It took a solid two weeks for you to finally regain consciousness and remain awake for more than a few hours at a time during your recovery in the hospital. Your body constantly ached and felt sore, with pain being your unwelcome companion nine times out of ten. Nevertheless, you found solace in the fact that you were alive and gradually making progress.

Having Goku by your side proved to be a tremendous source of comfort. Whether you were rousing from sleep or succumbing to the drowsiness induced by the doctors' muscle relaxants flowing through your IV, Goku remained faithfully present. Despite your persistent attempts to convince him to rest in a proper bed and allow you some time alone, assuring him that you would be fine, he adamantly refused.

"No, I can't... I can't bear the thought of you getting hurt again... It's my own fault for not taking action in the first place," Goku would say, his words tinged with a deep sorrow that pained you to witness. Seeing the usually optimistic man on the verge of tears, burdened with remorse, was a heart-wrenching sight.

Goku revealed the unsettling truth about what transpired, how Yamcha had been coerced and manipulated by Bulma and ChiChi to carry out their malicious plan. Despite Yamcha's remorse for his involvement, he still went through with it, intensifying the guilt he felt. As for the two women who harbored a petty grudge against you, Goku made the decision to distance himself from ChiChi indefinitely. Vegeta, on the other hand, took it upon himself to address Bulma, though not through physical means. He made sure she understood her place, putting an end to her misguided actions.

You couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for Goku and Vegeta having to defend you. However, Goku swiftly dismissed your remorse, shaking his head. "Y/N, there's no need for you to apologize. You did nothing wrong. It was you who suffered and got hurt. Bulma and ChiChi should be the ones seeking forgiveness," he reassured you.

You could only nod in agreement, avoiding an argument, as Goku's words resonated with truth. Thankfully, the second a batch of Senzu beans was ready, and Goku retrieved one to offer it to you.

With the miraculous healing properties of the Senzu bean, your injuries were completely mended.

Upon being discharged from the hospital, Goku accompanied you back to your apartment, and you were taken aback by the sight of everything being impeccably clean and organized. Goku scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, his cheeks flushing with a hint of embarrassment. "Um... I didn't stay at the hospital the whole time, you know. I thought it would be nice for you to come back to a clean place, but I wasn't exactly sure how to clean properly. Luckily, Vegeta helped me out!" Goku blurted out, his words rushing out in a jumble. You gazed up at the towering Saiyan with a tender smile, feeling a surge of warmth in your heart.

You turned towards Goku and embraced him gently, holding a bag of your recent hospital clothes in one hand. Goku relaxed into the embrace, returning the hug with a gentle yet firm grip, savoring the sensation of your touch as if he had been deprived of such a loving connection. His muscular arms enveloped your smaller frame, almost completely engulfing you. Goku rested his chin atop your head, the soft bristles of your peachy buzz cut tickling his skin ever so slightly.

"Thank you," you whispered against Goku's chest, your voice trembling with the weight of your emotions. Goku held you tighter, his own heart aching at the sight of your vulnerability. He longed for your happiness and security, wanting to shield you from any further pain. However, you pulled away from the embrace a bit abruptly, hastily wiping at your eyes while mustering a weary smile. "I... I should go shower and change into clean clothes," you said, your voice tinged with exhaustion. Goku nodded understandingly.

As you turned to walk away, Goku hesitated for a moment, his hand brushing down your arm before gently gripping your own. He held on for a few seconds longer, squeezing your hand tenderly, before finally releasing his grip. He wanted to convey his support and reassurance, even if it was just through a simple touch.
