Chapter 60

The last couple of days were heaven... We took Bear for walks around the lake... Had breakfast watching out over the lake and it was just so relaxing and serene... The days went by i was finally relaxed and doing much better. The anxiety is gone... And i was getting more secure in my pregnancy... I started to do Yoga again in the morning to great frustration of Steve... Most of the times when i did Yoga he took Bear out on a run... 

I just love it here... I love the water and the serenity of it all... I love this neighborhood and the people are all so nice... Next to us lives this little old lady and yesterday she came by with homemade cookies to introduce herself... But i think she stopped by to take a closer look at Steve...

I could see it in the little twinkle in her eyes when Steve held out his arm for her to take to help her in... He was so sweet to her... Maybe it was because officially she was only a few years younger than him for a 92-year-old she was still quite spunky... He was an old man stuck in this young godlike body... 

They had talks about the good old days and it was sweet to witness... I would make her tea and i would sit there listen to their stories. She told him about how they were as a family huddled around the radio listening how Captain America had sacrificed himself to save the world... And how she was listening to the radio when he was found...

"Does he take you dancing every now and then?" She asked me and i smiled... "He does..." I answered and she sighed... "Not that god awful dancing they do now a days but like we did back then..." I shook my head... "I haven't had the pleasure yet... But we danced at a party like that... He swung me around and it was amazing..." I said winking at Steve who blushed. 

I asked her how long she has been living next door and she told me over 50 years... But that it was getting harder... She didn't come upstairs anymore, and maintenance was getting harder because the other day the plumber ripped her off by taking her money and not doing the work. 

"Steve can take a look..." I said smiling and he nodded... So, after tea he escorted her home and helped her out with her plumbing problems... I chuckled when i took the plate of cookies she said she baked but i found part of the wrapper under one of the cookies... I laughed and shook my head... "Touché... Touché..." I said smirking and put the cookies away... 

Steve came back half an hour later saying it was a bigger job and he was going to the store tomorrow to get some things to help her out... I showed him the piece of wrapper of the cookies, and he laughed... "It was nice talking with someone about the past... Someone who has been there..." He says as he pulls me into his arms... "Should i start to worry? Are you going to leave me for the neighbor... Is the age difference really is going to be our downfall..." I said joking and he grinned... "Oh princess you are never getting rid of me... You are mine... And i am yours..." He murmurs before he kissed me passionately. 

"She did tell me i should take you out on a proper date to go dancing..." He murmured into the kiss and i giggled. "Or we could have a dance right now..." I whispered and Steve smiled... He pulled out his phone and put on some music before taking me in his arms dancing with me. I smiled and put my head on his chest humming because i loved this... Bear not understanding what was going on tried to wriggle his way in between us. 

I giggled but told him to back off i didn't want to share Steve right now. After dancing for a little while longer we stopped and took Bear on another walk... 

So, this is how we were spending our days... In pure bliss... The next day Steve went to the store to get some supplies and after that he would go over to our sweet little old neighbor. I decided to have a lazy day so in cuddled up on the couch with Bear and watched movies... I didn't even make it through the first one before i dozed off... 

I felt the remote being pulled out my hand and a kiss being planted on my forehead... I then felt a blanket being pulled further over me... Another kiss and then a nasty smell coming of him and i pulled a face... "You stink..." I mumble still half asleep... I felt his presence disappear. I let out a hum and just fell asleep again. 

I dont know when but i woke up to Steve coming down the stairs freshly showered... I gave him a lazy smile and held out my hand... He took it and i pulled him down with me on the couch. "I need cuddles..." I murmur and i smile as he wraps his arms around me and hugs me tight.  "Any chance you going to need food to..." He asks and i smile... "Yessss can we order pizza..." I say smiling and he chuckles and nods. "Sure princess..."  

"How did it go this afternoon?" I ask and Steve chuckles... "It was a bit of work out, but it is all done now... I got a lot of fresh baked cookies..." He said smirking. 

And so, the days passed on... It was so nice and peaceful... We were here for 12 days now, and we have gotten into this nice routine. It was so nice and normal no chaos like the compound could be... Sometimes i would miss the compound but then Steve appeared, and it was all forgotten...
