It was midnight and Claire was standing in the balcony feeling emptiness. The thoughts about Sky were not leaving her mind. She wanted to just go there and free him from that dungeon but now she was forbidden to even go near the basement until his punishment was over. She was brought out from her thoughts when she heard a knock on her door. "Come in." She said and Jake stepped inside.
He bowed to her and gave her a letter. It was a letter from Rose. She read that and then handed it back to Jake. "Is it something serious?" He asked her. "No, she just wrote an apology for not being able to come here." She told him. "Are you not going to write her back?" He asked her. "I am not in the mood to do anything at the moment." She and Jake just bowed and went from there.
He understood that she is upset because of what was happening with Sky. He quickly went down in the basement and saw Sky sleeping there while being badly injured. He shut his eyes seeing an innocent person being beat up like that. He wanted to take him out from there but he cannot do anything against the king. He called the guards which were guarding his cell to him.
"Tomorrow, I myself will punish him." He told them and they nodded. They cannot deny the order of king's most trusted guard and went from there. Jake took a last glance at Sky and went from there without making any noise.
Claire went down in the garden to refresh her mind. She was walking around when she remembered how she and Sky were walking in this garden when the royal family of Philaria came for their pre-wedding ritual. She walked by that lavender tree but it was all dry and withered now.
"It's lavender. It helps with relieving stress and tiredness."
"Well....thank you?"
She remembered their conversation and smiled sadly. "Once I gave you that lavender to help you relieve your stress but now it is all withered and this is now giving me stress." She said and decided to head back. She turned back to leave but saw Kevin standing right behind her.
"Looks like you really care for that prince." He said but Claire just ignored him. "Don't ignore me princess, this might prove really bad for you." He said and she stopped on her tracks. "Even if it does, I do not care." She said and went from there.
Kevin just stood there looking at her going back and a slight smirk appeared on his lips. "This is going to be very interesting." He said and also went from there.
Just like that the next morning came. It was very peaceful in Philaria and Rose was doing some embroidery on a handkerchief to gift this to Theo for this autumn. She was very focused on her work. That hanky was looking very pretty. She smiled seeing that and put that needle back down. She folded it and kept it in a small decorated box.
She heard footsteps and knew that Theo is about to come inside so she hid that box behind her. She picked up the needle to keep it away but it accidently pricked her finger very deep and she hissed in pain. Theo's eyes widen and he came to her.
He grabbed her hand and saw blood flowing from it. He took her finger in his mouth and sucked that blood to stop it. "Don't worry, it's just a small cut." She said to him. "You should be careful! What if someday you badly injure yourself?" He said with concern clearly visible in his eyes.
"I was just making this for you." She said and handed him that box. He looked at it and opened it. He opened it and saw a beautiful embroidered hanky. He looked at it and then at her. He kept it aside and grabbed her shoulders. "I do not need these gifts when the most special one is standing right in front of me." He said to her.
"I can never let you get a single scratch on your body till I am alive." He said to her. "Why do you care for me so much?" She asked him. He leaned closer to her and kept one hand on her cheeks.
