Chapter 32

I walked down the stairs to find the place filled with people, and I didn't even know half of them. Ruby went to join her parents, and then a small creature came running to my feet. I looked down to find a small puppy licking my shoes. I picked it up in my arms with a confused look on my face, and then it started leaving small kisses on my face, which made me laugh in surprise

Narcissa: I noticed how upset you were the past few days without your friends and I knew that this cutie right here would know exactly how to cheer you up 

She said with a smile and I looked at her surprised. Did they really get me a dog for my birthday?

Y/n: This is mine, really?

I asked and she nodded with a smile

Narcissa: Yeah, it took me days to convince your father to buy him for you. You see, he doesn't like muggle pets wandering around his house, but I had a dog growing up, and they are the best friends that will never leave your side. He is a boy and an American cocker spaniel, you can choose the name

She said, winking at me before joining the guests. I let out a small laugh before looking at the puppy because I knew exactly what his name was going to be

Y/n: Welcome to the family Atlas

I said with a smile, petting Atlas's head with a smile before I walked to the living room. He made himself comfortable in my arms before I walked to the big hall which was filled with people waving at me and giving me their wishes and to avoid them I just smiled and nodded. I watched Cornelius Fudge walking my way with Barty Crouch and I gave them a polite smile 

Cornelius: Miss Malfoy, how lovely to see you! 

He said, shaking my hand and wishing me a "Happy Birthday".  Then my father joined the group and started talking about Ministry work, so I politely excused myself and went to find a familiar face.

I watched Ruby coming towards me, and she started petting Atlas's head with a smile on her face until an annoying voice interrupted us. We both turned to look at the voice and saw, Flint looking at us with a smirk on his face 

Marcus: Happy Birthday, pretty wifey! Mind if I give you a birthday kiss?

He said with a smile and I rolled my eyes annoyed

Y/n: I am not your wife, Flint! Get the fucking picture already

I said, but he ignored me and went to pet Atlas, who bit his hand before he was able to even come near him. Flint yelled in pain and Ruby next to me covered her mouth with her hand, so she wouldn't burst out laughing 

Marcus: STUPID MUGGLE CREATURE 

He said, touching his hand in pain. Everyone in the room had fallen quiet and was now looking at us. I smiled at Atlas and pet his head with a proud look on my face, while Flint was touching his bleeding hand and looking at it in horror. It wasn't a huge wound just a small scratch and he of course made a big deal out of it

Y/n: Good boy 

I whispered to him before walking towards my aunt and uncle, who were looking at me with a smile. 

After dinner, everyone was gathering at the main hall of the house ready for a dance, and I was sitting at a corner talking with my best friend and Atlas sleeping in my lap. I had no intention to dance with anyone in the room because the heels I was wearing, were hurting my feet like crazy. I watched as my dad walked towards us with Flint by his side, who had an evil smirk on his face. My dad started talking with Ruby and the look Flint had on his face, made it clear that whatever was in his mind, was no good
