POV: Daryl protects you from gunfire.

Daryl and Y/N crouched behind a car, the sound of gunfire ringing in their ears. They had been caught in the middle of a crossfire between two groups of survivors, and they were trapped.

"We have to get out of here," Y/N said, her voice shaking.

Daryl nodded, his eyes scanning the area for a way out. But before he could say anything, a bullet whizzed past his ear, and he knew they were in trouble

"Get down!" he shouted, throwing himself on top of Y/N.

The gunfire continued, but Daryl didn't move. He held Y/N close, his body shielding hers from the bullets. He could feel her heart pounding against his chest, and he knew that they were both scared shitless in this situation.

But he also knew that he had to keep her safe. He had promised her that he would protect her, and he wasn't going to break that promise.

The gunfire eventually stopped, and Daryl cautiously looked up. The survivors had retreated and the two were alone.

"Are you ok?" he asked, helping Y/N to her feet. She smiled with a nod, "thank you Daryl."

Daryl smiled, "my job is to protect you, no need to thank me little sis" he whispered.
