I was looking out of my window, admiring how the trees danced to the rhythm of the air and how the ginger leaves were falling one by one to the ground, which meant only one thing. That autumn was coming, my favourite out of all four seasons. I don't know why autumn was my favourite, but I just loved the colours that nature had on those days of the year. They were just giving me love and comfort in times when no one else did, and that is what made me fall in love with it. I heard my mother call my name to join the family for breakfast. It was the morning before I went to Hogwarts for my sixth year, and words couldn't explain how excited I was to walk through the corridors once again. I looked at my desk and saw the Slytherin prefect brooch. I sighed, taking it in my hands before I placed it inside my bag. I closed my suitcase and looked around my room one last time before I headed downstairs. I saw Dobby looking more tired than he usually was, and I smiled kindly at him, trying to comfort him before I set my suitcase on the floor next to the cage of my white owl called "Astra". Then I walked over to the dining room table and sat down next to my brother, who wished me a "good morning" with his sleepy voice. Let's just say that I always had a soft spot for him. He was my favourite member of the family since the moment he was born. When my parents used to argue, I would sneak into his room when he was little and read him books for hours to make him forget. They would usually fight because Mom wanted to get rid of things that remind her of the past or things that could cause us problems with the Ministry. My father, on the other hand, never wanted to throw them away, but after the last warning we had from the Minister of Magic, he went and sold them to someone in Diagon Alley

Lucius: You had to see the Weasleys in Diagon Alley, Narcissa. They looked horribly covered in dust. People like them disrespect the pureblood name

My father said, and my mom didn't answer him. She just looked at her plate and pretended that she was listening like she usually did when my father started insulting other people. I remembered the day we saw the Weasleys at Diagon Alley. If Miss Weasley hadn't stopped her husband, then my father would have returned home with a black eye. I don't like them, not at all, but my father absolutely hates them. There is one person from them that I absolutely hate. Percy Weasley, the pretend I-know-it-all boy who thinks that by wearing a brooch he can rule the school. He and I have competed for first place since the first year and never got along. You had to see his face when he took my first place last year. He was bragging about it for almost a week, and I swear that if Ruby hadn't held me back then, he would have returned home with a broken nose.

There was silence at our table, and Mom broke it by saying that it was time for us to leave with a sad smile on her face. She was always sad when my brother and I were leaving for Hogwarts because she couldn't handle the fact that we were away from the house. But she always put a smile on her face to hide the fact that she was sad about the fact that we were growing up. My father stood up and put his hand on my shoulder, looking proudly at me

Lucius: My perfect daughter! It is time to show them what a true pureblood witch can do. You too Draco

He said, and my brother smiled, agreeing with him. I was happy that I made my father proud with my achievements, but failure was what scared me the most. Because if I fail, I will fail him too, and I didn't want that. I wanted him to be proud of me; I truly did, more than anything. I smiled with a nod before I followed my mom outside so we could be able to apparate to King's Cross station. When we arrived at the station, I hugged my mom goodbye, and she had tears of joy and sadness in her eyes, which she failed to hide

Narcissa: Make us proud! Both of you

She said, hugging my brother and me at the same time before we entered the Hogwarts Express, which was almost ready to start its journey to the school. I said goodbye to Draco because he went to find his friends, and I continued looking around for mine. I walked through the hallway looking for Ruby's characteristic raven hair, but instead, I saw a ginger one walking my way, which made my smile fade. I saw Percy Weasley walking towards me already wearing his uniform while the prefect brooch was carefully cleaned and placed on his robe.

Y/n: Be careful, Weasleybee! That much fake pride can lead you nowhere

I said with a sarcastic smile on my face, and he stopped in his tracks before he turned around to look at me with a disgusted look on his face

Percy: Oh, you are still here! If you want to know, I was a prefect long before your daddy paid for you to be one

He said, and I felt my face turn red. Not from embarrassment but from anger. I had won the prefect's place on my own and everyone knew it. He just believed otherwise, and to be honest, I didn't care about his opinion

Y/n: You are lucky it is the first day, or I would have hexed you long before you would be able to set a foot into Hogwarts

I said, leaving him standing there, and I started walking through the busy hallway to finally find my best friend sitting in an empty compartment with a book in her hands. When she saw me, she immediately stood up and hugged me tight because we hadn't seen each other in a really long time

Ruby: I missed you so much

She said, and I smiled, agreeing with her. Ruby and I have been best friends since the moment we met each other during first year, and I always felt lucky that I had found a friend like her on the first day

Y/n: Me too!

I said, smiling before I took a seat next to her on one of the sofas that were in the compartment

Ruby: How was France?

She asked, and I sighed, looking at the floor. During the summer, my father decided to send me to a school in France to experience how college life would be there. My father has always wanted me to be a part of the ministry when I finish school, and this is why he wanted me to get a perfect education at one of the top schools in France when my years at Hogwarts come to an end. This is also one of the reasons that he made me learn French when I was five. It was a great dream with a future, but the problem was that it wasn't mine

Y/n: It was okay! I mean, I didn't really wander around the city; I was mostly at the school

I said, and she looked at me with the are-you-serious look!

Ruby: You were in Paris, the city of love, and you didn't even go for a walk!

She asked, shocked, and I nodded. I think that I walked around the city about two or three times! I am not exactly sure about the number, but it was definitely not more than five times. I stayed mostly at the school, experiencing some of the classes there. I didn't really mind it, and I found it rather interesting. I opened my bag and took out a small present wrapped in green wrapping

Y/n: But I had time to bring you something

I said, and she immediately took it in her hands with an amused look on her face and shook it, trying to listen to what was inside

Ruby: Please promise me that there is a tall French guy in here

She said, and I laughed at a comment that only Ruby Baker could make

Y/n: Definitely not

I said with a smile, and she opened it as quickly as she could because of how excited she was. There was a small keychain with the Eiffel Tower. She looked at it, confused for a second until she realized what it was

Ruby: A keychain, I love it

She said, and I smiled before I took it in my hands

Y/n: Not just a keychain!

I turned it upside down, and there was a small button on it. I pressed it, and it flew away, only leaving the circle in my hands. She looked at it, confused and shocked at the same time, before I put it in her ear

Ruby: Wait, I can listen to Daphne Greengrass arguing with Clearwater about the seats

She said, and I smiled. When she realized that this wasn't only a keychain, but it was also a magic microphone that would help you listen to others, she hugged me again

Ruby: Girl, that is amazing. We totally have to try it on Oliver

She said, and I laughed at her. Ruby has had a massive crush on Oliver Wood since first year, but never actually talked to him because she was too shy about it. It is so much fun to see her reaction every time he walks into a room, and she always would hit me on the arm if I dared to laugh about it. I mean, this is young love after all! It makes you wanna smile and scream at the same time. But unlike Ruby, I hadn't found my prince charming yet, and I was okay with it
