Bucky had managed to find room in the backseat for all of the bags, and when you stopped at the compound he snuck down a black set and a pink set of towels for the two of you for the cabin. He had a prideful look on his face as he set them on your lap, and you noticed there were extra face cloths on top. He gave you a wink, and peeled out of the parking lot. He made a point to pick up Starbucks on the way home and you sighed at a day well spent. When you got home the bags, and boxes for everything Bucky had bought at Best Buy were sitting on the front porch and he grinned excitedly. You started mentally calculating how long it would take to bring everything inside. Bucky parked the car and he sat back in his seat, taking off his seat belt. You both looked out at the cabin through the front window and he gave a soft sigh.
"What are you thinking about?" you asked curiously.
"You deserved better growing up. I can't believe that your folks just wrote you off like that" he shook his head, and picked up his coffee cup and took a sip.
"I can't say I'm all that surprised. I mean I am, but..." you sighed and took your cup and sipped at it thoughtfully.
"Is Kate trustworthy?" he asked, sparing you a glance.
"I like to think so" you nodded, thinking she had never given you a reason not to trust her.
"Good. I'm still coming for girls night" he chuckled.
"Bucky" you rolled your eyes.
"Your safety comes first" he reminded you.
"Maybe Wanda or Nat will come," you suggested.
"If either of them come, then I'll let them take over" he relented.
"Bucky, at one point, you are going to have to be okay with me going out on my own again" you said softly, and you saw him grimace in response. "It's not today, but at one point sweetie," you reached out and put your hand on his shoulder.
"I'm not ready yet, but I'll make sure I am eventually" he nodded, turned in his seat and leaned in to give you a kiss on the cheek. "We had better get to it," he sighed.
"We do have a lot to bring in and put away," you quickly agreed.
"How about I'll bring everything in, and you get started on putting everything away. I'll make sure to set up the TV and gaming systems and you can read once we are all done," he suggested.
"No, I can help bring everything in," you started to argue.
"Let me do the heavy lifting. Besides, you need to decide where everything is going to go" he said with a hopeful lilt in his tone.
"I'll help bring in the first load" you relented.
"Good, you have the towels and your coffee for the first load" he chuckled and gave you a kiss on your temple. You turned your head and puckered your lips expectantly and he leaned in to give you a chaste kiss on the lips. "Now get that sexy ass in there" he pulled back and you flushed crimson.
"You're the only one that thinks so" you huffed slightly.
"I'm not, but as long as no one else puts their paws on you, we will be okay" Bucky chuckled. "I don't share" he added a little darkly.
"I don't share either, mission man" you cooed to him. You leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on his bearded cheek before reaching for your door handle and letting yourself out of the car. You juggled the bathroom linens, as well as your coffee and purse while making your way to the front door. Bucky grabbed all of the bags from Bath and Bodyworks and followed you there. You were struggling with finding your house key, when he pulled out his and unlocked the door. You both went into the cabin, and headed into the bathroom. You quickly found a spot for the towels etc, while he set down the bags on the bathroom countertop. He left in a flash, and you set about emptying the bags, being mindful of where to put everything, putting some of your favorite scents in the tub and shower first. You left out the bubble bath for later, and tried to focus on one bag at a time. You heard Bucky making his way in and out of the cabin, setting things down in the front entryway as well as in the living room. You pulled out your phone and turned on some music.
When the song "Put me in my place" by Muscadine Bloodline came on, you heard Bucky singing along with the words and you gave a soft giggle, thinking you likely played that song too much. Then again, he didn't seem to mind. You finished your task, but took your time cleaning up the bags, continuing to listen to him singing softly in the next room. You couldn't keep the smile off of your face if you tried.
"Hey doll" Bucky called from what sounded like the living room as the song ended.
"Yes honey?" you called back, picking up the last of the bags. You made your way out of the room, and put the garbage in the trash bag already set up in the kitchen.
"Is this okay here for the TV?" he asked, holding up the large screen TV against the wall with ease. You were almost speechless since he was making it seem so easy to hold something so large and heavy. It was just above the TV stand, and took up a large portion of the wall there.
