Celebration

The three tests stared back at you on the counter, and they all had the same answer. Positive. You felt overwhelmed with emotions, like this was a moment you had been waiting for your whole life. A baby with your soulmate. Your hands automatically went to your stomach and you rubbed the lower area for a moment before tears started running down your face. You sniffled a little too loudly and the door handle jangled a little before you heard Bucky.
"Doll, I'm coming in," he said with an air of hesitation. He came in and saw you first and he looked worried for a second. You pointed at the counter and he walked over to look at them. His hand went to his face and he turned to look at you with tears in his eyes. "Is this real? Tell me this is real" he said, taking a long stride towards you.
"We made a baby" you said in a soft voice and he fell to his knees as a single tear fell down his cheek. He opened his arms and you walked to him. He wrapped his arms around your hips and kissed your stomach before just laying his forehead there. You ran your fingers through his hair as you both just basked in the moment.
"I can't wait to tell the world," Bucky said softly. "You hear that little one? I'm so excited to meet you" he said against your stomach.
"Bucky, I can't be that far along. We need to make a doctor's appointment first" you said softly. "Let's celebrate the engagement first with everyone," you added.
"Yeah" he said offhandedly and kissed your stomach again. "What did I ever do to deserve you, and this miracle?" he asked softly.
"I'm asking myself the same thing right now" you whispered to him.
"You must be an Angel" Bucky whispered back. You continued running your fingers through his hair and the two of you just stood there encompassed in the moment. You had a million things going through your mind, like what if Hydra made another kidnapping attempt. What if Bucky changed his mind? What if Tony fired you. You started breathing quickly and the lights started going erratic.
"Whatever is going on in that pretty head of your's, stop worrying" Bucky said, tightening his hold on you.
"What if I get fired?" you finally said. "What if Hydra comes back?"
"I'll kill them all before I let them touch you" he vowed. "And Tony is crazy about you, he would probably go so far as to try and be in the delivery room when you have our baby"
"We should probably get some books on what to expect" you sighed, trying to calm your anxiety.
"I'll text doctor Cho for a doctor's appointment for you tomorrow" Bucky promised. "We won't tell her until we see her what it's about," he added.
"I loved my bouquet for today" you cooed to him.
"It looks good at the table," he quickly agreed.
"Did you notice that Sarah was missing? She was supposed to be there" you pouted a little.
"I saw her working downstairs. She must be picking up extra hours again. She's a hard worker" he commented. "Just about as hard as you do," he added with a chuckle. "You'll have to start taking it easy now doll, and I read somewhere caffeine is bad for babies so no more coffee for a bit"
"But I love my morning coffee" you fully pouted and stopped running your fingers through his hair.
"Don't kill the messenger" he looked up at you. "How about decaf?"
"How would I explain that to Sam?" you asked and he paused for a moment thinking about it.
"You and I are giving up caffeine for now, simple as that" he decided.
"You are giving up coffee?" you asked with an arched eyebrow.
"You aren't alone in this. If you have to give up something, so do I" he smirked. "Now give me a kiss and promise me no coffee" he pursed his lips.
You bent forward and kissed him softly on the lips. "No more coffee" you promised.
"Can I tell Stevie?" he asked once you stood up straight again.
"No, we need to see doctor Cho first!" you said in surprise.
"Let's take a picture, and save it for later" he suggested.
"That will be uploaded to the cloud, and Tony has access to that" you shook your head.
"I'll take it in messenger between you and me, and then it's not uploaded to the cloud and no one will know except us" he thought about it for a moment.
"We could try that" you agreed and Bucky quickly got up and took the picture and sent it to you. You looked down at your phone and smiled happily. You went over and threw the three tests out in the trash, and Bucky frowned. He knew it was necessary but he wanted them around a little bit longer. "We have to get ready for dinner," you reminded him.
"It's in half an hour" he checked the time. "And after we are coming back up and celebrating" he wiggled his eyebrows at you.
"I thought we could invite the boys and Sarah over for some tea" you pouted.
"For you, doll, anything" he smiled. "But celebrate after" he grinned.
"If I'm not feel nauseous again," you nodded in agreement. He pulled you in for a promising kiss and you hummed against his lips.

