Rosie was awoken the next morning to the delicate sounds of flapping wings as an owl landed right on top of her and Sebastian, wings outstretched with a letter in its mouth.

She snatched it quickly and gave the owl a scratch, sending it on its way before Sebastian stirred awake, trying not to think about how the owl knew to find her in the Room of Requirement

Rosie turned the letter over in her hands and quickly realised it had a large M on the back of it.

The fucking Ministry of Magic.

Shit.

Rosie shifted out of Sebastian's grasp and he rolled over with a groan and a light snore, letting her know she'd gotten away with it. She slipped out of the bed and made her way to the small living room and sat on the lounge, tearing open the letter quickly.

Miss Callahan,

Your presence is required at the Ministry of Magic today at 10am sharp.

Lawrence Palmer.

Rosie sighed. She knew she'd be getting checked up on. But there was a curfew. She'd been attacked on the Quidditch pitch. Getting to the Ministry of Magic was going to be an uphill battle.

She reentered the bedroom and stuck her hand into the pocket of Sebastian's discarded pants, finding his pocket watch.

9am.

One hour to get to the Ministry.

She quickly conjured herself a new dress and kissed Sebastian tenderly on the head, debating whether to just ignore the letter and stay in bed with him all Saturday, pretending the owl got lost, but she knew one way or another, they'd come looking for her.

So she left him, heading out of the Astronomy tower, making her way back to Central Hall and praying she'd come up with a plan on the way there since they'd shut off all the Floo Points.

"Ah, just who I was looking to find."

Rosie turned around startled to see the smiling face of Professor Fig staring at her.

"Oh, good morning, Professor." Rosie said with a smile she tried to make look genuine.

"Are you busy?"

"Oh, sort of, I was uh... going to study." Rosie lied through her teeth.

Professor Fig nodded, his hands clasped together in front of him as he twisted them together. "Actually, I was hoping you'd come with me for the morning. I've been asked to escort you to the Ministry of Magic."

"The Ministry? Is something wrong?" Rosie asked, though she figured this could likely work in her favour.

Professor Fig maintained his smile but didn't offer any additional information. "You'll find out soon enough. They just asked me to ensure you get there promptly. We should leave now, don't want to keep them waiting."

As they walked through the echoing corridors of Hogwarts, Rosie's mind raced. She hadn't expected to be escorted by a teacher, especially not by Professor Fig and she wondered if he had actually been in on her whole plan the whole time.

With a teacher escort, they managed to apparate to London just outside the Ministry, but Fig walked Rosie around an alleyway to the back, not where she knew the entrance to be.

"Why are we going this way?" Rosie asked cautiously.

Professor Fig turned to her, "There's a special entrance to the Ministry from here. It's not widely known. Given the circumstances, they thought it best to avoid the usual routes."