"It looks good" you quickly approved.
"Can you grab a pencil and just mark it lightly on the wall at the top?" he asked and you went to one of the bags and pulled out one of the pencils you bought, and came back to leave a small mark at the top and stood back. He set the TV down and took out the measuring tape that he had bought and started checking where to put the wall bracket.
"Do you need anything else, baby?" you asked, feeling a little out of place.
"A kiss?" he asked with a mischievous smirk. You took a few steps towards him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. He hummed into the kiss and stood still while you pulled away. You gave a small giggle and headed to the front entryway to start going through the bags that were there. You took your time putting everything away, while Bucky took the time to drill the bracket into the wall, and even had time to hook the TV up. Next he went and took his gaming systems out and set those up as well, while you were going all over the house to put things away. He was nearly done when you were just finishing up. You threw all the garbage away, filling up a few extra bags in the process, and then went to the fridge. You pulled out the two full chicken dinners and grabbed the salads as a starter. You put the chicken dinners in the oven, looking over your shoulder to check on Bucky. He was still trying to figure out how to set up the gaming systems on the TV with garbage all around him. You decided to clean out the dishwasher while supper was warming up, and set the table. By the time he was done, supper was done cooking and you had set the table. He was quick to pick up all the garbage and put it away before coming into the kitchen. He poured you both a drink each and followed you to the table with a flirty grin on his face.
"What is it?" you asked, wondering what he was up to.
"I was just wondering if you would be willing to eat half naked for supper too" he said a little hopefully.
"Maybe another night. As soon as we are done eating, I'm going outside to enjoy my swing for a bit and read my book" you warned him.
"How about I run you a bath, and we watch the sunset from the bathroom and I'll read your book to you while I'm at it" he sat down beside you and you flushed knowing what that would mean.
"Okay, but the swing tomorrow" you bit your bottom lip, and smiled at him.
"Too bad we didn't get you a bottle of wine, that would be perfect to end your day" he hummed as he took his first bite of chicken while you were working on your salad.

As soon as you were done eating, Bucky happily went and filled the dishwasher and you went to grab the book you had brought for the weekend from the bedroom. You saw the two brand new tablets already charging on the bedside table, and checked to see how charged they were. You knew not to touch them until they were at a hundred percent. They were only half way, so you quickly left the room. Bucky was already headed into the bathroom with a bit of a skip in his step. He seemed excited, and you suppressed a giggle.
"Japanese Cherry Blossom?" he asked as he got into the bathroom. He started opening cupboards, getting accustomed to where you put everything. He pulled out the bubble bath with an impish smile and made his way to the tub and put in the plug. He turned on the water and tested it before adding the bubble bath. You both slowly got undressed, and you made a mental note that you needed laundry hampers for the house. You both kicked your clothes to the side, and Bucky pulled out a towel for each of you and two washcloths. You let him get into the tub first, and you waited for him to get comfortable, and you handed him your book to hold for a moment.
"Come on doll, don't keep me waiting" he teased you. You put a little more sway into your hips and slid in front of him in the tub and leaned back against him. You turned your head to the right and looked out the large picture window and gave a soft sigh. "That's more like it," he murmured.
"What if we just ran away together. No Shield, no Avengers, no Hydra..." you said, your voice barely a whisper.
"I'd follow you anywhere" he promised. "But could you actually go without working?" he asked in a gentle chuckle.
"Fair" you had to give him that. "I'm just tired of feeling like I have to look over my shoulder every time we go somewhere" you frowned slightly. He held your book with his left hand, and wrapped his right arm around you.
"Even if we ran away, you'd still have to look over your shoulder doll" he reminded you. "And besides you just finally got your dream house" he added.
"Another solid point for my amazing boyfriend" you snuggled back into him and he kissed the top of your head.
"So no running for now?" he asked with a slight chuckle.
"No, but the mini vacation is nice" you hummed.
"Good. Running doesn't solve anything" he kissed you again. "Now back to this book" he opened the cover and went to where you had the book mark. "Ah yes, the third date. My favorite part" he said with glee.
