After such a hot and passionate afternoon, Wuxian and Wangji showered before the two decided to spend the evening outside in the backyard. As they were outside, they could hear Yibo and Zhan from their bedroom as their window was open. Wuxian giggled before sending them a privacy charm.

"Seems we inspired the two," Wuxian said.

"Mnn," Wangji hummed.

Wuxian sighed, "do you think if I go back, everyone will still want me dead?" He asked.

"I will protect you, Wei Ying," Wangji assured him, "you and I are soulmates now. I won't let you fight alone anymore."

Wuxian shook his head, "Lan Zhan, was I wrong? Should I have not saved the Wen's from that camp? Should I have not given my core to Jiang Cheng? Should I have been more considerate at the indoctrination and not caused trouble? Should I have let Jiang Fengmian even take me in when I was young?" He questioned, "it seems like I was only ever meant to have an ill-fated life. Why else would my parents disappear and leave me behind? Where did I go wrong?"

Wei Wuxian was in a dilemma. Is was self-loathing hard. Thinking through everything he had been through, he realized the only good thing he gained was Lan Wangji. He couldn't think of anything else that was good. Wuxian let out a soft cry and curled in on himself. Wangji pulled him to his lap and held him close to comfort him.

"Wei Ying, everything that has happened, was not your fault. We grow up and we make choices. You did do the right thing by helping those innocent people. I wish I was strong enough to push past my sect principles to help you more. You made a sacrifice that no one else would do, and that alone is something I know you have no regrets about," Wangji explained.

"Lan Zhan, I do not have anywhere to go when I return. I understand that I have you, but you know that I will not do well inside your sect. Your uncle will make sure of that," Wuxian said.

"I will talk with Xiongzhang. You are my first priority, Wei Ying. If you do not want to live in Cloud Recesses, then we will live somewhere else where you feel comfortable."

"What about you though?" Wuxian asked, "I cannot take you out of your home like that. That would hurt me even to think about it."

"Did you not hear me?" Wangji asked, "you are my home now. I cannot be bound within the walls of my sect forever. I am second heir but Xiongzhang is the leader. I have a right to make my own decisions and I am deciding to follow you."

Wuxian let out a sob, "Lan Zhan, I do not think I can handle going back if I don't have you. I know it sounds selfish but it's true."

"Then you can be as selfish as you want with me," Wangji assured him, "You are not alone anymore. In fact, I want to marry you, Wei Ying. Even if we marry before returning home."

"What?" Wuxian asked.

"Wei Ying, marry me and I will be your forever home," Wangji replied.

Wuxian choked out another sob as he wrapped his arms around Wangji's neck and nodded, "I will marry you. I want you, no one else but you. I want to go on night hunts with you and sleep with you everyday. I want to be your friend, your partner, and your family."

"Wei Ying, mark your words...everyday means everyday," Wangji said.

"Ugh...actually, maybe not everyday but it's the thought that counts right?" Wuxian countered.

"Everyday means everyday," Wangji repeated, "I will make sure not to break you...it will help strengthen your new golden core."

"Is it possible to achieve immortality through dual cultivation? With the amount of times we do it, it would seem as if we could," Wuxian wondered.

"Maybe, I am not sure. We can research that when we return home," Wangji said.

"What will you say to Zewu Jun?" He asked.

"If he really did pay attention to what I said to him, he will understand. Living outside of the sect does not mean I cannot visit. We are always still about to help them if they ever need it. Plus, we agreed to adopt A'Yuan. He shouldn't grow up on the rules like I did. He would do better having the freedom to just be a kid," Wangji said.

"We have yet to see if he was born with the ability to cultivate," Wuxian said, "I think he would be a great cultivator."

"We won't know for a couple more years but I think, as he has Wen Ning and Wen Qing as relatives, he has that potential to become a cultivator. He has that gene," Wangji said.

Wuxian nodded, "speaking of A'Yuan. Since Wen Qing is recovering well, we should bring him to see her soon. I promised I would."

"We can the next time we go," Wangji said.

"Also, I noticed in the past that you'd be...I guess jealous over certain people I would hang around, but you don't seem that way with the Wen siblings," Wuxian said.

Wangji sighed, "You once told me that Wen Ning is connected to you as you helped bring him back to life. You two became soul-brothers. They treat you more like siblings then Jiang Wanyin ever did. I guess I do not mind them being around you. And I got...uneasy because you'd always flirt with everyone you saw."

"I promise, you are the only person I will flirt with from now on," Wuxian said, "but it will be doubled."

"So shameless," Wangji replied.

"Care to tell me something that I don't know?" Wuxian asked, in a flirtatious tone. Wuxian straddled Wangji's lap and his arms were still wrapped around Wangji's neck, "hmm?"

Wangji wrapped his arms around Wuxian's waist and pulled him closer so their bodies were pressed together, "Wei Ying is beautiful," Wangji said.

Wuxian blushed and shoved his face into Wangji's neck, "Lan Zhan, you cannot say things like that, I do not think my heart can handle that."

"Mnn, I believe you have a strong enough heart to handle it," Wangji said.

Wuxian pulled his head back and grabbed Wangji's face with his hands and crushed his lips to Wangji's. Wangji took over and rolled them over so Wuxian was pinned underneath him on the ground. Wangji pulled away from the kiss and rested his forehead on Wuxian's. For a few moments, Wangji just continued to stare into Wuxian eyes and Wuxian gazed right back at him, his breaths heavy.

"I love you so much, Wei Ying. I've wanted to be with you for so long but I was always afraid to confess to you. Out of fear that you would not accept me or you would not feel the same way", Wangji whispered against Wuxian's lips but Wangji didn't kiss him like Wuxian had hoped.

Instead, Wangji tilted Wuxian's head back and skimmed his nose up Wuxian's neck, breathing him in. A low moan, full of need left Wangji and Wuxian swallowed hard, "I love the way you smiled at me that night we met. The way you tried to bribe me into letting you go. That laugh of yours keeps ringing in my ears like the most precious song in the world," Wangji said quietly

"Lan Zhan—" Wuxian pleaded, and with a growl Wangji sealed their mouths together.

The Lan's tongue sank into Wuxian's mouth and lashed against his. Wangji didn't just kiss him. He explored, and he devoured him. Consumed him. Hands came up to Wuxian's cheeks holding him in place and Wangji kissed him harder, deeper until it became difficult for Wuxian to breathe. Wuxian jerked his head to the side but Wangji caught his chin bringing their mouths together again. A moan tore through Wuxian's mouth only to be swallowed by Wangji as the man ravished Wuxian's mouth.

Wangji's hands are on the back of Wuxian's head, holding him in place. And for a long moment, time was frozen. Then, all at once, heat spreads through them, igniting the fire inside their hearts. Speaking of the heart, theirs were hammering, an rushing sound to the ears. The two molded together perfectly. Exploring each other's taste. Feeling the strength of Wangji's arms around Wuxian, it made him feel at home.
