" Nam insisted
Freen rolled her eyes at how excited Nam was
"It would have been more exciting if I married someone I liked" Freen said

Nam was taken back.
"Of course, but this was the choice you made and insisted upon so the least I can do is make it fun and exciting or at least more bearable for you" Nam reassured her
"You're making it unbearable" Freen said shaking her head

Nam sighed.
"Have you heard from the girl?" Nam asked
"What girl?" Freen said
"Becky. Noey told me" Nam replied
"Can't live a private life in this city, everyone is a gossip" Freen said rolling her eyes
"Freen, it's been weeks, if you haven't heard from the girl since that night I think it's safe to say she's moved on" Nam advised
"Mmm... I know" Freen said

As much as it would have been easier for Freen to accept what Nam was saying, something inside her would not allow her to. She believed she at least owed it to herself and to Becky to admit how she felt openly to her at least once. However, she was unsure of when next she would get the opportunity.

"You've worked so hard building on your parents legacy, I won't let you give all that up because of family mismanagement and personal feelings. You're better than that" Nam continued changing her usual friendly and warm expression to a stern and firm one.

As Freen looked up at Nam, Nam could see in her face that she was conflicted.

"Hey! Remember in school when I wanted to play football but after 2 weeks I didn't make it into the team so I wanted to give up on everything?" Nam reminisced
"You didn't let me and eventually I became team captain. When I started acting you encouraged me not to give up and look at me now. I'm not going to let you give up on everything that you've built."

Freen looked up at Nam and gave her a side eye "you're being nice today" she said "why are you being nice today?"
"Shut up and look, every time you and Non are seen out in public stocks in all the MonSam Group companies go up in value. It's working Freen" Nam says
"Maybe" Freen replied sitting back in her chair

Nam glanced at her watch, "it's time to leave if we're going to beat the traffic and make it there in time" Nam considered

Freen packed up her things into her bag and rushed out the door with Nam in tow.

When they arrived there was a large crowd outside the venue already and in the midst of them she saw her soon to be husband, Non.

"What are you doing here?" Freen asked
"I missed you" Non said

Freen grabbed Non by the hand pulling him to the side, "what are you doing?" Freen asked again
"I came to see my beautiful bride" he said
"And gathered every publication in the city on your way here?" She continued

"Well, I have to keep up appearances. It's been a few weeks since we were last spotted together" he confirmed
"Whatever, just smile and wave but you're not coming inside" she said gritting her teeth and forcing a smile
"I wouldn't dream of it" he said, with a grin on his face.
