As was suggested, Lan Xichen came back to speak with Wuxian and Wangji after a few days. It was long enough for everyone to calm down and gather their thoughts. It was also long enough for others to think about another person's perspective...such as Wei Wuxian's perspective, and why he was not ready to return home. Lan Xichen had a hard time understanding it as he was always confused with different political views.

Xiao Zhan was also there to keep things from getting out of control...although he was not a cultivator so he was potentially the weakest in the room. Yibo was there incase he was needed for emergencies. Wen Qing, Wen Ning, and Haikuan were also here as they wanted to help them out in any way they can. Of course, there was A'Yuan and Fanxing, but Wen Ning decided to go watch them play in the backyard while everyone else was talking.

Wei Wuxian was sitting in a solo chair in the living room. Wangji was standing there right beside him. His arms folded across his chest and he was honestly sending cold hard glares his brother's way. Lan Xichen never thought he would be at the receiving end of those glares. Many people have long said that they are terrifying but Xichen just thought they were over exaggerating it. Now that he was receiving those glares, it was most definitely not an exaggeration.

"Do you have to stare at me like that?" Xichen asked.

"Depends on what comes out of your mouth," Wangji replied.

"Look, I just want to understand what is going on," Xichen said, "we have told Wuxian dozens of times that he does not have to worry about anything now that his name is cleared."

"How do you know that?" Wangji asked, "his name may be cleared but he was hated by everyone, including you, might I add. You trusted another over me and you lost the meaning of righteousness...which is what our sect stands for. Wei Ying was innocent the entire time and he is still the number one enemy to a lot of people. No matter who was the main culprit."

"I never hated him," Xichen said, "I never once said I hated him. I, like everyone else, believed at the time, that he was dangerous."

"Yet I did not," Wangji said, "why do you think I was willing to try and save him when he fell from that cliff? I didn't know why he changed his cultivation methods but I long let that go because my love for him and his life is more important than what he cultivates."

Wei Wuxian was beginning to blush, "Lan Zhan?" Wuxian asked in a whisper, "could you please warn me before you say stuff like that?"

"No," Wangji answered him and smiled at him, "I will not."

"Why, you've never denied me anything before?" Wuxian asked louder.

"Because I will not stop saying sweet things to you or about you," Wangji said.

Wei Wuxian sighed, "you're lucky you are cute."

"Mnn," Wangji hummed.

"Zewu Jun, why are you so determined to get Wei Wuxian to go back anyway?" Wen Qing asked, "if he is not comfortable returning yet, why force him?"

"I am not trying to force him, I just don't want us to keep living off these people," Xichen said.

Xiao Zhan sighed, "have we once said we were annoyed or upset about you here, or even gave the impression that we wanted you to leave?" He asked.

"Well, no," Xichen said.

"Then you don't have to worry," Xiao Zhan said, "Wei Wuxian is still dealing with quite a lot of trauma and that is not something that can just go away. Trauma may never go away."

"I know," Xichen said.

"Xiongzhang, Wei Ying agreed to look at the talisman Jin Guangyao gave you. He said he will help you return home but he isn't leaving yet, and neither am I. Even when I do return, I am no longer affiliated with the sect, remember?" Wangji explained.

"Are you really going to leave for him?" Xichen asked.

"If you love someone so much, would you be willing to do anything to make them happy?" Wangji asked, "I cannot be bound by the sect forever. Especially now that some new things have developed between Wei Ying and me."

"What do you mean by that?" Wen Qing asked.

"Qing-Jie, check for yourself," Wuxian said as he held out his hand.

Wen Qing furrowed her brow but checked him anyway. It only took her a few seconds to understand what he and Wangji were both trying to say, "when did this happen?" She asked, "and how?"

"Exchanging spiritual essence," Wangji replied, "and it happened a couple days ago."

"What is happening?" Wang Yibo asked.

Wen Qing even checked over Wangji. She gasped and smiled, "I am going to have to work on my theories more," she said.

"We are happy to help you if you need it," Wuxian said.

"To answer your question, Yibo," Wen Qing said, "Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji leveled up in cultivation. They are now immortals, not just simple cultivators."

Lan Xichen's eyes widened at the sudden news. He was proud of his brother but he didn't expect it so soon, "you both achieved this?" He asked.

"Yes," Wuxian replied, "I'm sure it will take a lot of energy to get you home as it is."

"I mean, congratulations," Xichen said, "and since this is a new development, I can understand why you would want to secede."

"Xiongzhang, you are always going to be my brother and Cloud Recesses will always be a part of me. Wei Ying is my home and I want to marry him. I want to live with him and live a long and happy life with him," Wangji told him.

Lan Xichen nodded, "I understand," he said, "you will really look into the talisman?"

"If you want to return home, I will," Wuxian said, "I don't want anyone to think that they have to stay because I am not ready to return."

"Thank you," Lan Xichen said.
