Chapter 26

Photoshoots

Daddy was a kind man. While mommy is kind but rude to me when it comes to beauty pageants. She always taught me to be married at a young age. Dahil iyon daw ang uso sa panahon ngayon but I never want her to control my life again. I will strive for this future of mine and I will show her that I can.

“Okay na ang legs mo," anusyo ng caoch ko.

It is not about how I handled the dress or nailed the stage. I need to show them what my personality looks like.

This dream is not easy. You have to risk for you to be happy. I am willing to suffer for one stage and I want t to be perfect. As much as I imagine.

“Grace!”

KUmaway  ako doon habang dala
ko  ang flag ng pilipinas. It was a mini flag and some people are just huging me when I was just stepping out to the airport.

“Kaya mo iyan. ALam kong kaya mong mapanalo na ang korona.”

Tumango ako at ngumiti na sa kanila.

They believe in me. So why should I stop? I will believe in myself first before they will believe in me. Somehow that was what life taught me for a few years.

“Salamat po,”I said.

They stopped and look at my green all-over sleeveless outfits. I remained my hair straight one.

“You never got out of style. The Philippines are proud because you raising our flag!"

This pageant taught me how to be on hands to all. It is not a personality that I will bring. I have to bring all of the culture and dress we have in our country. I will show them what is the beauty of the Philippines they have never known since the first day.

And the next morning was the moment I was waiting for. I was just bringing such a good history and culture of the Philippines through my style. I will bring all of that we all know.

They will ask me and I will proudly say how wonderful and beautiful my country is. They will say they would love to see it with their bare eyes.

“Pose ladies.  Show how confident you are!” the photographer and the director tell us.

We are here not just we represent our country but we are here to make socialize and the country will be known.

I smiled there with my white T-shirt and pants for the other shoot. We keep on a rehearsal for another intermission number.

We keep on doing it at the right time and sometimes I never sleep just so I can be updated on the recent happening here in the world and in my country.

“Pahinga ka na, Grace. Kanina ka pa riyan,” suway ni Addison sa akin pero umiling ako.

“A hard-working queen we ever had,” she said and got back to sleep.

I keep again reading what is the recent news they have. Sometimes I was sleepless. I will go with that so I keep on updates to everything.

“Hey! The Philippines. Your outfit today will be the most beautiful ever seen in my entire life. “
