Chapter - 37

Sky, who just arrived back to Philaria got the worst news ever possible. "Unfortunately, this is the truth." The guard looked down in sadness. Sky went to Theo and held his shoulders. "Tell me Jasmine is alive! She is coming back! Father is alive as well! Tell me, brother!" Sky yelled at him, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "They aren't." The crown fell from Theo's hand as he felt his legs getting weak. Sky's eyes widen and tears trickled down his face.

Once again, all of them found themselves attending another funeral in just a span of a few days. Rose was crying non-stop and Lucy was trying to calm her. It was raining outside and all the men were standing there. Sky was sitting near Jasmine's grave stone and Theo was near his mother's grave stone. Ray was just standing there while looking down along with Jake and James. Julia was helping Lucy to cheer up Rose as it was really bad for her health.

"She is princess Jasmine, the elder sister of prince Theo and prince Sky."
"You are indeed very beautiful as they say."
"Oh my, thank you for that."
"Your laugh is very similar to prince Sky." 

Claire remembered her first conversation with princess Jasmine and smiled sadly.  

"What did I do wrong?"
"You did nothing wrong."

"Then why do father and mother treat me like an outcast?"
"Maybe because they love you but are not able to express it."

"Father have changed. Since mother left, he is not the same."
"You are thinking too much Sky, don't stress yourself. Even if they do not treat you like you deserve, me and Theo will always be there for you."
"Nobody has ever noticed my efforts, my success, my abilities. They have only pointed out the mistakes in each and every step I take."
"I have noticed it all."

"I do not hate brother for getting crowned as the future king, I am just sick of not being able to be at the same level as him."
"You do not have to be like him, you just have to be the best version of yourself."
"I will do my best."
"I'm proud of you."

"I hate you, I hate you for leaving me like this." Sky leaned his head backwards and looked at the rain with tired eyes. "Why did you leave me, Jasmine? First my mother left me, then you, who became a mother figure to me, left me too. Am I that bad?" He questioned himself. "No, you are not bad at all." He heard Claire and looked behind. She was standing there holding an umbrella over him. 

Sky did not say anything and looked down letting his tears fall. "I know it's hard, but you have to stay strong for her. She always wanted you to be the best version of yourself. You should respect her feelings and get up." Claire said to him but he still looked down. She kept that umbrella aside and knelt near him. She held his hand and made him look at her.

"Listen to me prince, if you do not get yourself together, time will run out and you will regret it even more." Claire said to him in a stern voice making him look at her. "What do you mean by that?" He asked her. "Do you actually believe that the ship sank on its own by some huge fish colliding with it?" She asked him and he denied. "Then find out who did this." She said to him and handed him his sword. "Find that person, avenge for your sister." She said to him and he looked down at the sword in his hand.

Kylie was sitting near a tree looking down when she felt someone sit beside her.  She looked to her side and saw James sitting next to her. "I'm James." He introduced himself. "I already know that, I'm Kylie." She said to him. "You are princess Lucy's personal guard, right?" He asked her and she nodded. "Do you need anything?" She asked him. "No, I just wanted to talk to you for a while. After all we both are going to live together in a kingdom now since Sophiesia and Callios are now one. 

"Why did you betray your kingdom?" She asked him. "I never betrayed 'my kingdom'." He said to her. "What do you mean?" She asked him and looked up. "I'm from Andria." He said to her. "What?!" Kylie was very shocked to her this. "Yes, I was taken to Sinsila when I was a child." He said to her. "But now I will live in Callios because I accepted Queen Melanie as my ruler." He said to her and she looked at him. 

"Why were you taken away?" She asked him. "According to some prophecy, Sinsila would have been destroyed when prince Kevin was 5 years old. To prevent that they had to take away two kids, younger than him from any other nation. At that time, Andria was just recovering from the huge war which even resulted in Queen's death. A drought also lead to a huge hunger crisis. The king of Sinsila considered this to be the best time to bring those two kinds from Andria." He explained it to her.

"Who was the other one?" She asked again. "Princess Julia." He replied making her even more shocked. "Is it true?" She could not believe what she was hearing. "Yes it is." He replied making her go silent for a while. They both were just looking at the clouds which were dark and rain has also stopped now. 

"What about you, Kylie? What's your story?" He asked her breaking the silence. "My story is nothing special." She said to him. "I still want to know it." He insisted. Kylie sighed and turned towards him. "I am an orphan. My parents died in the same war in which Queens of Andria and Sophiesia died. I have no sibling or any other relative, I am all by myself." She said to him while looking down.

"I was only 4 years old when I started practicing sword fighting. I had a wooden sword which my father made for me. He used to make most of the furniture which was kept in the castle. One day when I was roaming in near the river, I saw a girl dressed elegantly sitting on the other shore. She was princess Lucy. I remember, on that day I could not keep myself from looking at her. She was looking very beautiful." Kylie smiled while recalling that incident.

"But the next moment I saw her stand up and just as she stood, her leg slipped and she fell into that river. She was crying for help as she was about to drown. Without thinking twice, I jumped in to rescue her and thankfully we both came out unharmed. After that I saw lot of guards coming there. They came there and pushed me away from her but she held my hand and from the very next moment I was made her personal guard." She completed her story with a sad yet happy smile.

"This was not boring as you said." James said and got up. "I think we must go now, all the royals have already left." He said to her and offered her his hand. She held it and got up. They both then went from there. 

"Would you like to be my friend, Kylie?"
