Chapter 61

“I'm sorry... I shouldn't come here. I know you don't want to see me, but I was just worried."

“You don't have to, you see? Wala namang nangyaring masama.” She looks at me with sad eyes and sigh. I know I practically sound dismissive of her.

Girl, don't be so rude, will you? Nag-aalala lang naman yung tao sayo. Sermon ng utak ko.

Tama naman sya, I mean, I didn't mean to sound like that, but Argh! Idk!!! Iniisip ko pa kasi kung paano ko maaayos ito, yung sa'min. Kala ko kaya kong i-handle yung ganitong sitwasyon sa pagitan namin.

Aviona, get a grip on yourself.

“Uhm, I gotta go... Sorry again to disturb you.” She turns away at akmang aalis na sana.

“No, you're not.” I blurted out, grabbing her wrist. She immediately turned to face me and binigyan ako ng alanganin na ngiti. Agad ko rin na bitawan yung kamay nya nang biglang kumabog ang aking dibdib. We shared a knowing look for a brief moment before averting it elsewhere. Ngayon lang ulit naglapat ang mga balat namin dahil nung huli e yung nasa hospital pa sya. And I literally felt the electricity every time we touched, and by the look in her eyes, I knew for sure that she felt it too. 

After what feels like eternity na pananahimik namin ako na ang bumasag nito. “Kamusta yung sugat mo?” Hindi ko maiwasang itanong. She leans closer to me, and I gulp nervously. I thought she was going to kiss me, but she was just staring into my eyes, and I couldn't resist. I stared back at those beautiful brown eyes of hers.

“Magaling na po sya.” Naka ngiting sagot nito ramdam ko ang mainit nitong hininga na tumatama sa mukha ko. I saw her glancing down at my lips and back up at my eyes. I couldn't help but bite my lower lip and quickly look away as I was trying to control myself not to kiss her. 

Argh! Damn you, Kyler. 

Her name was so strange yet familiar to hear. Maybe it's because I just used it now again. For where else, and I get used to it. 🤷🏻 I missed calling her that, to be honest. 

“How I wish that you're the one who took care of me... pero hindi nga pala pwede.” She smiles bitterly. If you only knew how badly I want to take care of you, my love. 

“But thanks to Athena, she never left m-” She quickly cut herself off and covered her mouth with her hand like a kid who accidentally says a bad word in front of her or his parents. I instantly hide my hands and bawl them into fists. Kumukulo talaga ang dugo ko sa tuwing naririnig ko ang pangalan ng babaeng yun. She's trying to steal my Kyler from me. 

“That's good to hear.” I gave her a smile that I could master so that it wouldn't look like a forceful one.

“I'm sorry.” She mumbled quietly, but I ignored what she said and turned back.

“I'm sorry; I didn't mean to upset you.” She hugs me from behind, almost hesitantly.

I closed my eyes as I felt her warm hug. I don't want her to leave just yet, but I need to bring myself back to my senses. Agad kong minulat ang aking mga mata at marahang tinanggal yung kamay nya na naka pulupot sa bewang ko.

“May kailangan ka pa ba? Kung wala na magpapahinga na ako.” I can't help but be cold towards her. I feel so many emotions right now that I want her to leave. I want to be alone.

“Ah, yeah, sorry. Nag-alala lang po talaga ako pero mukhang ok ka naman. Mauuna na po ako sorry po talaga sa abala.” Marahang wika nya sa likuran ko. I can almost hear the sadness lacing her voice. I turn around and watch her leave my house. My brain started to scream and beg her to stay. I quickly shook my head at that thought.
