Max's POV:
El and I were both in our college dorm, just chilling after our lectures for the day.

"There's gotta be something you're afraid of." She said, scrolling on her phone while lying on her bed.
I thought for a moment, "You know, there is one thing."
She looked at me, "Which is?"
"Teddies."

She laughed, "There's no way that's true."
I threw my coke can in the bin as I nodded, "It is. I have an irrational fear of stuffed animals."

El slowly sat up, her eyes following me as I jumped onto the sofa. "You're the first person I've met with this... condition." She giggled.
I rolled my eyes playfully, "Okay, but you get where I'm coming from, right?"
"No, please elucidate me."
"You learnt that word today Ellie." I commented.

"Fine. Please, explain it to me."
"Remember when we watched Toy Story like... a week or so ago?"
"Yeah?" She raised her eyebrows, "Please don't tell me that's where your fear comes from."
"...maybe. But- just hear me out. What if some teddy bear wakes up at night and just smothers me in my sleep."

"I think you should get exposure therapy. I'll bring my stuffed lion." She suggested, lifting it up.
"Absolutely not. I'd never forgive you. I can't even watch Toy Story anymore." I replied.
"But it's such a cute lion! And so so huggable." El said, trying to convince me.
"Aren't you more huggable?"

She smiled, "Why? You wanna test it out?"
"Yeah. For research." I said, walking over to her and lying beside her on her bed, aka the bottom bunk.

"You're the least smooth person ever." She said, lifting me onto her chest. "You're lucky I love you." She joked, laughing.
I slapped her arm, "There's no way you're talking right now."

"Okay okay, fine. I know what you're thinking, don't bring it up." She said, calming down.
"Your first words to me were, 'You come here often?', in a classroom Ellie." I reminded her, and now it was my turn to laugh.

"...stop reminding me." She muttered, one arm around my waist as the other hid the lion teddy behind a pillow.
"My fear of stuffed animals is nowhere near as bad as your fear of flirting."

"I'd like to think I have a way with words." She smiled, her spare hand now going up to my hair.
"I hate that it worked on me. You just got lucky." I said, going up to lie my head on her shoulder.
"I think you're lucky to even be talking to me."
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" I asked, nuzzling into her neck.

"I'm gonna help you get over your fears." She answered, I looked behind me and saw her bring the remote to us using her powers.
"Don't you dare start watching Toy Story." I said, trying to snatch it out the air.
She quickly caught it and I sat up, trying to get it out of her hand.

"Give me the remote Eleven."
"No!" She said, rolling onto her stomach and hiding the remote under her.
I got on top of her and tried to reach under her, and she just laughed, lifting her head up to press the buttons.

"El!" I shouted, finally grabbing it and attempting to get off the bed.
She grabbed my by my waist and pulled me back, using her hand to block my head from hitting the top bunk. She used her powers to lift the remote out of my hand and into hers.

I groaned, giving up and lying down. "Now that's just cheating."
"It's not if I'm just using a part of me." She said cheekily, giving me an innocent smile.
I rolled my eyes jokingly and pulled her by the arm beside me. "Let me lie on you." I whined as she tried to sit up. "I wanna sleep."
"Awwh, I thought we were gonna watch a movie." El replied as I laid between her legs, my back to her front.
"Depends which one." I said, playing with her free hand.
"...Karate Kid?" She suggested, a knowing smile on her face.

I grinned, "You know me so well."
