Despite how softly he was crying, Jungkook knew his hiccuped sobs could be heard throughout the dorm. He also knew that his bandmates knew to leave him alone when he got this way.
He missed his Appa and his Eomma. He even missed his stupid older brother, Junghyun. Maybe it was times like these that he didn't feel like he was all that stupid after all. Junghyun was the same age as Taehyung and Jimin. They were also all the closest in ages, Taehyung being the closest to him by a couple months. He'd easily become friends with both, Taehyung even reminding him a bit of his actual brother back home. But Jimin...
Jimin was bold.
Jimin was open and honest in ways that frightened him.
Jimin made him feel things in ways that he shouldn't.
But...
Jimin was also his safe space.
Jimin was his best friend.
Jimin was his favorite hyung.
Why he was his favorite was something he kept locked in his heart and often found himself pushing Jimin away because of. At night though...when it was just the members back at their dorm, he found himself less inclined to push him away. After all, Jimin felt like home to him now that he'd been away from his the last two years.
Jungkook had become a trainee at just thirteen and at fifteen, he was nearing his debut, despite how turbulent the path to get there had been. But with something so big and scary looming ahead in his very near future, he naturally thought of his family back home in Busan.
Face still streaked with tears, he found his feet dragging themselves towards the only other person in his current world that could understand a homesickness for Busan. Jimin frequently slept in the living room, blankets and pillows laid out like a makeshift bed in the center of the floor. Jungkook usually joined him in the pretense of not liking to sleep next to Namjoon who snored.
As he fell to his knees next to the sleeping boy, Jungkook drank in every inch of his face and bare upper body peeking out from under his blanket. His pouted, thick lips and adorably chubby cheeks were smooshed from the pillow he clung to and dark, stray hairs danced across his sharp features as he softly breathed in and out.
He let himself watch him a moment longer than he knew he ought to as he brushed the hair back from his forehead before finally, gently shaking his shoulders. "Jiminie. Jiminie-hyung. Wake up. I need you."
Jimin's eyes went from barely capable of peeling open to wide as he heard Jungkook say he needed him. "What? What's wrong? Are you okay, Jungkookie?"
He took in Jungkook's wet cheeks, red eyes, and desperate expression. "Come here. Come on. Get in."
Jimin lifted the covers and patted the spot next to him. Jungkook happily obliged and curled up in his hyungs arms. At first, he faced away from Jimin, not able to bear looking into his eyes while being held so intimately. As his heartbeat calmed, though and he could feel Jimin's breath on the back of his neck start to even out, he rolled over to rest his cheek on Jimin's chest. Each thump of Jimin's heart in his ear eased the ache in his own. He felt as if he'd just arrived home and was being embraced by everyone he loved.
He shouldn't. He shouldn't let himself feel this way or indulge in these nightly cuddle sessions, he knew that. But he just couldn't help himself. Jimin just made him feel so safe.
"Were you homesick again?" A bleary voice rasped out.
Jungkook's heart nearly stopped for a moment, but he quickly recovered, nodding into Jimin's chest.
"That's okay. Busan brothers for life, right? I understand what its like. I miss my family too. My appa is so kind and tells me every day how proud he is of me. He thinks very highly of you too. When we're able to see Busan again, you should meet him. I know he's going to love you in real life too," Jimin assured Jungkook in that raspy, sleepy voice as he rubbed circles into his back.
Brothers...right. We're just brothers, Jungkook thought. "Yeah, I would like that. Thank you, hyung."
"Mhhmm," Jimin hummed out as the circles he drew slowed and eventually stopped just as his breathing became deeper and slower. Jungkook smiled knowing he'd fallen back asleep and he'd get to see that adorable sleep pout once more. Jungkook thought he looked like an angel when he was asleep.
Jungkook, glancing up carefully so as not to wake him, smiled at his hyung whose mouth had fallen open and whose lashes fanned across his high cheekbones. He was beautiful on the outside, of that there was no doubt, but Jungkook didn't wind up wrapped in his hyung's arms every night over just his beauty. No, Jimin had something far more beautiful than his exterior. He had a heart of gold caged in his chest and the most protective nature when it came to the ones he loved. He cared entirely too much and loved without restraint. He was familiar in all the ways that were just right for Jungkook with his satoori accent and similar experiences in their hometown of Busan. He was honest to an absolute fault and let himself be the most authentic version of himself that he could be.
In short, he was just like Jungkook. A near perfect copy in all the ways he wanted, and was still somehow better and stronger and braver than Jungkook felt he was. Jimin was his idol. Not just in the sense of him being an actual idol, but also his personal idol. He remembered a time when Namjoon had held that title, but he could hardly pinpoint when Jimin had stolen it away after Jungkook had met him. It had come on so gradually that he hardly noticed himself not only loving Jimin, but falling in love with him too.
If Namjoon had been his first crush, Jungkook knew that Jimin was his first love. It wasn't supposed to be this way. He wasn't supposed to like boys like this. He knew that, but he couldn't exactly help it either. So he instead pushed Jimin away in the day time and fell into his arms at night.
"I love you, hyung. I'm sorry."

A/N: Didn't have time to edit this one, but I think this one was super cute. It was a two for one. One person had requested I write more realistic stories and one requested I specifically write one about Jungkook being homesick and Jimin cuddling him and comforting him.
I hope this was fluffy enough for you, anonymous! :) I enjoyed writing this one for you.
Let me know if you have an idea you want me to write for you! See you next time, Lovely Armies!
