The sun rose, bringing a new morning, a new day. The special day for the whole of Andria was finally here, the day of the royal ball. Everyone was talking about it. The preparations were now finally done and the whole kingdom was looking glorious.
"You look beautiful Rose." Claire complimented her sister who was looking elegant in that dress. "I bet every prince will fall for you today." Lucy said while wrapping one arm around her shoulder. "Thank you for the compliments but I am very nervous." Rose said while fidgeting her fingers.
"Don't worry, take a deep breath and go with the flow." Lucy said to her. "But make sure to not make any rash decision while going with the flow, you have full freedom and rights to choose the best for you." Claire added. They all were talking when they heard a knock on the door. "The guests have started arriving." Ray said from outside. "Coming!" Lucy replied to him and they all went outside.
Stepping out of the room, Rose got a chill rush inside her body. She got very nervous and her whole body tensed up. She somehow managed to reach the hall along with Lucy and Claire. There, she sat down on her seat and Claire and Lucy sat beside her. The kings of Andria and Sophiesia came and sat on their thrones on the opposite side.
Both the Kings raised the toast and the royal ball began. One by one all the princes and chiefs of different states of all the Five Great Nations came to Rose and introduced themselves but no one managed to catch her eye. Feeling an urge to go outside for some fresh air, she excused herself and went to the balcony.
She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. After a while, she turned to go back but bumped into someone. "I'm sorry." That person in front of her immediately apologized. "I'm sorry too." Rose looked up at him and was mesmerized by the person standing in front of her. "So....Princess Rose, would you like to dance with me?" He bent a little and forwarded his hand.
She unconsciously kept her hand on his and he led her back into the hall where everyone else was. He kept his hands gently on her waist and she held on his shoulder with her one hand while the other was intertwined with his hand.
"I'm Prince Theo of Philaria." He introduced himself while softly smiling at her. She also smiled at him. "Don't be nervous, just let your body move along with the rhythm of the music." He said and they both began moving along with everyone else.
Lucy and Claire noticed them and cheered for them. Rose smiled at both of them and looked at Theo who was smiling as well.
As Claire and Lucy watched them dance, another handsome guy came to Claire and forwarded his hand. "Would you mind coming to the dance floor with me, princess?" He spoke up catching both Claire and Lucy's attention. Claire did not want to go but Lucy kept on pushing her from behind so she finally gave in.
"I wouldn't mind it." She said and held his hand. "I'm Prince Kevin from the strongest Kingdom, Sinsila." He introduced himself with a slight smile on his face. "I'm Claire." She said and he nodded. "I already know that, Princess." He said and they both went to the dance floor.
He kept his hand on her waist and she also held his shoulder. They both were dancing together but Claire was not feeling good. She was feeling some kind of uneasiness while dancing with him. He kept his intense glare directly at her but she was not even able to look him in the eye.
Among all those celebrations, the King of Sinsilla went to the King of Andria and took a seat beside him. "Our children look really good together." He said while looking at Kevin and Claire. "Yes, they do." Claire's father replied. "What are your thoughts about Claire's wedding?" He asked him. "I am thinking of preparing for her marriage as soon as possible after Rose." He replied.
"What about Kevin and her? He is powerful and confident, he can take care of Princess very well." Kevin's father said while sipping his wine. "I agree, but in the end, it will be Claire's decision." The King of Andria said and he agreed.
Kevin heard their conversation and smiled from inside. While dancing, Claire saw Jake signaling her so she excused herself and went to him. "What is it, Jake?" She asked him. "We saw a person sneaking into the main balcony." He said and Claire nodded. "Leave it to me." She said and was about to go when Ray came there. "I will also come with you." He said. "Don't worry Ray, I will be fine." She said.
"No, I will come!" He opposed her. "Fine, you can come but you have to stay at a distance." She said and he agreed. They both went to the main balcony and spotted a person standing there. He was back facing them so they were not able to see his face. He was about to turn but suddenly the candles that were lighting the place went out due to a strong wind blow.
Claire went to him and tapped on his shoulder. He turned around and the small crown on his head shined in the dim sunlight. "Do you need something?" He asked in his deep yet soothing voice. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" She asked him.
"I'm Sky, the younger prince of Philaria. I'm here to take some fresh air as these ball parties do not interest me that much." He replied and Claire was shocked as well as embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I mistook you as an intruder." She bowed to him. "That's disrespectful." He said. "I'm sorry, I seriously didn't know you." She bowed again. "You should be punished." He said in a strict tone. "What?!" She was shocked and looked at him with wide eyes.
Looking at her face, he was not able to control himself and burst out laughing. "Oh my, that was ridiculous." He laughed while holding his stomach. His laugh somehow managed to make Claire's heart skip a beat. "But you know what, you do owe me something for this misinterpretation of yours." He said while calming down. "What?" She asked him. "You owe me a dance, princess." He said which made her heart again skip a beat.
He then took his wine glass and went from there leaving her alone there but Ray came there almost immediately. "Who was he?" He asked her but she gave no reply. "Claire, who was he?" He snapped his fingers in front of her and she finally looked at him. "He was the Prince of Philaria, no need to worry." She said and they both went back inside.
When they came back they saw Rose going to the empty throne which belonged to her mother and taking the badge that was kept there. It was a royal tradition according to which the queen would give a badge to the princess. The princess will then take it to her prince and make him wear it. Claire watched her with shimmering eyes as she stepped down in the middle of the hall.
She took a glance at every direction and stepped in front of Theo. She gently took the badge and put it in the upper pocket of his coat. The lights focused on them and everyone cheered loudly. She smiled while looking down and Theo gently held her hand and made her look up at him.
They both looked into each other's eyes and a wave of happiness ran into everyone present there. Claire and Lucy ran to Rose and hugged her tightly. "You finally found your prince!" Lucy exclaimed earning a soft chuckle from her.
The King got up from his throne and raised his hand. "I hereby give the orders to start preparing for Prince Theo and Princess Rose's wedding."
