"Y/N!!" Haneul knocked on your door, shouting your name. You sleepily rolled over and looked at your phone. It was only 5:00 am but Haneul was already up and ready to go for the day. Sometimes you hated that she was such an early riser, but it did help that you never missed work. "I want to know what happened last night! Come to the kitchen when you're done getting ready for work." You sighed and got out of bed, sitting on the edge of the mattress for a minute before getting up. Even though you would much rather stay home, you had to go to work eventually.
"Good morning." You yawned and grabbed a box of cereal out of one of the cupboards. Before sitting down, you grabbed a spoon, milk, and a bowl. Barely keeping your eyes open, you sat down with your breakfast and poured the cereal in the bowl. You glanced up, a little startled to see Haneul staring at you intently from across the dining room table. She had a big smile on her face and didn't seemed to be bothered by the fact that it was only 5:30 am. "What's that face for?" You raised your eyebrow, questioning her before taking a bite of your cereal.
Haneul just shook her head and took the cereal box, grabbing a handful of dry cereal before setting it back down on the table. "This face," she said pointing at her face, "is because I want to know how last night went! I didn't listen into the conversation. I promise. I did realize how late you were talking though. As much as I wanted to stay up and get the update, I was exhausted.
You shyly smiled and took another bite of cereal before answering your roommate. "Well... it was a real number." Haneul's smile impossibly grew bigger as she nodded for you to continue. "We did end up talking for a really long time and she seems like a really cool person. I mean, I know that idols are people, but it felt like I was talking to one of my friends from back home." You paused and took a few more bites of your cereal before talking. Haneul looked like she was hanging on to your every word and she kept on leaning closer and closer to you as you continued with your story. "Eventually we both realized how late it was getting... and she may or may not wanttoseemeafterworktoday." You blurted the last part of this sentence out quickly, immediately getting embarrassed.
You covered your now red face and Haneul was practically laying on the table, shaking your arms. "Holy shit! Do you know what this means, y/n!?" She excitedly said, getting up from her seat at the table. "You're practically going on a date with Son Chaeyoung."
All you could do was roll your eyes as you got up to put your empty bowl in the dishwasher. "Yeah sure she is. I'm sure she just wants to hang out as friends." You shook your head and turned to her, checking your watch. It was still too early to head to work but you didn't really want to see Haneul explode in excitement as you waited to go to work. "I have to go to work, but I promise I will keep you updated." You said this as you placed a calming hand on her shoulder.
Work went by surprisingly fast and before you knew it, it was time to go home. As you were putting your things away, you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. You pulled it out and were met with a text from Chaeyoung. You didn't know why, but your heart started to beat a little faster as you opened it.
(Twice) Son Chaeyoung: Hi y/n! If you're still up to hang out I'll be at this address in about 20 minutes. Hope to see you there! :)
You took a deep breath, your expression calm on the outside, but on the inside you could feel butterflies in your stomach trying to break out. You texted her back that you were excited and slipped your phone back in your pocket. Where Chaeyoung wanted to meet was right across your office so you decided to head there early.
The tea that you ordered was too hot to drink so you sat there by the window, getting more nervous as time ticked on. Why am I nervous? It's not like this is a date. Right? You asked yourself this as you kept checking your watch, only making yourself more nervous with each passing second. Your leg was bouncing up and down a mile a minute and your hands were shaking a bit. To try and distract yourself, you pulled your phone out and scrolled through social media.
