"Ready to go babe?" I ask Dylan while grabbing the last bag

She seems deep in thought before hearing my voice. She nods her head with a smile before walking out the door towards the car. I make sure to grab my phone before locking up and meeting her in the car.

Opening the driver side door, I see Dylan already set up with her blanket and laptop set up for the three hour journey to the beach.

"Comfortable?" I joke

"Very" she says giving me a smile

She goes back quiet as i back out of the driveway and start heading towards the highway for our destination. As time draws on, Dylan hasn't said much. She's quieter than usual.

"Something wrong?" I ask grabbing her hand

"Just enjoying the ride" she shrugs

I nod before kissing the back of her hand. The ride was going by pretty fast which I was thankful for. Traffic wasn't heavy and Dylan had turned on music instead of letting the quiet be filled with a random movie she had put on.

••••

"How much longer?" Dylan groans

We have been on the road for over two hours and we were minutes away from the beach house that was rented for the upcoming week.

"About thirty minutes babe. Shouldn't be too much longer" I assure her

She squeezes my hand before turning over to stare out the window. I knew it would be a matter of minutes before she ended up falling asleep again. She could never handle being in the car for hours at a time.

••••

"Okay babe. I've got the bags upstairs and now it's your turn" I say trying to wake Dylan up

"Why didn't you wake me? I would have helped" she yawns

"It's fine. Now come on and let's go change so we can go swimming" I say

She stretches before finally getting out of the car. She grabs my hand before dragging me along with her to the front door.

"Well hello sleeping beauty" David says to Dylan as we walk through the front door

She rolls her eyes playfully before continuing up the stairs.

"Which ones ours?" She asks stopping at the top of the stairs

"Second door on the right" I say as she continues pulling me through the doorway

As soon as she walks in, she drops my hand and flops down on the bed. She sighs, turning her gaze towards me. I then take a seat beside her and pull her into my embrace.

"What first? Food or beach? Maybe both?" I ask her

"Definitely both but I need to change first. I don't wanna get up though" she says cuddling up to my chest

"Get up in twenty minutes?" I suggest

She nods before getting more comfortable. I sigh as I lay my head against hers.

"I like your haircut by the way. Very handsome" she mumbles

"Glad you like it"

"What the hell guys? We are on vacation and we've been waiting for you downstairs for thirty minutes. Get your asses up!" Isabel yells coming into our room

I groan as Dylan starts moving away from me. I hadn't even realized we had fell asleep so quickly.

"No" I groan pulling Dylan back towards my body

"Be downstairs in ten minutes or I'm getting the ice buckets" Isabel smirks before going back downstairs

I groan again as Dylan leaves the bed. She heads over to the suitcases, pulling out a bathing suit and her cover up.

"Word of advice, she's not playing about the ice buckets"

••••

"Nice of you to join us sleepy head" Chris mocks

"You're girlfriend is evil" I shudder

"I told you she wasn't playing about the buckets" Dylan says kissing my cheek

"Still" I say rolling my eyes

Everyone laughs at my misfortune as I take a seat at the table. Dylan comes to sit on my lap as regular conversations start heating up again.

"I'm thinking beach for a few hours and then we go to the grocery store" Isabel says

"What are we having for dinner?" Sean ask

"Well, I was thinking Dylan could cook tonight?" She says giving Dylan puppy dog eyes

"Fine. What do you guys want" she groans out in a playful way

"Can you please make that same pasta you did in the mountains?" David begs

"Sure. I'll grab the stuff for it when we go grocery shopping later" she says

Everyone cheers at her statement, making her smile widely.

"Alright, let's hit the beach"