"There's the happy couple!" Sam exclaimed as you and Bucky got down to the dining room. You saw Sarah sitting beside him and they were holding hands on top of the table. She had her nursing scrubs still on, but her hair was down and her makeup looked like it was recently freshened up.
"Sam, you gotta give your girl a piece of your closet" you giggled as Bucky led you around the table to sit down.
"He's been barking up that tree already," Sarah giggled as well. "How have you been doing?" she asked with a bit of concern.
"Never better," you smiled. "How are you? I missed you today at the farmers market"
"One of the other nurses called in sick and they asked me to cover her shift. I do have next Sunday off for sure so I'll be coming along for the famous crepes and waffles" she smiled.
"Good, I look forward to having another lady join us. Sometimes Loki comes as a lady, sometimes as a gentleman" you shrugged.
"I look forward to seeing that too" she winked at Loki who flushed but sat up straighter in his chair.
"EEEeee! Let me see it!" Wanda squealed and came running in with Nat on her heels.
"Here" you giggled and held out your left hand. Both of them wrapped their arms around you after carefully inspecting your new engagement ring. They then hugged Bucky as well. You saw Sarah trying to take a peek, so you showed her your ring hand as well.
"You have immaculate taste" Nat complimented Bucky.
"I know I do in women" Bucky looked at you lovingly.
"Charmer" you giggled.
"You charmed me with just a smile" he countered quickly. You giggled again, and leaned into him, putting your head on his shoulder. The rest of the team came in and each of them congratulated you both and asked to see the ring as well. You were more than happy to show it off, you were so proud of it. Bruce went so far as to give you a fatherly kiss on the forehead when he hugged you. Pepper and Tony seemed impressed at Bucky's choice of ring as you proudly showed it to them. Bruce took a moment to ask if you were feeling okay, and you promised that you were feeling alright. Loki had been watching you carefully, and you wondered if he already knew what was going on. Supper was takeout with bacon cheeseburgers and fries for everyone, and lots of extra in the center of the table. By the time everyone was done though, all the extra food was gone. You also got to have dessert of apple dumplings so you were over the moon with that. They had a nice caramel sauce that just set off the dumplings perfectly.
Once the meal was over you invited Steve, Loki, Sam, and Sarah up to your suite since everyone else had left the table at that point. When you got to your suite Bucky claimed the chair and pulled you down on his lap so he could nuzzle you easier. He was being overly affectionate, but you didn't mind in the least.

"Well, you aren't looking as pale as you were earlier, Cuddlebug" Sam seemed pleased as he sat on the loveseat with Sarah.
"Did you want me to take your temperature?" Sarah offered.
"No, I feel just fine, thank you. Loki made me some marvelous tea and I'm feeling much better" you gave a broad smile.
"You're not getting sick are you?" Steve asked worriedly.
"No, she's just fine" Loki assured him when you hesitated for a moment.
"I want to hear more about Sarah and Sam," you giggled.
"Well, he has a drawer at my place for weekends, and he offered me a part of his closet and a drawer so I don't have to travel as far during the week while I'm working" Sarah smiled, putting her hand on Sam's knee.
"Progress!" you squealed happily.
"It's going to be the best decision you ever made" Bucky grinned before nuzzling into the side of your neck lovingly again. You wrapped your arms around him and basked in his love and affection.
"So does that mean I'll get to see you more, because the three of us can do girls day. Maybe even invite Pepper, Wanda and Nat along" you smiled happily.
"I'd really like that" Sarah quickly agreed with her hair bouncing as she nodded.
"Well I can go if I'm a bodyguard" Loki nodded.
"Right, exactly. You're my bodyguard" you nodded.
"I remember him keeping a post in your room. Hard to move around him, but he was polite about it" Sarah smirked. "He kept us all on our toes," she added.
"And I would do it again in a heartbeat" Loki said without hesitation."I have no doubt about that" you giggled.
"How about a game of cards?" Steve asked, standing up and grabbing a deck off the shelf near the kitchenette. Everyone readily agreed and Steve came back, and set down the deck and started dealing the cards out. Bucky kept stealing glances at your hand, so you moved over to sit between Steve and Loki making Bucky visibly pout.
