It was the last period of school before the weekend.
I stare at my phone, watching the time move slowly, as my teacher reads the chapter of our book.
I can't wait to go home.
It's my birthday, and nobody remembered, not even my closest friend in school.
The bell rings, and I grab my books and bag, being the first one to leave the class.
My friend catches up and hides me.
"You good?" She asks
"Perfect." I nod, walking to my locker.
I'm studying later; you could join?"
I shake my head. Plans, maybe next time, sorry."
She nods, "Of course. I'll still be at the library if you change your mind.
"Thanks. Have a good weekend." I say giving her a hug.
Even though she forgot my birthday, she's still my best friend.
As more students come out of the classrooms, I take my stuff and leave the school before it gets too crowded.
As I'm walking past the field, someone yells,
"heads!"
But of course, it hits my head.
Luckily, it only hit my head, and it didn't hurt that bad. The last time that happened it didn't end well.
Someone runs over to me and says,
"Hey, sorry."
I looked up, seeing my old friend.
Me and Yuta used to be friends, really close friends.
He was my only friend. But ever since he got his girlfriend. She was always jealous of our friendship, I'm guessing she told him, and I guess that's why he's been distant from me, and unfortunately, we don't talk anymore.
I regretted not making a move because I've always liked him, but I guess that he didn't get the memo.
"Are you alright?" he asks, pulling me up.
"Im good." I fix my hair and skirt before turning my back to him and walking away, feeling embarrassed.
"Wait!" he yells.
I roll my eyes, turning back around.
"What?"
"I'm guessing no one remembered," he says, walking up to me.
"What are you taking about? I asked
"Happy birthday, Y/N."
He says smiling as he runs back to the field.
He remembered.
