•GHOST•

Fucking hell. Bloody fucking hell.
I was expecting a woman in her 40s at the very fucking least 30s. I also wasn't expecting her to be attractive. I was expecting her to be as ugly as her crimes but she looked as delicate as a flower. I guess that was the best disguise. She could get away with murder if the crime was done right nobody would look her way. I look her up and down. I'm gonna destroy her.

For fuck sake those lips.

I didn't know she even existed. A week ago she was a myth no name to the crime, a mysterious. The only reason I know she even exists is because of Marcus. He reached out to me. Found me. She's just as unheard of as El Sin Nombre, another big-time drug lord waiting to get shackled. She didn't look like she could even hold a gun yet I was sent here to believe this woman was connected to all the crimes under the sun. Nonsense. I could break her. All the fake deities know I want to.

She left for her office after a brief greeting. No smile no nice welcome just a short. "Hello." She was as emotionless as a rock.

We were shown around. He showed us the in and out of the house. The kitchen. The stables. Everything here was modern with the touch of vibrant colors. Plants and flowers everywhere were spaced out perfectly so it didn't look too crowded.

We were out of place, especially König and I. Keegan and Marcus were in a monkey suit they could fit in.

After seeing the kitchen staff and how tiny they were. One in particular reminded me of my mum. Her hair was all white. She was only a couple years away from going completely blind yet she smiled at us. "That's Esperanza. She is in charge of the kitchen. If you are ever hungry even if it's a midnight snack you ask her nobody messes with her not even La Senorita."

Nobody messes with experience.

After we got through the whole house he explained the other houses. The guard's quarters, and the gym. The panic room, the weapon room, the barn and even the house of cars. Yes, fucking house of cars. Selling drugs was a lucrative business. She had 6 dogs, 40 chickens and 5 horses.

He took us upstairs to the outside of Verena's room and our rooms.

"Verena has a younger brother. He is nothing like her the kid is very cheerful and outgoing. His name is Mateo he should be coming home tomorrow he goes to school in the States but will be home for the holidays." Marcus' voice was gravelly and his accent was thick. "She also has an assistant name Denise, shes a really nice girl if you need a day off she will arrange that for you."

•VERENA•

Next morning I woke up to Mateo jumping into my bed. "Levántate haragána." (Get up lazy girl.) He got on top of me, then stood up grabbing a pillow and beating me with it. I started to laugh. Once he was done with his zoomies he threw himself back on to the mattress breathing heavily. I took that as my opportunity to repay the love. I grabbed the pillow I was sleeping on and beat him with it. He started to throw his hands up to defend himself. The door suddenly burst opened and Keegan walked in, shirtless. All the humor left my face.

"I heard commotion." He said. König and Ghost behind him in the shadows.

"Oh hi. I'm Mateo." Mateo hopped off my bed. He grinned at Keegan and the others like they weren't paid serial killers. Suddenly feeling to expose I got off my bed and slipped on a robe and some slippers. I was wearing a shorts and a sport bra. "You guys must be the new bodyguards. Damn you guys are buff." Mateo paused which made me smile to myself. He was always so much more outgoing then me. I always envy his charisma. When we were younger he use to get people to give him money or food just by smiling and making them laugh.

"Nice you meet you." Keegan said, flatly. With no expression in his voice or face. He didn't mean it then but regardless Mateo was still as happy as a clown.

"Mamá Guadalupe debe estar rodando en su tumba en al ver estos gringos." (mama must be rolling in her grave right now seeing these white man) He pointed at them and look at me with his brown eyes widen.

I snorted. Exactly what I was thinking. My grandma despise Americans/ English men. Especially the men with blue eyes. She didn't mind the women in fact she always says they were also victims to their own people. Ironic because she had blue eyes. She always says they were the devil. The devil with blue eyes.

They all just happen to have blue eyes. I was shocked at the fact Mateo actually remember that. He was really young when my grandma was alive.

"Breakfast is ready by the way. We better hurry before Esperanza comes up here."

Denise waited for me in the dinning hall. "Good morning, Denise." I said quietly. She sat next to me and then took the second to visually addresses the giants in the room.

"Good morning, Verena . . . Who . . ." I smirked at her reaction.

"New guards. That's Ghost . . ." I introduce them all quietly. They didn't address each other. "Marcus retiring he'll be here for the week."

"Oh why do they wear mask." She lean close to me in order to whisper. I shrugged. I know why but I didn't want to bother explaining it to her. It wasn't really her concern. "Okay, anyways I just wanted to give you an update about the shipment to American got ambushed."

"That's over a 10 million in revenue." I whispered annoyed. Fresh cup coffee and water was placed in front of me with a plate of huevos rancheros. Mateo talked to the guys and to my surprised they actually engaged. Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised, he was the all charming Mateo Montego.

"We can get the shipment back." I said. Denise nodded taking a bite of her concha.

"Yes, we got connection El Sin Nombre will be providing support." I frowned, well of course but she wouldn't be doing it without a cut. I won't expect any less from her.

"20% final offer." I took another bite into my food resisting the urge to moan. In Esperanza we trust.

"She said she'll do it for free and before you ask no. She said that she not looking for anything in return ever." I took a sip of my water. That made me uneasy, since when the does Valeria hand out charity. Denise took out a picture of Valeria and I at a bar. She was kissing my cheek and I was in the middle of laughing. "She said 'para ti chiquita" (for you little one)

I rolled my eyes, already having the mental imagine of Valeria saying those exact words, while smirking at me.

I smiled, covering my mouth with the coffee mug.

"Tell her I said thank you but I'm still wary." This might come back later. We were close but business woman non the less. Money comes first.

They ate with their mask still on which is bizarre. Ghost mask pulled up only showing his surprisingly plumped lips. König slipped the fork under his hood. At least Keegan was normal. "Feel free to ask for more food." I said once they finished. "Esperanza loves when you ask for seconds."
