Chapter 38

One afternoon in the first days of October, our small friend group was walking outside the castle for the Care of Magical Creatures lesson. When all the students met up with Hagrid outside his hut, we walked inside the forest and stopped a few miles away from our meet-up place. Hagrid told us to wait before he made his way towards the woods. I looked curiously at my monster book when he told us the page of today's lesson, trying to find a way to open it without being bitten, but before I was able to say anything Flint did

Marcus: And how exactly do we do that?

He asked looking at Hagrid who gave him an are-you-serious-look

Hagrid: Just stroke the spine, of course

He said before he walked into some trees and disappeared. When I stroked the spine, I was surprised to see that this little monster book opened without physically hurting me 

Y/n: Well, look at that 

I said in a surprised tone before watching Oliver fall to the ground as the book attacked him. Ginger and I fell into laughter while Ruby was helping Oliver to get up and pulled him away from his book.

Y/n: Too bad I don't have a camera with me, this scene would have been an amazing Christmas card 

I said with a smile, before Percy next to me let out a small laugh. Ruby glared at us as she was helping Oliver stand up

Oliver: I hate that thing 

He said before picking up his book from the ground and Ruby smiled before he took his arm 

Ruby: Well, I think they are funny

She said, and I nodded before an annoying voice was heard from behind us 

Marcus: Yeah, terribly funny, really witty! My father was right when he said that this place has gone to the dogs, can't wait to prove him right after I tell him that Dumbledore got his oaf teaching classes

He asked and everyone turned to him with mean looks on their faces because everyone in this school loved Hagrid 

Y/n: Please do us all a favor and shut up

I said, and he gave me a smirk before he slowly walked up to me with an evil smile on his face, but before he was able to even come near me, Percy got in front of me and stopped him from taking another step

Percy: Get lost, Flint 

He said and Flint let out a small laugh, ignoring the glares he was getting from ginger 

Marcus: Being overprotective over your little girlfriend, aren't you?

He said with a smirk, but ginger didn't say a word and just stared at him annoyed. Then Flint's eyes widened looking at something behind him in horror and then pointed at the sky 

Marcus:Dementor, Dementor 

He yelled, and everyone turned to look horrified at the sky to see that there was nothing there and that Flint was just messing with us. I looked back at him only to see that he was doing some ridiculous things with his hands and ghost sounds while his friends followed his lead and did the same. I walked up to Percy, took his arm, and pulled him away from Flint before giving him a deathstare. All the jerk did was wink his eye at me, and I gave him an eye roll in return. I took Percy's arm in mine before walking towards Hagrid, who had returned and brought a beautiful huge bird with him

Hagrid: Tada! You are lucky because you are the first class that I showed him 

He said with a smile on his face, which I returned looking at the Hippogriff in front of me. The creature had the form of a horse but was bigger, with wings, and a tail and this is why some people compare them to birds. He has a beautiful grey color and I looked at it excited because this was the first time I ever saw one
