Melanie got up and kept her sword on the king's neck. He tried to move but she held him tightly not letting him even twitch his fingers. "It's over." She said and the next moment his neck was on the ground and she was all covered in blood. She wiped her face and threw away her bloody sword. She fell down on her knees and crawled to the nearest pillar for some support.
James came rushing to her. "Your highness!" He knelt down in front of her. "Go to Prince Ray and tell him all about this." She said to him. "But I cannot leave you like this!" He said to her with a voice filled with worry. "It's an order, be quick!" She yelled at him with all her might and collapsed on the ground. "Go please." She said in an extremely weak voice and he immediately left from there.
That whole throne hall was covered in blood. The walls, the pillars, the paintings, the carpets, everything was covered with splatters of blood. The dead bodies of the guards, soldiers and the king himself laid on the ground just like fallen pieces of a broken glass.
James was on his way to Sophiesia. He was riding his horse as fast as he can. He just wanted to see prince Ray as soon as possible. To his favor, he saw prince Ray along with his troop marching towards Sinsila castle. He rushed his horse to that side and stood in front of them. They all abruptly came to a halt and looked at him.
He got off his horse and went to Ray. "Prince!" He called him but the other soldiers surrounded him thinking that he is an enemy. He looked at Ray who had eyes of confusion as well. "I am sent by Queen Melanie." Just as he said that Ray told all the soldiers to back away. He went to him and showed him that presidency papers. Ray's eyes widen on seeing this. "We have to hurry!" He told his troop and they all started marching towards Sinsila castle.
Here Melanie was laying on the ground counting her last breaths. "It was a pleasurable life." She said and her eyelids began to drop down. "I loved this journey although I still have some unfinished things but at the end it was all worth it." She said and her eyelids dropped down even more making it difficult for her to even keep her eyes open.
Just then she saw some faint shadows surrounded by a white light. "Mother?! Father?!" She looked around and saw herself laying in a totally blank place which just had white lights and the faint shadows of her parents standing in front of her. "We are proud of you, Melanie." Her mother said to her. "You proved that you are just as brave as your mother." Her father said to her. Tears began building up in her eyes on seeing her dead parents right in front of her.
"I left too early but I was always keeping an eye on you from up here, I watched you grow. You were just a little princess who loved the color red and now you are a powerful queen who is covered in her favorite color for her kingdom and her people." Her father said to her and smiled at her. "Father..." Tears began to flow from her eyes like a river.
"I wish that life will give you another chance to live once again just like a brave woman and make your parents, friends and other loved ones proud." Her mother said as they both started to fade away slowly. "Mother! Wait!" She yelled at them but they both just smiled at her. "We love you." They both said to her and faded away completely.
She was left there crying her heart out as she remembered every person she loved. "Princess Claire, thank you for showing me my own worth and making me fight for justice. Prince Lucy, thank you for being a great friend to me. Thank you mother and father for giving me this life. Lastly, thank you Prince Ray for showing me all those beautiful colors of love. In my next life, my only wish will be to be with you all once again." Those were the last words she said before closing her eyes forever.

Melanie opened her eyes and got up. Tears were streaming down her face as she looked around the messed up room. Everyone was laying unconscious around her. She went to Ray and shook him trying to wake him up. "Ray! Wake up!" She shook him gently but no effect. She went to the others and tried to wake them up but no one budged to even move.
"Don't try, they all will wake up on their own once their part in the story is over." She heard a voice behind her and saw Max standing right behind her. "What do you mean by 'their part in the story'?" She asked him. "The thing which you just saw now was your past life and because you died there in the past, you gained back your consciousness and woke up." He explained it to her. "Does that mean everything which I just saw was real?" She asked him. "Yes."

"Melanie!" Ray screamed on seeing her laying there. He went to her and tried to wake her up. Her whole body was covered in blood and wounds and it was cold. "Melanie! Stop all this act! Wake up!" He began crying on seeing no response from her side. "You know very well that my shy heart can't take all this pain. Please don't hurt me. Talk to me!" He hugged her body tightly and began crying knowing very well that this is not going to bring her back. He cried his heart out, he was blaming himself for leaving her alone like that.
"This is something very emotional." He heard a voice behind him and looked up to see Kevin standing there with his guards. "So bad, Callios lost the war." He mocked him and went forward. He saw his father's dead body and acted to be hurt. He went near him and crouched down. "Father!" He lead out a fake painful cry followed by an evil laughter. "Rest in peace." He laughed and took the fallen crown and put that on his head. He went to the throne and sat there.
"I want to thank Queen Melanie for what she did. Because this only made this whole kingdom mine." He laughed maniacally showing no signs of regret or sadness for his own father's death. "Plus now, Callios's territory also belongs to me." He looked towards Ray with a smirk. Ray got up from the ground and went to him. "You surely have a misunderstanding regarding that."
He slammed some documents right in front of Kevin's face. "Take a good read at these." He said to him with pure anger in his eyes. Kevin took up those documents and his eyes widened. "The alliance treaty?!" He screamed and threw those documents away. "This means that now Callios and your town which now belonged to queen Melanie is a part of Sophiesia now." Ray said to him and picked up those papers. "When did this happen?!" Kevin growled at him.
FLASHBACK
All the guests were arriving and the hall was being completely filled with guests. Claire was still in her room and the priest was preparing for the wedding rituals. Suddenly Ray felt someone drag him to a corner. He looked up and saw it was Melanie. "Did you miss me this much, princess?" He teased her. "Actually, I have to talk to you about something very important." She said to him and he nodded. "I fear that in future Callios might be attacked for its resources so I just wanted to ask you for a favor." She said to him and waited for his response. "What is it?" He asked her.
"Can you, as the prince of Sophiesia, sign the alliance treaty between my kingdom and your kingdom?" She asked him while being nervous and looking down. Ray kept a hand on her shoulder and made her look up. "I will." He said and she smiled widely at him.

"I never knew that she made me sign that treaty for this day but I am glad that she did." He said and went near her body. He felt Kevin rushing towards him with his sword but his guards blocked him. "One more move and you will be dead right here." Ray said to him and Kevin felt shivers running down his spine. He has never seen Ray in this form. Right now he was not the shy and cheerful Ray but a heartless Prince.
Ray held Melanie's body in his arms and walked out from there. He turned to James who immediately bowed at him.
"Prepare for Queen's funeral in her castle."
