Sebastian's sleep was incredibly minimal.
He was furious that Rosie slept so peacefully next to him when she could have been playing him the entire time.
The gentle rays of light from the window in the ceiling gently stirred her and she remained in a sleepy haze as she turned to her side to cuddle Sebastian until she realised he wasn't cuddling her back.
"Hey," She said sleepily, dragging herself up to sit and look at him, "You alright?"
"Are you alright?" He snapped back.
"Erm... yes? What's going on?"
"Your time turner, how does it work?"
Rosie's eyes narrowed in confusion, unsure why he'd chosen the first ray of sunlight to ask such questions.
"What do you mean?"
"I read something interesting last night. I was wondering if there was a way to use it to save Fig and your heartache... but it says they only have a limit of five hours. You've been here for months." Sebastian accused.
"Sebastian, I know as much as you do about that. I was given it with specific instructions that only included killing you and how to go back and forth with it. If there were five hour limits, surely something would have happened by now." Rosie said, brows furrowed, utterly confused about why Sebastian was suddenly attacking her.
"Hmm," Sebastian hummed, "And, I read that things that have occurred cannot actually be stopped. So, whatever I apparently did, there's no way of stopping it. So either you've been lying to me this whole time for some reason and you're not actually time travelling, or perhaps you are from the future, and just incredibly stupid."
"Sebastian..." Rosie said softly, tears prickling in the corners of her eyes, "What are you talking about?"
"It's all a lie, Rosie! Whatever you've told me about your time travel doesn't line up with what we know about time turners!"
Rosie felt a lump form in her throat as she tried hard to process Sebastian's sudden accusations. She searched Sebastian's eyes for even a tiny morsel of understanding, but all she found was anger.
"I've been nothing but honest with you," Rosie whispered, her voice trembling. "I can't control what you choose to believe, but I've told you everything I know."
Sebastian scoffed, "You haven't been honest, you strung me along for ages with intentions to kill me!"
"Sebastian, that was so, so long ago! I thought we were over that! Have I not proven my intentions with you?"
"Honestly, Primrose, I don't know what your intentions are anymore," Sebastian said, his tone less angry and more finite.
He climbed out of the bed and shrugged on his clothes, leaving the Room of Requirement with a heavy slam of the door.
And Rosie finally let the tears threatening to spill over breach her eyelashes, streaming down her cheeks as she sobbed, hard.
When she composed herself enough to stem the tears and actually see after what felt like hours, she searched for whatever Sebastian had said he was reading.
She checked all the surfaces, drawers, everywhere until she got on her hands and knees and found an old tome under the bed.
Wizarding World Mysteries: The Ministry Uncovered.
She scooped up the book, wiping the remaining tears with the back of her hand and began to flick through the book, finding a whole range of subjects from items within the Ministry to theories about what Unspeakables got up to.
