Wangji, Xichen, and Wuxian were outside in the backyard of Yibo and Zhan's house. They were in the back porch area to keep the wind from messing with the books and papers from blowing around too much. Wangji and Xichen wanted to help Wuxian more on researching the talisman that Jin Guangyao used to teleport everyone to an alternate timeline. As Wuxian was reading through the one book that was of Baoshan's property, he found some interesting information on crafting arrays compared to talismans when wanting to teleport somewhere.

"An array?" Wuxian mumbled.

"What?" Wangji asked, "I didn't catch that."

"An array...it would probably be better to use than a talisman to get us home...though arrays use more energy depending on how big it is," Wuxian explained, "If it is something to teleport us to another timeline, it might drain a person almost indefinitely...not unless it was made by more than one person and they split the amount of energy used equally."

"To make the array, you'd have to figure out what strokes and runes to use," Xichen said, "this would talisman might be of use."

"Maybe, but I want to look further into this book first," Wuxian said, "I do not want to take any unnecessary risks this time."

Xichen glanced at Wuxian who went back to reading. He then looked at Wangji. Wangji shook his head as he knew that Wuxian was still not feeling the best mentally. Wangji could tell that Wuxian was trying and maybe even pushing himself a bit much for their sake so they could get home, but Wangji didn't want him to do that. Wuxian shouldn't have to work himself to the bone.

"Wei Ying, if you want more time, we can wait," Wangji told him, "maybe something will happen and we will just get home eventually."

"As if you think by some miracle that would happen?" Wuxian asked.

"Why not? When you wanted your books and weapons back, they appeared," Wangji said.

"It was just coincidence," Wuxian argued, "Huaisang just happened to have our things and send it to us."

"Maybe there is a reason we haven't gone back yet," Xichen said, "when I left, the cultivation world was a mess. Huaisang said that they just managed to kill the real perpetrators. So maybe they need to clear up some things now."

Wuxian scoffed, "like what?"

"I am not sure," Xichen said, "but think about it. Why send you and Wangji here first? As fair as I know, Jin Guangyao was not near either of you when you teleported here."

Wuxian sat there for a moment trying to think of an answer but he came up with nothing. He couldn't explain it. It was known how Xichen, Wen Ning, Wen Qing, and A'Yuan all got here but how did Wangji and Wuxian appear here?

Wuxian shook his head, "I don't know why we ended up here or how."

"Exactly, for all we know, someone must have known you would might have thought about ending your life and found a way to save you. They did the same for Wangji. Since being here, you two have been healing and working on your relationship. As far as I know, you are more open to Wangji now then you were before we came to this timeline," Xichen told him.

"Who would suspect I'd do that other than god himself who probably has fate written all out somewhere?" Wuxian asked.

"No one really knew that Wei Ying would show up at Nightless City that night," Wangji said.

"Someone might have guessed it. For all we know, Jin Guangyao planned for every possible scenario. We can't even find out because he is dead. I don't even want to attempt ask to try to get him through Inquiry because he would just be wasting our time. He won't answer anything we might potentially ask," Wuxian explained.

"Maybe to you, but not to me," Xichen said, "I might be able to get through to him. I would need to be alone otherwise he might not answer."

"Would he know if we were in a nearby room to hear?" Wuxian asked, "I wouldn't be able to understand what would be asked and answer because I don't speak guqin."

Wangji chuchled, "I would know," he said, "what do you think?"

"We'd have to choose a place where he would be least suspicious," Xichen said.

"Ugh, how about our bedroom?" Wuxian asked.

"We can ask Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo if they have rooms that are available. I don't think I want to use your room. I know how to properly close out of Inquiry but what if he does something in the meantime. If he suspects it's your room he will probably not answer anymore," Xichen said.

"Are you sure he would speak to you?" Wuxian asked.

"Not entirely but out of everyone, he trusted me most. He'd always come to me if he needed advice," Xichen answered.

"All we can do is try," Wangji said.

Wuxian nodded and put his books away, "then why don't we wait until after Inquiry to continue the array or talisman?"

"That is fine," Wangji said, "I want you to relax a bit more anyway."

Wuxian nodded and leaned back in his seat. He did like the weather today. It wasn't too hot and there was a steady breeze that blew through the air. As a gust of wind blew past, Wuxian closed his eyes to soak in the soothingness of it. Wangji was surprised to see how relaxed Wuxian got within a few seconds.

Lan Xichen was going to say something but was interrupted by laughter coming from inside. Wei Wuxian's eyes shot open. The laughs sounded so familiar that his heart stung. It was a male and female laughing. Wuxian slowly turned his head towards the glass door and saw two people standing beside Xiao Zhan inside. Those two people looked exactly like his previous sworn siblings. Wei Wuxian had yet to meet them, Wangji had already met Xuan Lu but not Wuxian.

The woman was holding a little baby. Wei Wuxian immediately felt tears welling up, "I—"

"Wei Ying, I am here," Wangji assured him, "if you are not okay with meeting Xiao Zhan's siblings then you do not have to."

"I don't want to be rude," Wuxian said.

"Xiao Zhan would understand as he knows what your sworn siblings look like," Xichen added.

Yibo so came outside to check on them, "hey guys," he said and saw Wuxian was feeling uneasy, "you saw the two?"

"Barely, but I heard them," Wuxian said.

"A'Xian, maybe seeing them will help you overcome some things," Xichen said. Wuxian let out a sigh. He needed to face the two as they were not Jiang Cheng and Yanli...just their lookalikes.
