OLIVER POV

Tonight was the night. Mum and Louisa were both in their element. Lucy and I were engaged and tonight we were celebrating. The marquee was back at mum and dads, Lucy was off with her future bridesmaids and both mums getting dolled up, and the boys and I had snuck off for a cheeky joint. It had become tradition at any big event in our group.

We thought we got away with it. But then my dad and Lucy's dad Bill walked outside and we all froze. David and I were expecting a bollocking. All of us said "shit" under our breath. But then dad reached out to me and said "gimme that. Your mother is driving me up the fucking wall" and inhaled deeply on the joint before passing it to Bill who did the same. The rest of us cracked up and then all of a sudden I said "oh shit! This kind of craziness doesn't end when you get married does it?!" "Nope" both dads replied. Bill wrapped an arm around my shoulders and said "my daughter is as batshit crazy as they come Oliver. You're a brave man."

We sat around talking rubbish for a while until the subject of what I was wearing that night came up. David began to cackle. "I can't believe she got you wearing pink!" Before he made a whip noise. Dad smacked him upside the head and said "hey dickhead! Your little brother is getting married before you so he's doing something right!" Making the rest of us laugh.

I'll admit I was wary of the pink at first. But mum, Louisa and Lucy assured me it would match Lucy's dress perfectly. And when I saw Lucy's face light up when I agreed to wear it I couldn't give a fuck what colour my tuxedo jacket was. I'd do anything to see my fiancée smile like that.

It wasn't so bad was it?

Lucy made me try it on in front of her, and not gonna lie. We had sex literally 4 minutes later. She wouldn't let me see her dress until the party. Even though I nagged 100 times and insisted that only applies to her wedding dress.

I couldn't wait to see her. She'd crashed at Nikki and Joes last night. Joe crashed at our place, so both of us missed our girlfriends like crazy, but I knew the wait would be worth it.

I was a little nervous about seeing Olivia this evening. It would be the first time Lucy and I had seen her since she bad mouthed Lucy's family at my 21st birthday. And I was honestly convinced Lucy was going to punch her as soon as she saw her. If she spoke to either of us this evening, it would be made abundantly clear she was here as a courtesy invite. Her parents were genuinely great people. No idea what happened with their daughter.

She'd called David about a week ago to ask what colour Lucy was wearing to the engagement party. He said he'd get back to her but had spoken to Erin, who we all loved instantly. Erin straight up said "she's going to wear what ever colour you tell her Lucy is wearing." So David told her Lucy was wearing black. Erin laughed and told David he 100% did the right thing.

I couldn't wait to see Lucy. Nikki, Camille and Hannah as her bridesmaids had banned us from seeing each other until we were ready and dressed for the night, saying it was a practice run for the actual wedding. The suspense was killing me. I knew she'd be the most beautiful creature on the planet. Because she already was. But the suspense was killing me.
