Chapter 44

Katsuki POV

"Wow you actually said that?" Shiori said curling her lip at Katsuki.

I rolled my eyes, examining the list I was given.

Errand List:

Grocery Shopping

 Find a nice outfit at the mall 

Help Granny Chima move her stuff around.

It looked like a list of things she'd been putting off. Today was the day I learned what the hell Spitfire was talking about. My body was transformed by Shiori's quirk to look like Y/N who was avoiding my gaze. She looked nervous. I wanted to reach out and comfort her but this whole day was dedicated to me not understanding where her insecurities came from. Not sure what any of these tasks would show me but I wasn't going to question it. Plus it would be weird to be comforted by your boyfriend who temporarily looked like you.

I left them and went on to take care of the first task on the list. The first thing I noticed was how much more tiring it was to walk. Made sense. More weight is more weight regardless of how it's attached. I got to the grocery store a little sweaty. I walked in and grabbed a basket. At first, things went smoothly. People kept getting too damn close though. Finally some asshole bumped into me hard, looked at me then cursed under his breath.

"What did you say asshole?" I asked him.

He stopped for a second but walked off with a scoff. That's new. It pissed me off but the last thing I wanted was to waste more time in this crowded ass store. When I got to the snacks she wanted I heard more whispers. I looked back catching someone's eye as they looked away. I rolled my eyes then grabbed the snacks. When I got to the cashier the interaction was normal but something was off. Something I couldn't really place.

I took the train back to her house and when I sat down the man next to me sighed heavily, muttering under his breath. It irritated me but I ignored it. I was more focused on the fact that the seat was so fucking small. I shifted to try to get comfortable but it was damn near impossible and I couldn't sit back without touching the asshole next to me who whenever I touched him on accident loudly expressed his displeasure. I leaned back shoulder to shoulder with him to spite him but it was uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get off.

when I finally arrived at her apartment, I put her groceries away, feeling relieved for a moment. From what I couldn't put my finger on. Other than being more exhausted than normal it went without a hitch.

So why do I feel so on edge at the thought of going outside?

Up next: Find a cute outfit. I put my feelings aside and smirked. This was a chance to find something I'd wanna see her in. She also gave me full permission to try on clothes.

This time, I skipped the whole train ordeal and called a taxi. The driver looked at me with a frown and then asked where I wanted to go. I didn't feel like addressing that look since I wasn't sure whether he was frowning before he met me or not and answered his question. When I stepped out of the taxi, I realized what I dreaded about going out.

I walked into the mall, looking at my surroundings since it was the first time in a long time I could look around without getting mobbed. They made a lot of changes. I accidentally caught the eyes of a couple. The woman gave me a brief up down before looking away with a slight smile. Her boyfriend looked away like his life depended on it, his eyes clearly displaying disgust. He leaned into his girlfriend whispering something and she laughed, glancing at me again.

My first instinct was to confront them but I realized...I'd have to confront almost everyone in here if I wanted to defend myself from that. Plus what could I say? You looked at me weird? I'd just make my girlfriend look crazy and I don't know if she'd see any of these people again.
