Chapter 12

Two weeks later, Lockhart made a new dueling club now that we had certain attacks at our school, so we could protect ourselves. Ruby and I decided to join just because we had nothing else to do every Friday afternoon, and it will be fun dueling with other students. Because I am not a liar I have to say that it was my idea first to join and Ruby hated it because she said that it was her only free afternoon of the week, but she changed her mind when Oliver W said that he joined too. I entered the great hall who was filled with students from different years and saw a huge table in the middle who looked like a long platform. I looked around looking for Oliver B, but he was nowhere to be found. Weird! He told me that he will meet me here. I met my brother who was opposite of me, and he waved at me before he looked with a weird look at the two Gryffindors next to me and Ruby. He looked at them with a stare before Lockhart took everyone's attention 

Lockhart:Gather around, gather around! Can everybody see me? Can you all here me?

He yelled and the whole room fell quiet 

Lockhart:Excellent

He whispered to himself but loud enough for everyone in the room to here before he turned to us 

Lockhart:In the light of the dark events of recent weeks, Professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little dueling club to train you all up in case you ever need to defend yourselves as I myself have done on countless occasions for full details see my published works! Or the excellent essay that Miss Malfoy and Mr Weasley wrote about my biography, and it is now on the school announcement board 

He said, and everyone clapped before Lockhart stopped them. Lockhart said that mine and ginger's essay was the best one that he ever read and that he is going to include it at the begging of his new book. That was exciting having your name in a famous book, but I was just happy for the A+. Then Lockhart removed his cape and threw it to the crowd. Ruby immediately jumped to catch it and then keep it in her hug. Wood sided eye her, but then smiled when she saw hers on her face. Some other girls tried to take it from her, but the glare that she gave them made them stay back

Lockhart:Let me introduce my assistant Professor Snape

He said, and then Snape walked on the platform with a look that it showed that he didn't want to be here right now. Yeah, that is my face every Monday and Thursday when I have two hours potions

Lockhart:He has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration! Now I don't want any of you youngsters to worry you will still have your potions master when I am through with it

He said, proud of his own words, and then walked to Snape. Oh, that was going to be an excellent show to watch. I should have brought popcorn. They put their wands in front of their faces and then pointed them to the ground before they bow and step a few feet back.

Lockhart:One two three 

He said with a smirk on his face, but before he was able to even do a single movement Snape had already finished telling his spell

Snape:Expeliurmus 

He said, and Lockhart flew across the room and fell on the ground with a groan of pain leaving his mouth. Some students laughed while others looked worried at him

Ruby:Do you think he is alright?

She asked, looking at him with a worried expression

Oliver:Who cares?

He said with a smile on his face, and I laughed at his words. Then Lockhart stood up and walked towards to Snape with a silly smirk on his face 

Lockhart:Excellent idea to show them that professor Snape but if you don't mind me saying it was pretty obvious what you are about to do and if I wanted to stop you it would have been only too easy
