"I think I am okay to continue now," Wei Wuxian said.

"We are listening, just take your time," Wangji assured him and held his hand for some comfort.

Wei Wuxian nodded, "there was a discussion conference being held at Nightless City. Jin Guangshan was talking to the other sects that were there. I saw him scatter Wen Ning and Wen Qing's ashes. I went there to get them but I was too late. Jin Guangshan then talked about coming to ambush me at the Burial Mounds and kill me but I made it easy by being there.

There was a dispute, people claiming I killed those when I was ambushed out of malice but it was out of self-defense. I argued saying that they can harm me all they want but I cannot harm them to protect myself?

There was also the curse that people kept pointing blame on me. If I had cast it, I would have had a backlash. That kind of curse is a dark one. There are consequences for that kind of curse and hundred holes has a backlash on the caster. I have no backlash."

"What would the backlash be?" Yibo asked.

"The curse consists of holes that spread evenly across the body, with the smaller holes the size of sesame seeds, and the larger ones as large as soybeans. At first, the victim of the curse feels nothing, at most noticing that their pores have become rougher. However, as time passes, the holes begin to grow in size and number. The curse spreads until the victim's entire body is covered in holes of all sizes. Once the surface of the skin is covered, the curse will spread inward and affect the internal organs until the victim dies. Only people with low cultivation are susceptible to the curse. There are only two known methods of removal: convince the caster to remove it, or kill the caster," Wuxian explained.

"That sounds bad," Yibo said, "why would anyone want to use it?"

"Some people are just evil like that," Xichen said.

"I guarantee you that if you look at Jin Zixun's body now that I am supposedly dead, the curse would still be there, and Xichen-Ge just said they found the real person who cast it," Wuxian said.

"He was found, but he did not act alone. He would not give that information up," Xichen said.

"So what happened at the meeting?" Xiao Zhan asked.

"After being mocked a bit, someone shot me with an arrow. I removed it and tossed it back only to kill the person. A fight soon broke out. I used Chenqing to call resentment to help me and protect me. I only meant to scare everyone there not harm them. After Lan Zhan arrived it got worse. My Shijie ran out on the battlefield calling for me so I went to go find her.

There was then a second flute that came out and started creating puppets. Everyone thought it was me but I did not have the flute by my mouth and I was not playing. When I found my Shijie, a puppet struck her in the back with a sword. Jiang Cheng was by her and when I got there he shoved me away. He yelled saying that he trusted me in control but I told him it was not me. Shijie tried to speak to me but quickly pushed me aside and she was struck in the chest with a sword. She saved me from getting killed.

I lost my will to even fight anymore. I used the last bit of strength I had to kill the man who killed Shijie and then destroyed the amulet that everyone was fighting over. I then went to the cliff and Lan Zhan tried to talk me into going to him. I couldn't, I lost everything and even myself. I fell back by Lan Zhan caught me.

Jiang Cheng then came and he stabbed the cliffside. If it crumbled Lan Zhan would fall with me so I yanked my hand away and fell. Lan Zhan fell anyway...that was when we ended up here," Wei Wuxian explained everything. Tears in his eyes, and he was trembling. Wangji pulled him into a hug to try and comfort him.

Lan Xichen was glad he heard Wuxian's side. Hearing that he tried to push Lan Wangji away, it actually caused a soft pain in his heart. He was grateful that he tried to save him but at the same time, he was glad that Wangji was with him. Lan Xichen knew Wangji was right before, that Wangji need Wuxian just as much as Wuxian needs Wangji.

"I'm sorry you suffered so much," Xichen said, "I am sorry I did not step in the right way."

"Xichen-Ge, I cannot fault you. You have your duty as a sect leader to believe what you felt was right at the time. Everyone thought I was evil and I do not blame them. I did not make it easy on myself," Wuxian said.

Xichen just sighed. He knows that trying to really talk about this all clearly won't happen until Wuxian was a bit more stable, "I think we will talk about this all properly in a couple days. I think we need a day or two to process everything and then we can sit down when our minds are a bit more relaxed and focused," Xichen suggested.

With that, Wangji took Wuxian upstairs to their room. The two relaxed in bed only for Wuxian to fall asleep shortly after being held close to Wangji. His soothing heart beat helped lull him into a peaceful sleep. With Lan Wangji beside him, he felt safe and everything he just shared was forgotten at the moment. All he wanted was to be in the comfort of Wangji's embrace.

Lan Xichen sighed as he pondered on the things that he heard. Xiao Zhan and Yibo were still with him and the two seemed to be okay. They were doing what they could to keep Xichen comfortable, "Xichen?" Xiao Zhan questioned, "Will you be alright?"

"In time," Xichen said.

"Bofu?" Xichen heard A'Yuan call for him. A'Yuan was actually minding his own business the whole conversation, "Will Rich-gege and Xian-Gege be okay?" A'Yuan asked.

Xichen smiled and pulled the toddler to his lap, "they will be, how about you stay in my room tonight," he said.

"Okay," A'Yuan said.

"Why do you call him Rich-GeGe?" Xichen asked.

"He bought me toys, food, and clothes when we first met and I did not know what else to call him," A'Yuan answered.

"You can probably call him Ji-GeGe," Xichen told him, "How did you first meet him?"

"Met in Yiling. Xian-GeGe and I were buying food for my family but I accidentally got lost. I found Ji-GeGe and hugged his leg. He looked at me and it kind of scared me so I started crying. Xian-GeGe came and helped him," A'Yuan explained.

"I will have to asked Xian-GeGe and Ji-GeGe about this," Xichen said as he thought it was kind of funny to picture Wangji with a child clinging to his leg crying. He was probably lost on what to do. If his guesses were correct, if Wuxian saw it, he was probably laughing at the scene before he actually managed to help Wangji. Xichen was then grateful that this little boy was still alive. He was sweet and it was so unfortunate that the rest of A'Yuan's family was gone.
