Park Jimin had been alone for the last half of this century. It was better that way. It wasn't exactly his choice that he'd been turned into a vampire and he could hardly stand what he was most days. He absolutely did not want to hurt other people.
When it came time to feed, he would simply steal blood from local blood banks. It wasn't hard to do when he had not only good looks, but vampire powers of persuasion on his side. They practically begged him to take more blood by the time he was finished. His natural charm when he was still human would've been enough, but that had been enhanced tenfold the moment he became the living dead.
It was on one of his monthly trips to the blood bank that he'd first met another group of rowdy vampires. He'd heard of vampires who formed covens and spent decades and sometimes centuries roaming from country to country together, but he'd never met one.
The leader of this group had introduced himself as Jung Hoseok and he appeared to Jimin to be a very carefree, cheerful sort of person, which vampires usually were not. It was so unusual to Jimin, in fact, that he found himself following the group of unruly, raucous vampires across half of the South American continent before losing them somewhere in North America.
As luck would have it, he found them once again at a local blood bank in Paris, France. Jimin had always wanted to go to France, but in all his years, he hadn't thought to do it until he'd watched that trio of friends actually enjoying their afterlives.
"Oh. It's you again," Jung Hoseok had said upon seeing Jimin at the blood bank. "Would you like to join us for a night cap?" he joked, jiggling one of the bags of thick, red liquid.
Jimin offered a tentative half-smile and nodded. He followed the older vampire back to the other two he'd seen from afar before, worried that he would not be accepted. However, those worries were alleviated the second he arrived at the lavish hotel room.
He'd never considered staying in a hotel room as if he were a real human person still. He'd always hidden and stayed in, ironically enough, churches, or shelters to avoid notice. Sometimes he'd even sleep in the streets. He'd bathe himself in streams or the shelters' showers and never thought for a moment that he might not have to torture himself with the choice someone else made to make him a vampire.
The first of the two he met was a Kim Taehyung. A tall and beautiful vampire with a deep voice and a vaguely English accent layered over his once-native Korean. Apparently he'd spent most of his time in London and Paris after becoming a vampire. Jimin and Taehyung instantly became fast friends and Jimin's heart, though no longer beating, soared knowing he'd made his first friend since leaving his sire.
The second of the two he met hours later. Apparently he was younger and a bit wilder than the rest of the trio. He'd only been turned 80 years prior and was in the peak of his 20's when he was turned, where as Jimin and Taehyung had been 27 years old, and Hoseok was 29 years old when he became a vampire.
"Out drinking and dancing and trying to find handsome men again?" Taehyung teased as he poked the younger vampire's side.
Jimin heard them playfully fighting from where he sat in the lounge area of their suite, but was too nervous to get up and introduce himself after what he'd heard from the other two. According to Hoseok, Jungkook, their youngest member of the trio, was a lot to handle.
"Don't worry, Jimin. He's going to love you. In fact, he's probably going to be a bit of a pig to you. He loves pretty boys like you. You may want to be ready to punch him if he gets too flirty. He's a lot, but he's still very respectful," Hoseok assured Jimin with a chuckle.
Jungkook made his way to the lounge, Taehyung pushing him along the way. Jimin stood and made eye contact with the young vampire. The second their eyes locked though, something very strange happened.
It was like the whole world stood still and faded to black. Nothing else could be heard or seen except each other. Jimin held out a shaky hand as his face lit up with unfiltered shock. Jungkook hesitantly took it, face mirroring Jimin's surprise.
As soon as their fingers touched, it was like an electrical pulse shivered through each of them and if they'd have had air in their lungs, it would've taken their breath away.
The moment was shattered by an anxious Taehyung asking, "What is happening here? Why are they just staring like that?"
Hoseok startled and gripped at his chest. "Oh my god. I didn't think they really existed! I thought it was just some myth that lonely vampires made up to feel better or to have something to do. I didn't think it was real!"
"What? What isn't real?" Taehyung frantically shrieked, not understanding why his old friend and his new friend were seemingly in some sort of trance.
"True mates. Two souls intertwined and destined to find each other. I think the humans call it twin flames or something like that. I can't believe this," Hoseok answered in awe.
"Mate," Jungkook whispered as he and Jimin came back to reality; Jimin's cheeks flushing a bright pink. "My mate."
