JOSEPH POV
I need to pee. REEEEALLY bad. But Billy was asleep in my arms, Lucy asleep next to us. We still had three hours left of our flight and I knew I wouldn't make it another ten minutes without having an accident.
I'd been trying to sneak out from underneath Billy for the past 15 minutes but every time I moved he'd start to stir, making me freeze. He'd been as good as gold the whole flight. I didn't want to ruin the last few hours by upsetting him.
Just when I was starting to get so desperate it was borderline painful I realised a pair of hazel eyes were studying my face. "Joe?" "Mmm?" "Do you have to pee?" "Luce I'm bursting!" She cracked up laughing at me before sitting up and flawlessly taking Billy so he didn't stir.
"How the fuck?" "Ninja mum moves. Now go pee." I shot out of my seat into the tiny airplane bathroom, the whole time I was in there thinking why would anyone want to have sex in here? It's a toilet. And it's tiny. There's no way Lucy's long legs would fold up enough to fit in-....although....if I sat down there and had her....STOP IT! You will not have sex with your girlfriend in an airplane toilet!
When I came out of the bathroom sighing in relief, I smiled down at Lucy and Billy. She was half asleep, dozing with him curled up on her lap and her chest. I had a new found respect for parents who travel with children. When I sat down I held my arms out for him until she said "Nuh uh. You had him the whole flight. You try and get some sleep." "Darling I'm fine honestly. I napped with him lying on top of me."
She answered me by simply lifting the armrest in between us and snuggling up under my arm, Billy still asleep on top of her. I held her tighter and brushed Billy's hair away from his face with my free hand before pressing a kiss to both of their foreheads. Eventually the three of us dozed off in a happy, warm pile, only waking when the stewardesses began making rounds getting everyone ready for landing.
Billy woke up with a grumpy little frown on his face. The stewardesses quickly distracting him with colouring in and more cartoons. Lucy was still dozing with her head lolling until I pulled her into my side again. I had one baby in my lap because he was too small for his own seatbelt, along with another giant baby snuggled in to my side because she was sleepy and loved burrowing in to me.
She eventually woke up properly on our approach in to LAX and had her face pressed up against the window as she studied the Hollywood hills, Santa Monica Pier and the rest of LA. "Joe I can see the Hollywood sign!" She turned to me with a grin and then returned to pressing her nose up against the window. I chuckled at her excitement and then looked down at Billy who looked up at me with Ollie's big blue eyes.
"You excited to see Mickey and Minnie buddy?" "Mitty!" I gave him a little squeeze and then held on to him as we landed. We had a smooth landing, and being in first class got off the plane straight away. Thanks for that Richard and Sarah. Really does make life so much easier. After switching our phones off from flight mode we both sent a quick text to everyone at home saying we had landed safely and then got through customs and security quickly.
Now we can officially start our holiday. Sort of. Day after tomorrow I had my table read. And I was absolutely shitting myself.
LUCY POV
We'd organised a hire car with a baby seat so headed straight to the car rental stands before making our way slowly through the traffic of LA. As soon as Joe pulled out of the rental car lot he pulled on to the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic forgetting the road rules were back to front here. "JOSEPH!" Joe yelped and I squealed before he mounted the median strip and pulled on to the right side.
We looked at each other wide eyed before bursting in to laughter. "Fuck! Sorry darling! I knew I was going to do that!" We both continued giggling as I attempted to navigate, eventually arriving at Disneyland after an hour or so. The valets helped us unload our luggage before taking the car to park it and we made our way in to the hotel.
