*23 years later*
The whole kingdom of Philaria was shimmering with shine. It was after so many years that all the people were finally happy. It has been so long since that war ended and now everything is slowly starting to get back to normal. No one could ever forget the sacrifices that were made for all that peace that they are enjoying today.
It was a summer afternoon. The sun was shining brightly in the sky along with the shining eyes of the sole member of the Royal family, Prince Theron. His eyes were looking up into the sky with so much admiration, his royal attire depicted how much of a gentleman he was. But besides all of that, the thing that made him complete was the shining necklace around his neck. The necklace which was given by his late mother.
"Prince Theron!" He heard his guard call him and turned around. "It's time for your coronation ceremony to begin." He said and Theron nodded at him. Today was the day when he was to be crowned as the Emperor of all those five great nations with Philaria as the capital.
He was standing in the main hall looking at the thousands of people who were present there. The priest stepped forward towards him and kept that huge crown on his head which was followed by a flower shower and applauses from everywhere. Theron breathed heavily and looked towards the front.
"I know it is a huge responsibility to be the Emperor of such a huge territory. I am glad that you all see me as capable of doing that not only because of my royal blood but because of my abilities. Today I want to thank all of you with my whole heart but...there is a certain someone who made me who I am. I vow to make my Empire proud just like King Theo. I vow to protect my people like Queen Rose. I vow to treat all the people of my empire with love like Mother Julia...."
Julia who was standing a bit far away with proud tears in her eyes, felt a wave rush in her body when Theron called her mother. She kept one hand on her chest remembering the words Rose said to her.
"Please take care of my son, he is your responsibility now."
"It feels like I have finally completed that responsibility you gave me, Queen Rose." She smiled to herself while the tears flowed from her eyes. "But...isn't Queen Rose your mother?" One of the courtmen asked Theron. "She is. Queen Rose is my mother but...the one who raises you has far more authority than the one who gives you birth because it is not easy to accept someone who is not even yours." Theron replied to him and all of them went silent.
"On this special occasion of my coronation, I want to announce one more very special thing." He said making everyone eager to hear what he wanted to say. "I am getting married to Luna." He said making everyone shocked. A few people were happy for him but the majority were angry. "But Luna is just a commoner who owns a flower shop. You shouldn't marry a low-caste person! It will be better if we find a princess for you from some other nation!" Another court man said and the rest others agreed.
"Social class doesn't matter when you love someone. You are a royal by your doings, not by your blood." Theron said calmly. "But what about the kingdom?" They still objected. "If you are so much worried about the kingdom, then you must also know that I am also raised by a person who is not a royal. You all trust me so much. You all trust her so much. Then why are you doubting the person I love?" He said but no one had the answer to that.
"We will start preparing for your wedding right away." That same court man said and smiled at the new Emperor. Theron smiled back at him and they all began preparing for his wedding right away. He turned around to leave from there but stopped after seeing Julia. She had happy tears in her eyes and seeing her like this made him emotional too. He was about to come to her but she pointed in the opposite direction. Theron followed her finger and that emotional expression changed into a slight blush on his cheeks.
He saw Luna standing there with some of her friends. She had a wide smile on her face and was blushing as well. Theron stepped towards her and kept his hands on her shoulders. "Finally, we can be together forever." He said to her and excitement was visible in his eyes. "I am so happy for us." Luna said while trying to control her tears.
Julia smiled at them and went to her room. She opened the door of her room revealing the pictures of all her loved ones who passed away. She went near Rose's picture and stood in front of it. "Your son has grown up a lot, your highness. He is just like you and King Theo. Fierce at actions but gentle at emotions." She talked to that picture as if they could hear her. "I wish you were here on his special day. He is The Great Emperor now." She tried to control her tears.
"I still remember how he used to ask me about his parents but I couldn't tell him anything at that time because I was scared to hurt him. I was scared to tell him that his parents are no longer among us...but now when I look at him I only see a powerful ruler who will keep the names of his parents alive for centuries. Thank you, Queen Rose...for considering me capable enough to raise such a child." She bowed to that picture and smiled a little.
"He is going to get married soon...to the girl he loves the most. I hope you will look up to him from heaven and give all your blessings to him and his bride." A tear left Julia's eyes as she wondered how different all of it would have been if they all were still alive. "Only if everything went the other way...it would have been so perfect." She wiped her tears and once again looked at those pictures. "But I won't give up...not when I endured this for the past 23 years." Her eyes fell on Jake's picture in the other corner of the room.
"Sometimes I wish...we weren't royals...but some normal people with no powerful authority because...that is what...ruined us...the happy us..." She clutched her dress and looked away from his picture to stop her tears from falling. She felt a pair of hands on her shoulder and flinched slightly. She turned around and saw Luna.
"Don't be like that...mother." Julia's heart melted when she called her mother for the first time. "I know it is hard to go through this...but I can somewhat relate to the condition in which you are right now. Losing my mother at a very young age was really hard for me. I cried for days and nights only wishing to hear her voice once again..." Luna's eyes began glistening with tears.
"And finally my wish came true...when I met you. You remind me of my mother a lot. Whenever I look at you, I see my mother's reflection in your eyes." She said and Julia quickly hugged her. "I wanted to tell you this because no matter how sad and broken you are...someday, someone will come to you and light your world once again." Luna said while crying on her shoulder.
Julia gently caressed her hair and patted her back to calm her down. "I don't need to wait for anyone...anymore." Julia said to Luna making her pull back from the hug. "Have you found that 'someone'?" Luna asked her and Julia nodded at her. Julia saw Theron also entering the room and smiled at him.
She caressed his cheek with one hand and Luna's with the other. "I have my children with me...what else could I ask for..." A tear slipped her eyes and both Theron and Luna quickly hugged her.
"We love you....mother."
