Ch. 68

Lan Wangji called a meeting and demanded everyone to be there. Lan Xichen was healing nicely and he was good enough to talk about what happened to him. Wangji first shared what he called the meeting for.

"I managed to get Wei Ying to talk to me for a moment through our bond," Wangji explained, "he is leaving it open but he blocks it occasionally because he doesn't want me to know what kind of pain he is in. He told me that Jin Guangyao is back and is Zanjin's twin brother. Zanjin was able to call him back with a sacrifice summon and he used dark energy to advance his cultivation. He told me that he was in an underground lab somewhere," Wangji looked at Haikuan, "he would not go to the same lab twice. Do you know of any other labs?"

"He may have one linked to his personal home," Haikuan said, "did you get anything as to why they took Wuxian?"

"Wei Ying went willingly to save his everyone else. Apparently that is why they let Xiongzhang go so easily because they wanted him. They want his blood for cloning or something...that is what Wei Ying told me," Wangji answered, "I can find him through our bond but he needs to leave it open enough so I can follow it. I need to know who will be with me because they know we are coming. They are expecting it."

"You know I will be there," Baoshan said, "no matter what energy they used to gain strength or power, I am still stronger than them. I am only one level away from ascending to a goddess. I will not let them keep hurting my grandson. Wei Ying is an idiot to think he can go about this alone. I am going to knock some sense into that boy."

"I believe he had good intentions even though I am angry at him for the same reasons," Wangji said, "I should have figured it out when he tried to push me away after you performed that location spell. He was acting strange. Even is he was having a bad relationship with my brother he wouldn't just abandon me because of that. I am so stupid to not have seen it. I am sorry I didn't notice the signs."

"A'Ying is good at acting," Wen Qing said, "I have seen it time and time again. He hides his pain so well sometimes because he doesn't want his family to worry. He loves his family so much, no matter how badly they treated him. He loves so deeply and it's impossible to be pissed off at him because of how beautiful his heart is."

"I think a couple people should stay here to watch the children while everyone else goes. Wen Ning is actually quite strong and he will be of great use for us," Baoshan said, "Wangji will lead us so he has to go. Xichen is still healing but if he feels okay, he can come."

"Yibo and I will stay with the kids," Zhan said, "Wen Qing is a doctor and she will help Wuxian until he gets back. Plus you all have abilities that we do not have."

"I have to go because I may be able to stop Zanjin," Haikuan said, "I also know that if they are doing any work at all, I will do what I can to stop it and dispose of it."

"Then it is settled," Baoshan said, "Yibo and Zhan will stay while everyone else goes. They may expect only one but maybe not several people."

"I will try to reach Wei Ying to get him to hold on and leave the bond open. No matter the pain he is in, I need it open," Wangji said.

Baoshan nodded.

Wangji closed his eyes and tried to reach for Wei Wuxian, "Wei Ying? Can you hear me?"

"L-Lan Z-Zhan?" Wuxian sounded tired. He sounded like he had been tortured for a while and Wangji did not like it.

"Wei Ying, I know you do not want me to feel your pain, but we are coming. Please leave the link open so I can find you. I will use the location spell again if you close it," I warned.

"I will...Lan Z-Zhan...You should know...I am sorry I hurt you," Wei Wuxian sounded as if he was having a hard tome holding on. Wangji was now worried. Being immortal, they couldn't really die, but they could go comatose for a long time if they were injured bad enough. Wangji needed to get to him soon.

"It is alright, we will be there soon. Please hang on for me, Love, promise me," Wangji demanded.

"I promise," Wuxian said and he went quiet.

The link was still open but Wangji could feel through the bond that he was exhausted. Wangji opened his eyes and turned to the others, "He is suffering but he knows we are coming. He is holding on as best as he can. We should go before he gets worse."

The others agreed. Haikuan had to carefully follow Wangji's directions as he drove. They were led to a forested area and were led to an electric fence, "We will have to walk from here," Baoshan said, "we can get past this."

"There may be traps along the way so be careful," Wen Qing said.

"This is a secret lab of the company's," Haikuan said, "this is where they perform the most dangerous of experiments...it is no wonder they brought Wuxian here."

"Wei Ying told me they have him in a glass confinement that is not easy to break," Wangji said.

"Let's go," Baoshan said as she used her energy to bust the gate door open. They all then went in and went to the building that was about another mile from the front gate.

Lan Wangji could soon feel pain all over his body and he collapsed to his knees, "Wangji," Wen Qing said, "what is it?"

"It's...Wei Ying...They are doing something to him...it burns," Wangji said.

Wen Ning helped Wangji to his feet and helped him inside. When they entered, they could hear screams coming from downstairs. They ran down and saw that Jin Guangyao and Zanjin were using an electrical shock to torture Wuxian. It was no wonder Wangji could feel like he was burning.
