Jungkook watched the videos Jimin sent him of filming the music video in New York. He waited not-so-patiently as Jimin spent time away from him. He grit his teeth through seeing Jimin attending Yoongi's concert in New Jersey. He felt the excitement bubbling up in him as Jimin sent that text that he was finally flying home to Korea.
Not to say that Jungkook wasn't proud of Jimin; he was. It was just...he missed him. They'd kept themselves very private lately and had spent any time apart being very shameless about missing the other on weverse. Especially Jungkook. It was nice to feel for once like he was just a normal guy with a normal husband and a normal life with their normal friends. Of course, normal guys didn't also have to watch their husband fly across the world to film a music video on another continent without him. Normal guys didn't get stalked by fans. Normal guys didn't have time with their best friend used to ship the two of them while bashing his husband.
So Jungkook and Jimin weren't normal guys, but when Jimin shut the door to their apartment, dragging his luggage past the threshold and toeing off his shoes, Jungkook felt like any other normal guy would.
"Jimin!" he shouted as he threw himself into his husband's smaller frame, wrapping himself tightly around him. "I'm so glad you're back. I missed you so much."
Thin arms wrapped around his shoulders. "I missed you too, Kookie. Did you watch the videos I sent? Did you like the music video?"
Jungkook nodded into Jimin's shoulder, willing the tears welling in his eyes to not spill over as he breathed his husband in. "I did. You were amazing. You looked so hot and so graceful. Your voice is angelic."
He laughed a bit before adding, "Angel. Angelic. Were they just singing about you? You're the angel?"
Jimin giggled and playfully slapped Jungkook's shoulder as he pulled back to stare lovingly into his eyes. "Don't tease, Kookoo."
Jungkook smiled down at Jimin as he brushed a few stray hairs from his beautiful face. "I'm not teasing. I'm serious. You're an angel to me, Jimin."
A shy smile graced Jimin's plump lips as he tilted his head down to his feet. He always did that when Jungkook would compliment him lately. Jungkook found it unbearably adorable and couldn't help himself from kissing his forehead.
"You're the angel," Jimin quietly replied. "Maybe the song is right. You don't want to lose those wings, Kookie. People like me do break beautiful things, after all."
Jungkook smiled softly as he ran his hands through Jimin's dark locks, gripping gently at his sharp jawline to draw his face back up. "You're worth being broken for. I don't need wings anyway. I'm not flying off anywhere without you."
Jimin smiled that shy smile again and finally leaned up for a kiss. Jungkook thought to himself, finally.
When they pulled back, Jungkook stole another peck before whispering against Jimin's lips, "Welcome home, angel."
