She held the whole universe in her smile and Jihyo wanted to see that smile until the end of time. When they first met, they were trainees. Sana spoke little to no Korean and Jihyo desperately wanted to talk to the girl. Slowly but surely, they became close and Sana's Korean improved. As time went on, Jihyo's friendly curiosity turned into something more. The only problem was, she couldn't tell if Sana felt the same way. Each little glance and each subtle touch set Jihyo's skin on fire, but she knew that's just how Sana was. She was the queen of skinship.

During their third year anniversary as a group, the girls did a VLive. There were cakes and decorations and laughter and excitement filled the room. For almost two hours they played games and answered Once's burning questions. Usually, Jihyo would be able to deal with Sana clinging to the other members, but today she felt extra sensitive towards it. Maybe it was because Sana had decided to sit beside Dahyun. Maybe it was because she had only looked her way a few times over the past hour. Whatever it was, she could feel her jealousy growing.

After the VLive ended, the girls all wanted to go out and celebrate more. Well, all but one. Jihyo quietly slipped out of the room with her bag, set on going home to deal with her emotions alone. This didn't go unnoticed by Sana though. She noticed the leader of their group sneak away. She normally wouldn't be bothered by her wanting to spend time alone, but Jihyo had been so excited for this all day. She had been talking non-stop about how fun it was going to be to spend their third anniversary with Once and then to do more partying afterward.

Sana excused herself from the group, letting them know that she'd catch up and jogged down the hallway, looking for Jihyo. She pulled out her phone, ready to call the girl but looked up just in time to see the elevator doors start to close. She quickly ran forwards a few steps and stuck her leg in the door, forcing them to open again. Sana silently stepped on and stood beside Jihyo. The tension in the elevator was almost palatable and even though they were only going down four floors, it felt like 10 minutes had passed.

Jihyo quickly stepped off the elevator, dead set on getting in her car and driving away without the blonde who was following just a few steps behind her. She almost made it into her car but stopped, her hand on the driver side door handle as she heard Sana quietly call out her name. Jihyo sighed and turned around.

The two girls silently looked at each other for a few seconds before Sana broke the uncomfortable silence. "Jihyo what's wrong? You were so excited about this event all day and now you're acting like all you want to do is go home and not talk to anyone for the rest of the week." Sana took a step forward, Jihyo a step back, bumping into her car.

Jihyo just stared at Sana, unable to form a coherent thought in the fog of jealousy and anger that was clouding her mind. She opened her mouth to speak but stopped, pinching the bridge of her nose. She leaned her head back against her car and sighed. She took another second before she started to speak, years of unspoken feelings and emotions all coming out at once. "Do you seriously not understand what you're doing to me? Do you not feel the way my skin practically starts boiling each time you touch me? Do you not see the jealousy I feel every time you're holding another member's hand or making them laugh?"

Now it was Sana's turn to stare back. She was confused. Was she making Jihyo uncomfortable? Had she taken things too far? "Jihyo I'm sorry if I made you uncom-" Jihyo held her hand up to stop her. She took a few steps closer, effectively closing the gap between them. They were mere inches apart now and Sana's heart started to speed up. Jihyo's was doing the same and her palms started to sweat. She swallowed and took another breath before she spoke.

"Sana, each time you touch another member or look at them, I want to just take you away. It's been three years and I can't handle it anymore. I can't handle the subtle touches and the glances you throw my way. They drive me insane and I can't control the way I feel anymore. I can't contain the jealousy I feel every time you're not looking at me or talking to me. It hurts and I..." Jihyo paused, taking an impossible step closer. She was so close to the other girl now that she could feel her breath on her lips. "I love you, Sana. I don't want you to look at anyone else. If I hold this in any longer..." Before Jihyo could finish, Sana mumbled a hushed "shut up" before closing the small gap that was between them. The kiss wasn't long but it held every answer that Jihyo had been searching for for years. Her lips were as soft as she thought they would be.
